After having a horrible experience at the david's bridal in freehold where i bought my gown and got my girls dresses my mom suggested I go to this location for alterations. We got my prom gown there years ago and they did a great job then. The seamstress took her time with my hem and bustle making sure every measurement was perfect. When I went back for my final fitting the dress was beyond perfect. I'm so extremely happy with the job that was done. Pricing was very reasonable and the dress is extremely easy to bustle. The whole team took time to show my mom how to bustle the dress and offered to steam my veil when they do my dress. They even agreed to hold the dress a few more days because the weather was so terrible. Awesome experience. read more

I was very hesitant walking into David's Bridal. I wasn't sure what to expect. The first woman I encountered did not make me feel comfortable as I was a walk in. My mother and I had been walking around about a half hour before she came up to us. She was insisting I register to try on dresses and just made it a bit uncomfortable. However, I understood and registered for a bridal consultant. Ms. Marie was my bridal consultant and she was great. She completely turned my experience around. I will specifically be asking for her if I go back for the bridesmaids dresses. The most important thing for me was being comfortable. I didn't want to spend a fortune and Ms. Marie was not trying to up sell me. If you're given the option to request a consultant, ask for Ms. Marie! read more

I am a bridesmaid in an upcoming wedding. My bridesmaid dress was sent all crumpled up and thrown on my doorstep. I open the package eager to try on my dress for my husband to see. However, I was Floored by the HUGE INK STAIN on the front of it. Needless to say, I didn't try it on but now started the whole lengthy and annoying exchange process. I Took the dress back to a David's bridal that's close to my house. They had the audacity to try and have me bring it back to the New Jersey store. I don't think so! They told me they would do me a favor this one time. Are you serious? This company is ridiculous. How did the store not see this huge stain?? Wow. What a disappointment! And Unprofessional!! When I went to pick up my second dress, was told that it was a computer error because they hadn't realized I picked up my first. A wasted trip, which was a little aggravating, but they sent the dress to my house for free so I didn't have to make another, which was nice. I did have to confirm my address twice by phone, which seems a little unorganized, but at the end of the day they fixed the problem as best as they could and the dress was beautiful on the wedding day! read more

Horrible service. I went in with my friend who is getting married and we were actively ignored. I wound up pulling dresses for my friend. The sales people saw me go back and forth with different sized dresses, multiple times, and said nothing. When we were getting ready to leave, my friend asked what the process was to put a dress on hold and the girl asked us who our consultant was. My friend told them that no one spoke to us, everyone ignored us, so she didn't have a consultant. The girl at the counter was shocked, but we were already on our way out. I had an appointment a week ago and Denise was my stylist! She was amazing, and I "said yes to the dress", but I did need my mother to see it when I went to visit her in Florida. We called Denise to place the order and kept having issues with my mothers card. The bank stopped the transaction because it was out of state! Basically I had to call Denise back about 5 different times, and keep her on hold while my mother was on her phone working things out (yelling at) with the bank! It was after closing at the store and Denise patiently stayed on the phone with me and kept trying to put the purchase through. Finally it did! I just can not say enough about her service!!! Horrible experience at this Davids bridal. The guy at the front desk had NO clue what he was doing. He did not look up my bride's party and led me to look for dresses on my own. I tried to find the dress based on a picture and it ended up being the wrong one. Then they looked up the bridal party I was associated with. Twenty minutes later I found my size in the right one. Then at the counter, they rung me out under the wrong bridal party - could not find the right bridal party again. Disaster. They are literally clueless here. read more

This is a rant about this specific location and the employees at this specific location. This is not about the dresses at all David's Bridals. My first experience at the Maple Shade, NJ David's Bridal was a good experience so that's why I went back and that's why I'm so mad. My first experience however was when I was shopping for my wedding dress, the second time I have my bridesmaid's with me and we were shopping for their dresses. My bridesmaid's and I made an appointment for 2:00pm one weekend. One of my bridesmaid's flew up from North Carolina specifically so we could shop for dresses. We all arrived at 2pm and checked in with the girl sitting at the front desk. Our consultant came over carrying 2 wedding dresses. She led us to the bridesmaid's section and told us to take a look at the pictures they had to pick out a few dresses and the she would be right back because she had to get the wedding dresses to a bride she was working with. We said "Okay." and began choosing styles. 45 minutes later after all of my bridesmaid's picked out 2-3 styles each we still were waiting for the consultant to come back and pull the dresses and give us dressing rooms. 55 minutes after our scheduled appointment we were standing around waiting and finally another consultant came over and asked us if we were being helped. We said that we were being helped by a consultant, we gave her her name, and that we were just waiting for her to come back. The other consultant said, "Okay. I'll tell her that you're waiting." and then left. 1 hour and 15 minutes after our scheduled appointment time I went to the front desk girl to have the consultant paged. She still didn't show up. 1 hour and 30 minutes after our scheduled appointment time I finally asked to speak to the manager just to get a different consultant. We got another woman to help us and we were done in less than 20 minutes. I just don't understand why no one would help. All we needed was someone to pull the dresses (which we did ourselves anyway) and to unlock a dressing room door. We realized that our first consultant was probably busy with a bride but if she was she should have stepped away for two seconds and found another consultant to help us. Not leave us sitting there with no help. Then as we were checking out the woman who was supposed to be helping us was checking out another customer and giving me dirty looks along with every other employee working there. I was beyond furious. If I didn't already get my wedding dress there I would not get it there and if I could return my dress I would. That is how angry I am. I would return my dream wedding dress there and get my money back. read more

Went to the store on spur of the moment to try a destination bridal gown I saw online...Ms Marie helped me with that dress, and after I explained my budget and the situation, she recommended a few other dresses for me to try on - nice dresses, and not outrageously priced! At the end of the day, I went with my first choice, but Ms Marie was so helpful and very sweet. I would recommend her to anyone! My reason for 4 stars, and not 5 stars, is that they didn't have the shoes I wanted in stock, and I wound up ordering a more expensive pair through the store. read more

Please don't waste your time! I went to David's Bridal almost two weeks ago to look at bridesmaids dresses. I made an appointment for myself, my MOH and my mom to go. We got there on time but had to wait for our consultant. When we finally met with her, she seemed very rushed and didn't give me any time to think about her questions before she wanted an answer. What upset me the most was that, even though I had an appointment, my consultant was also helping another bride at the same time in the same room!! It was clear to me that the other bride was a more important customer by the way my consultant was acting. I will never ever go back there- it's not worth anyone's time. My suggestion? Don't double book your consultants! It will make people walk out empty-handed. read more

THE WORST! STAFF IS UNPROFESSIONAL! The David's in Mount Laurel should be shut down and all staff retrained on professionalism and customer service. From the start our experience has been terrible. Four out of seven dresses are too small. Myself tried on the sample size, it fit like a glove. The seamstress came over and agreed. We ordered the size. It came in and fit two sizes too small. I know they have no control over the manufacturing but be a little sympathetic as we are pressed for time. Wedding is May 11th and 3 more dresses still have to come in. The bride asked what they would do for us. Manager Donna gave her a really hard time about comping alterations but agreed to waive the rush fee. When I picked up my dress last week, the girl at the front desk told me that we were marked "low priority". Low, really? Wedding is in 20 days. She said she was putting in a note to the manufacturer and making it "high priority". Thanks for that. Please consider going elsewhere when looking for bridal. read more

This post is a couple of months overdue. I purchased my dress from this David's Bridal but had it altered in Plymouth Meeting, which is closer to my work location. My salesgirl at the Maple Shade store was sweet, young, and eager to please, but not necessarily the most experienced. However, I was able to find a nice dress that suited me well, and although, yes, you get lots of stupid phone calls for photographers and limos and DJ's, etc., for a couple of weeks, just ignore them and they go away, or tell them nicely to go away, and they will. Anyway, the dress was altered and looked great, and the seamstress in Plymouth Meeting showed me how to bustle the dress, but, not being a girly-girl who is used to bustling dresses, I paid scant attention and went home, because my friend is a dress bustling queen. Moving on to the day before my wedding, late afternoon, and my wedding-savvy friend tried to check out how to bustle the dress. Let me say that I got the most expensive, complicated bustle known to man, with over a dozen loops, buttons, and snaps. She was perplexed to find that none of the loops were marked - there was NO way to bustle that dress without instruction, and the whole thing was inexplicable. She was frantic, and I was horrified, to say the least. I called the Maple Shade store for help, 15 minutes before the alterations department was due to close. I explained the situation, told them my ceremony was starting early the following day, and we were at a loss. They asked us to come to the store as quickly as possible, which we did. When I saw the seamstresses I started to cry in frustration. They sat me down, reassured me, and quickly went to work on that dress. They also had a hard time figuring out the bustle - evidently one seamstress may alter the bustle in their own, unique style, and they were unfamiliar with it. They were also dismayed that the bustle stays were not marked, so that doesn't reflect well on the Plymouth Meeting store, but these three women, Nora, Sevim, and Irena, stayed 45 minutes past their shift end and bustled that dress for me. They were reassuring, cheerful, and professional, and at the end of it refused to charge me for it, and they all hugged me and gave me back my wedding. I may not have been able to have my dress un-bustled during my wedding day, but since my wedding was in a muddy park anyway, it was all good. If I had needed it, they would have taken the time to teach us how to bustle the dress. As it was, I was just very grateful for their time and kindness. David's Bridal is not a boutique shop. Their dresses may not be top-notch, couture. Their staff is over-worked and stressed out. But their prices are reasonable, the alterations done well. And there is a protocol to a bridal dress shop. You don't walk in without an appointment and expect a team of people to flutter around you. It is what it is. People should know what to expect from David's Bridal. It is like a department store. It is not Kleinfeld's. But it also costs thousands less than many of those stores, and if that is what you need, it's ok to go there. Sometimes it matters more that you are marrying the person you love, and you just want to look nice and have beautiful memories. And David's Bridal enabled me to be able to do just that, and I am grateful. read more

Went here in July 2013 to get 6 Bridesmaids dresses, the woman who helped us was very nice but was also helping other girls as well so it was a little inconvenient...We ended up ordering the dresses which came in early head of time. Not sure if DB ordered the wrong size or the dress manufacturer just SUCK but 4 out of 6 girls had to return their dresses due to the zipper not going up. DB was accommodating about the situation however they gave my sister a dress off the rack which was defective. I made an appointment to take a look at some dresses for my wedding, which is next summer. I had never tried on a wedding dress before, and I certainly didn't expect to find a dress my first time out. I found the process of making an appointment online convenient and easy, and the staff member at the desk was pleasant. My consultant, Irina, was absolutely wonderful! She brought me the appropriate undergarments so I would be able to get an accurate sense of fit, which was SO great; I had brought a bra with me, but it was so much better having the torsolette/bustier and shirt shaper on so I could see what the dress would really look like. She had me show her a few pictures that I had saved on the David's website, then showed me some dresses so I could choose some things to try, while she also selected a few for me. I did not like the first 2 dresses on myself, and was worried that I was going to have trouble with the rest, but Irina easily assessed exactly what I didn't like and went back out to bring me some new dresses based on her observations. She was very helpful in helping me try them on and in making sure I could get an accurate sense of the look, even if the sample was too big or too small. She was very nice and positive and obviously knows her stuff! After trying on only about 5 dresses, she brought me a beautiful A-line, lace and satin dress with a scalloped chapel train that made my eyes light up! I ended up saying "yes" to the dress right then and there, which I had not expected to do! (It was perfectly in my price range, too!) She brought out a bell for me to ring and made sure we had photos at all angles. She was just as excited as we were! She also brought me the perfect tiara headpiece that I will wear on the big day. I had the WORST experience in this store. Not only is the place falling apart, but the sample dresses you have to try on are FILTHY and STAINED. The girl helping me kept going back and fourth between me and another bride, which meant I had to stand in the fitting room by myself for 20 minutes with a dress on, until she came back to help me take it off. They didn't have any open platforms or mirrors for me to look in, because they were overbooked. Nobody that came with me was offered a chair, and every single person working there was nothing but rude. The manager didn't say a word when we explained how awful the experience was. I was supposed to get my dress here, my bridesmaids were going to get their dresses here, as well as mother of the bride and mother of the groom dresses. I will never step foot in David's Bridal again, and I will make sure all my soon to be married friends do the same. This place is a disgrace. I have been to this store multiple times throughout my wedding planning process, and I only left pleased once. The first time, I went to just browse dresses, but I quickly learned that if I did not have an appointment I would be completely ignored. I can totally understand if the store was busy, but I counted three employees standing around doing nothing, two of them were standing behind the counter texting. When I tried to ask one of them a simple question, they said 'if you don't have an appointment, we can't help you now'. Okay, I didn't realize I had to have an appointment to have a simple question answered. Also, the wedding dresses here are terrible quality and look cheap. The second time I went is when all of my bridesmaids got their dresses. This was a nice experience, the only reason we chose David's is because they really do have the best bridesmaids dresses for the lowest prices. (A huge selection too!) Third time was the worst experience of all. I walked in to an empty store, there was one other girl in there trying stuff on. I came in to look at dresses for my bridal shower, and I was by myself. Instead of a hello, I was greeted with 'excuse me!! Sign in before you enter the store.' No hello or how are you doing. I found a bridal shower dress I wanted to try on, and when I asked and employee, she said 'if you don't have an appointment, you can't try that on right now.' REALLY?!?! She was texting while talking to me, which really made me mad. There were about 20 empty dressing rooms in the back of the store! This was a simple bridal shower dress, I did not need help to try this on or anything. I am never returning here again. Even though this store is conveniently only a 10 minute drive from my home and 5 minutes from work, I'll take the 25-30 minute drive to Deptford without thinking twice. The Maple Shade representatives were not polite AT ALL on both of my visits. I made an appointment and arrived on time but I was left standing with my 2 bridesmaids at the door, no "hello" or acknowledgement from the woman my appointment was scheduled with. Another stylist (can't remember his name) was polite enough to acknowledge us on behalf of the woman who was supposed to help us. I completely understand stores get busy and are understaffed, but it would have been nice to have been told "hello, I apologize but I'll be right with you in a moment." That's all. That's retail etiquette 101. I'm a very friendly person and I appreciate anyone in the service/retail industry as it is a stressful environment with rude customers who feel they are entitled to everything. What a disappointment that I was left standing around for nearly 20 minutes. I am patient, but I had enough and told the gentleman that I would not be back, but I did thank him for at least taking the time to acknowledge me even though he was busy with other customers. I immediately called the Deptford store and was told I could come in and they would try to accommodate me as I only needed to try on one dress. Mind you, I did not mention Maple Shade's failure and I would not bash them to a fellow chain. I will gladly express my dismay here on YELP though. I went to Deptford and they were so kind and friendly and I didn't even have to say anything about the terrible experience just moments before. They just have excellent and far superior customer service skills. This is my first and last Yelp review. I'm so disgusted by this store. plain and simple, our experience could not have been more convenient and efficient. my fiancé and I are over 35 so very realistic that so many shopping events are contingent on time and place. ours here was a home run. searching for a wedding dress we had visited multiple locations, searched online and had our decision narrowed to a couple choice items. being referred to David's in Maple Shade we thought it a moderate waste of time. the values of dresses available for us was shocking. most importantly, our consultant, Irina was a grand slam! no pressure, helpful, smart suggestions - and patient. leaving satisfied and undecided we eventually returned (10-14 days later) due to Irina's service and the value. My daughter wanted her grandmother to see the dress she selected in another state near where she lives. So we made an appointment at the Maple Shade store and Miss Marie was our consultant. She was fabulous! She was patient and even suggested other dresses for my daughter to try on. In the end, she stayed with her first pick. Even though we were not buying the dress in NJ, but rather at the other David's Bridal store, Miss Marie was gracious and made my daughter and her grandmother feel special. I hope the Management of David's Bridal recognizes her even though she did not "make the sale" at that store. read more

This is the worst customer service i have ever experienced. I went in saying my budget was $1500 - given that you'd expect to be put with a good salesperson to make sure they get a sale from the business aspect but the opposite happened I was stuck with Ms Maria. Went in with a 2:00 appointment and they were 30 minutes late, while you are there they have a time limit of 90 minutes so even though the woman wasted 30 of mine they made sure to kick me out right at 3:30. My sisters & mom pulled my dresses for me because we were waiting for so long. My sister even had to help me get dressed/undressed a couple of times because the woman was no where to be found. It was absolutely awful dealing with Ms Maria - the times she was around she was pressuring me into a sale and once I told her that I wasn't going to buy a dress that day (i was tired of hearing her sell me on every one) she was over the appointment. She was an elderly woman and was having difficulties even helping me in/out of the gowns and was very slow with bringing me back dresses, on a time limit especially when shes late, every minute counts. My sister had to pull a sash off the display because once again she was MIA and got yelled at by some random woman working there. She kept pulling me dresses with things i said i didn't want (i said strapless - she pulled one with the covering up to my neck, i said beading she came back with plan white nothing on it). Once i found a dress I actually liked it was 3:30 and she said she had to go to her next appointment and just left me standing there, didn't help me out of the dress, didn't thank me for coming in or congratulate me- just walked away and that was that. I tried telling a woman at the front my concerns of how frustrated I was, as soon as a new customer came in she stopped talking to me completely & focused on them. She never once apologized or tried to hear me out. I am disgusted with this David's Bridal and would never go to another location for the pure fact of how awful this place is. read more

I don't even want to give this place one star. It was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. We had one hurdle after another for my sister's wedding. I never give a place a negative review but they were disturbing. Never once did we receive good customer service. Even when we called over the phone! ! It was absolutely horrible. They could never find our orders. They would tell my sister (the bride) she was wrong when it was their mistake and would never apologize after being proven it was their mistake. Instead they just seemed angry for being wrong. Even the way the employees acted towards one another was appalling. They would blame each other when something didn't go right. I remember hearing one employee complain to a customer that she was supposed to leave by 5 (it was ten after 5) and made the customer feel so uncomfortable since she was keeping the employee late. That is not acceptable and that didn't even happen to our bridal party. I witnessed that!! I'm so absolutely furious with this place that I can't even write out specific examples without fuming. I will encourage everyone to stay far away from this place. Not to mention.. I believe their customer service is a problem with the whole company considering one of our bridesmaids lived in Georgia and they were really rude to her as well. David's bridal needs to get their act together before the whole company goes downhill. I went in yesterday to find a bridesmaids dress with my MOH, since she's the most picky. I made an appointment, and waited 25 minutes for the consultant. Then when she got around to helping us, she asked what dresses we wanted to try on, not helping narrow our vision. I could've done that! She gave my sister who wears a size 8 a dress in size 22 to try on. Then when it comes time to trying on dresses so was so busy with another party she didn't check in with us, except once after dress 1, we got to dress 4 with no help, and pretty frustrated because we had questions. We walked out and I'm pretty sure she didn't even notice. I told the ladies in the front this was the worst experience and instead of trying to engage in a conversation to make things better, they went back to their conversation. read more

I'll be the first to admit, I was not looking forward to going to David's Bridal. However, after three trips to different bridal salons trying on higher end dresses and not being able to find a wedding gown that I absolutely had to have, my mom suggested we take a trip. I am glad I did! We went on a week night and had the whole bridal area to ourselves. My consultant was amazing, helping, understanding...I couldn't be more happy with her. I chose three dresses and the first one I put on was it. I knew it, my mom knew it and even after knowing me for only ten minutes, the consultant knew it too. I contined trying on the remaing ones I had chosen but in the end we put the first one back on, added a veil and I probably stood in the dress for a good twenty minutes with a smile on my face. I never felt rushed even though it was getting close to closing time. Everyone I interacted with from there was wonderful and to my surprise I had found THE dress at this David's Bridal. It takes time, but look around. They do have quality dresses. My budget was in the price range for designer dresses from other bridal salons but in the end I felt amazing in the Vera Wang dress from David's Bridal :) read more

If it were possible I would give NO stars. Absolutely appalling. We had an appointment, were ushered in and told to pick out our bridesmaids dresses and that the woman our appointment was with would be "right back." So we waited. And waited. After an hour and asking for someone else to help, we still only were receiving glares from other employees as though we were in the way. Not one person stopped to ask if we had been helped. After an hour and a half of waiting, we finally spoke with a manager who ACTUALLY SAID "aw man, that sucks" Really? Could you be more unprofessional? When we finally did get someone to help us she literally did nothing. Our bride pulled the dresses for us, and we were out in 20 minutes. Over 1.5 hours of waiting for 20 minutes? Oh, and we never did see the woman who we actually had an appt with, she was busy with a bride. My son and daughter are both getting married in the next 6 months. So my daughter, my best friend and I were dress shopping for a mother of the bride and a mother of the groom dress. This is never fun because I HATE dress shopping. My friend, who loves shopping and approaches it as if we were going into battle, had done some online scouting for stores with the best selection of plus size dresses. She decided that David's Bridal was the place to go. We walked in on a Saturday morning without an appointment, who knew you needed an appointment to spend money, and started shopping. I tried on at least 12 dresses that were on the rack in my size and found 2 that everyone agreed were perfect. The best part of the whole experience and the reason I am writing the review was Marie A. Smith, our consultant. She had other ladies to help but she was there smiling and patient ready to zip me into or out of a dress. She found dresses that she thought I might like and I actually did buy one of her suggestions. She worked with my best friend who found a dress she loved for my son's wedding and she took the extra time to find the perfect wrap to match the dress. Marie made the whole experience so much better and so much easier. So kudos to whoever had the good sense to hire someone with a lovely personality, lots of patients, knowledge of her stock and an eye for what will suit the plus size figure.
