I used to think of this as a cheesy "old person's" store because that is the clientele I remember…read moreseeing there, plus my grandparents (God rest their beloved souls) shopped here and ALOT and were on the frugal side. In fact, Boscov's was the ONLY credit card they EVER HAD! They were so cute . . . Anyway, with the decline of poor (formerly Echelon Mall) Voorhees Town Center, Boscov's is the only anchor (dept) store left here! They have me captive and now I'm a customer AND fan! The ladies dept has beautiful formal dresses; the children's dept has nice clothing and great deals and I really "mopped up" on Champion brand (heavy weight) tees & shorts for my son a few weeks ago. I splurged a bit on myself in both the jewelry & home decor departments. I'm guessing I got bargains due to the post holiday season. I bought two beautiful pair of earrings (one, rhinestone stars - $8; the other, abalone oblong ovals $15). Lastly, I got a set of precious/beautiful mother/babies set of Oleg Cassini crystal ducks (see photo). They were half priced. There was a huge assortment of animals (hummingbirds, penguins, fish) and insects (butterflies, dragonflies), etc. (mushrooms, a clam with a "pearl", paperweights) to choose from! Last month I got a pair of shoes for work that I just love (so comfy) plus a few 6-packs of ankle socks for my daughter for only $1.99/ea! A bonus to shopping here is that you can get in and out quickly. The mall is all but dead now and there are usually more than enough cashiers around. They still even offer free gift wrap in Customer Service (lower level near toys). Lastly, check out the candy department with Godiva and Asher's if you're in a bind for a gift or want a yummy treat. You can even just buy a single chocoalte covered pretzel, etc., if you have a whooley!

Reasonable pricing with lots of sale items. Hardest part was finding a sales person for help as many of the checkout counters are closed. Staffing is at a limited.

This store goes way beyond just selling running shoes. While footwear is clearly their main focus,…read morethey also stock all the extras that runners actually need, ranging from arch supports to moisture-wicking gear to even post-workout shoe odor remover. It's a one-stop shop for training and recovery. What really makes it stand out, though, is the staff... They're not just friendly, but actually know their stuff. They'll watch your running stride right in the store (tread mill) and recommend the best shoe for your running style, all at no extra cost, in the name of friendly service. It feels more like being helped by a coach than just a salesperson. If you're serious about running, training, or even just taking a Sunday stroll, this is the kind of place that makes you feel set up for success.

They'll be slick and give you these black socks to try on, and then charge you at the end unless you say no. They'll charge you $150 for orthotic type inner soles at the end too without telling you the price upfront. I had to tell them no to everything. I can get my own custom made orthotics for nothing. The salesperson did say that my orthotics from them can get reimbursed through insurance. If that's true, great if not, we have a problem if she gives out false information to customers. They FORCE the VIP club down your throat, it's disgusting. I would not come here again.

But even before, when I lived in Pennsauken and Collingswood, I still made the effort to come here for all things running related. I'm a lifelong runner, and a lifelong Haddonfield Running Company customer. I've never had a bad experience. The shoe selection is incredible. The staff know everything about them and can watch you run and help you pick out shoes based on your gait, your running history and goals, your past purchases, etc. They'll sit and work with you one-on-one to find the perfect shoe for you. They have a ton of other gear as well, of course. Everything you need to help you run. The owner, Dave Welsh, is one of the most outgoing and friendly guys you'll ever meet. He is constantly giving back to the community by sponsoring and/or personally organizing local events both out in the surrounding area and in the Haddonfield store. The store often hosts guest speakers in the basement of the store, or will invite shoe companies to bring their shoes to the weekly Wednesday night group run and let people test run their shoes for the whole 6.6 mile course. The store also does sidewalk sales a few times a year where they drastically reduce prices on shoes and other items. I once got a pair of Nikes for $40. Doesn't matter if you're a newbie runner or a veteran, everyone is welcome here. Stop in for the quality products and advice, stay for the amazing community of runners you'll find here.
