I was hungry one Sunday afternoon, and i was in the area,as a local, i was naturally drawn to the crispy looking fish. I order and the food doesn't take too long to get to me and the food was really hot! Back with another review. Once again this place surpassed all expectations. The staff works fast and is very friendly and is constantly asking if anything else is needed. Surprisingly delicious! I don't visit Captain D's to often but when I do, I'm quite surprised at how well everything taste. I caught this location a little too early, well 15 minutes before their scheduled opening. If you were wondering they don't unlock the doors early. But once in, I did receive a friendly greeting and went on to place an order. This visit, I ordered the two piece fish platter with corn on the cob and French fries. Everything was perfectly cook and seasoned. I got the white fish which was very fulfilling. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The corn was perfect, sweet with the buttery goodness to it. I will definitely be back, maybe on the next visit try something different. read more

Was in the mood for a Fish Sandwhich and happened to be near here.....so we stopped in for a bite before we head to UWF. Well........half of the Fish sandwhich was good...the other not so much. One piece was freshly cooked and the other was left over from some other time......definitely could tell right off the bat...color, temp and feel. Restaurant was extremely clean. You can tell they take pride in the place. The lady that worked the register, LaLa, was so nice and very welcoming. She checked on us a few times throughout the meal and opened the door for us when we left. The cook in the back even checked to see if the food was good, which it was. I felt like this was stepping back in time to what customer service and fast food dining was back in the early 90s. Cant recommend enough for a fried seafood meal. read more

The Captain is back open! (this location was closed for an extended period of time). Open couple weeks ago (11/21). So a lot of these reviews are before the new opening. I have always like the Captain. The fish for some reason is good to me. All the sides are good to especially when you consider the value of the meal. There should be negative zero stars for The Canton Rd Marietta 30066 Ga Captain Ds  A bad idea (ordering online at this store) turned into a horrible experience- Long story short -I made an online prepaid order, arrived to pick it up, left after almost an hour with no dinner, no explanation, no refund, and 45.00 lighter.  They simply would not bring out the order. Now, I am getting a circular run around trying to get refunded by their corporate zombie team who could give a hoot less about customer service repeat business or human beings period. Now here's my opinion: If they don't want business, are they going out of business, otherwise, what gives? Beware if your food is packed to go right after ordering. My dinner was cold when I got home. Previously you had to wait but you could tell it was prepared/dropped in fryer and served fresh but this no longer seems to be the case. Always had good experiences here in the past. Don't plan on returning unless I hear something good about it in the future. read more

I would like to make a complaint about this capt. d's at 8090 N Davis Hwy Pensacola,Fl. My roommate and I went there today around 12;30 and ordered 2 lunches from the drive throu window. We got home with them to find only one lunch and NO RECEIPT we called right away, they told her to call the manager after 4:pm when calling him we told him about what happened and he said we would have to have the receipt, I told him we did not get one and he kept repeating bring in the recipe. I told him we paid $18.56 and ask him to check the register and he told me they could not do that. We are senior citizens and do not appreicate being cheated like that. Last Friday night I placed an order on line as I have done many times before and when I got to the store, I assumed it was not ready yet so I sat down and waited. After a number of other customers came and went, I questioned the staff and was informed that my order never came to their kitchen. Then a lady came from the kitchen and wanted to see evidence that I had actually placed the order... Not having my cell phone to produce the email confirmation, I left the store and throughout the week-end, the 30 dollar charge was pending in my bank account. Today it became a firm charge so I called the store again and was immediately told by the manager that my order had been placed with the Fairfield store and I needed to call them. I did and they told me to call Davis Highway back... Got the name of a regional manager and left name and number on voice mail. Checked my confirmation and it was in fact placed with the Davis Store. Never did get a call back from the mgr so at this time, I am out thirty some dollars and had to go to a different restaurant for supper.... Doubt if this will ever be resolved.. read more

I used to enjoy the food here, but the counter service is terrible. We stopped by yesterday, all three of the staff were busy yelling or talking to one another. Cashier stopped at the register twice and walked away; my wife finally asked her 'are you ready to take my order?' and she wouldn't reply so we left. I was so disappointed with Captain D"s service at 8090 N Davis Hwy and 4373 W Fairfield Dr. My wife and I went online and looked at menu and made our decision on what we were going to order.I am on a healthy diet and normally do not eat at drive thru restaurants. I chose the grilled salmon with green beans and broccoli. We arrived at restaurant at 7:30 pm and a big sign saying enjoy our fire grilled fish.We placed our order and was told the grill is down and could not get fire grilled fish. So we just thought it was broke and then drove across town to Fairfield Drive location and same thing except this time they told us that the grill is turned off at 8:00.What a terrible way to run a restaurant. Captain D's is a very good option when you're wanting a quick, cheap, and filling lunch on a workday. I dropped by the other having not been since six years ago. Almost nothing has changed on their menus, and even the prices have not changed that much. I ordered the Whitefish Platter for $5, which was a pretty good deal - two slices of tilapia, cold slaw, and fries. I almost can't find a fast food meal these days for $5 ~ comparison: the nearby Five Guys charges $5 for a single hamburger. Of course, most of their menu items are fried, which is a big reason I don't come that often. Overall, everything turned out good, and I have no complaints. read more

Definitely enjoyed my White Fish and Shrimp meal on Wednesday. I was able to get it blackened which was an added touch. I stopped through for lunch because I was trying to find a healthier option. Parking is easy, food is more than affordable and I was in and out. This particular day; they had not received their truck so they were out of the broccoli, baked potatoes, corn... majority of their premium sides. However, the young lady that was working the counter was extremely nice. Good service goes a long way especially when they were out of main sides. I ended up trying the fried okra and green beans. Both were good I just wish the beans didn't have the clumps of bacon in it. Other than the sold out premium sides (it happens) the only complaint I had was the burnt skewer that held my shrimp. The end of the stick was burned and as u picked up the stick wood chips were flaking off in my rice so I had to scoop some of my rice out for safety purposes. Prices are more than affordable and they often have coupons. So for those people wanting to make healthier choices, you should definitely try some options from their grilled menu! read more

I'm sorry I apologize I'm not trying to be offensive every time we go to the drive-through to get Captain D's it is so awesome even though I always say fresh and hot well this Sunday in particular is the 16th I notice a different person at the window not to usual server I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not and I apologize like I said I'm not trying to offend nobody the food was really hot I mean cold when I got home it was not hot normally I can get home fix everybody else's dinner and something to drink and then when I go sit down the fish is still typing warm hot this fish cuz I immediately went straight home opened it up and realize it was not hot it was not cooked fresh and hot and I've been told that each order is I asked for tartar sauce cocktail sauce vinegar and fresh big pieces of lemon and a lot of ice none of those above was addressed no sauces no ranch dressing and my drink was kind of like Carly no ice in it I think they just scooped the cup in there and be done with it they don't try to fill the cup all the way up I asked for a lot of ice and that's unusual cuz y'all usually good issues Lee hot I usually get everything I need and I just want to say it didn't stop me from wanting to keep coming back to Captain D's I love Captain D's God bless and be safe oh not that I regret I asked the lady can I leave a tip and I would like to leave a tip for the other ladies too but she said yeah you can leave a tip I gave her $5 and not bragging mind you I am proud that I left it I asked her we should be offended if I gave her a gospel tract and I was so happy that I did that no matter how bad my order was or what I got or didn't get or how good it was I was glad to leave with him and give her a gospel tract and I pray that my service will one day invite her in Jesus's life and she invite Jesus in her life so God bless again and be safe thank you for Captain D's read more

We got to the restaurant about 11:30. We had one couple in front of us. They ordered and then we ordered. Their ticket was #37 and ours was #38. After we ordered we got our drinks and sat down. We had just taken some toys to Ronald McDonald House as a donation. I edited the pictures and posted them on Facebook. I heard the lady call ticket #52. The lady in front of us walked up to see why her order was taking so long. Clerk tried to give her that tray. She said this is not mine. Other couple came up and claimed it. I walked up to check and they were then handing #37 her order. (Fish and fries) nothing special. I handed the clerk my ticket and she started arguing with me that she had already given me my food. I told her it was the #37 couple. Cook chimed in and said he'd already gave us our food. After some more arguing they made our food. Everyone in the restaurant looked at us like we were stealing a meal. We were there just over an hour for two fish dinners. The food was good once we got it. Very unorganized. We eat there every week or so. Hope it gets better and they were just having a bad day. read more
