They told me to browse the dresses while I waited for the associate to come over. I had to have alterations to my beaded gown, which is very detailed. The price for alterations was almost as expensive as the gown, which kind of threw me for a loop. My 1st fitting was not what I wanted. So the 2nd one the head seamstress came in and did them free of course. She is very nice, professional and made sure to take notes this time. David's Bridal also has everything you need for your special day, right there in the store. I went to the Maple Shade store. Their shoes are priced just right. I looked everywhere for the perfect shoe, and to my delight David's had a large selection of beautiful shoes priced just right! They also had a beautiful selection of jewelry, hair pieces, flower girl dresses and every possible accessory you can imagine. FOR THE BRIDE TO BE, girls look no farther. David's has a beautiful selection of gowns that I think are very reasonably priced. Every kind of gown from simply elegant to the Cinderella dress, to the bridal gowns like my daughter purchased, which is form fitting, looks as if it is nude under the 3 layers of soft, beautifully made lace with a spectacular beading pattern that takes your breath away when she put it on. Our eyes filled up with tears as this was indeed the perfect dress for her. And last but not least the bottom was a mermaid flare, which shows off the layers of detailed lace, with sparkle that makes you go WOW. As she turned around and smiled, we knew this was the perfect dress. She is 30 something and wanted an elegant, stunning bridal gown. The experienced young woman who helped us listened carefully as to what my daughter imagined, she was quick, knowledgeable and knew how to present the dress, as she quickly clipped it up so we could imagine how it would look after alterations. So I definitely recommend David's bridal. Their vast assortment of bridal gowns is amazing. Rows and rows of beautiful gowns for any bride to pick from. I've had two very different experiences at this David's Bridal location, which is how I landed on 3 stars. THE FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE: I booked an appointment online to check out some wedding dresses on a week night. When I arrived I was matched up with a bridal consultant. Together we looked through different options and selected various dresses to try on. The consultant was willing to work with whatever request I had- she was even happy to take dresses of mannequins. She helped me in and out of all the dresses, and never once was pushy. David's had a huge variety of dresses to try on in every price range. I think this is the perfect spot to start your wedding dress search- just make sure your appointment is during the week. THE ONE STAR EXPERIENCE: After coming here for wedding dresses, and seeing all the bridesmaid options I scheduled an appointment to come here on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 7. We should have turned around when there were no parking spots, but we didn't. We could hardly enter the store as it was packed and totally unorganized. We showed ourselves to a few racks with dresses, and picked some out to try on. Finding a dressing room was impossible. Eventually we were matched with a consultant who took us to the back dressing rooms- which were even crazier. There was nowhere to stand, and other consultants were rude. If you plan on coming here for bridesmaid dresses, come during the week. It is not worth the craziness & rudeness that comes with it. read more

I've had the best experiences with David's bridal! My first appointment with Irina I purchased my wedding dress and two veils. She was patient and genuinely invested in me finding a dress that suited my personality. When my dress arrived, I made an appointment to try on accessories with her. I ended up purchasing shoes, earrings, and two jumpsuits to wear for bachelorette party, rehearsal dinners, etc. I'm so happy with my experience, the quality for the price. I'm not sure why anyone would go anywhere else to find the perfect wedding dress, especially if they are on a budget. I tried on at least 20 different dresses all within my budget range, which was around $600. The women working there were absolutely fantastic. Specifically, my consultant Amy, made me feel like I was at home. She was so friendly, accommodating, and honest. It's so hard these days to find a sales person, who doesn't just try to force a sale on you. Amy felt more like a friend than a sales woman. She was fantastic from start to finish, and the manager even remembered us from the last time we were in there. The entire store was clean, organized, and welcoming. Generic (inexpensive) bridal store that doesn't look like it has been redone since the 80s. The manager is very nice and helpful (a FAR CRY from their terrible location in Deptford). One of the associates, Irina, is amazing. Irina can guess your size and suggest dresses that flatter your figure. I had another associate for another bridesmaid's appointment, and she wasn't anything to write home about. My wedding dress took 2 weeks to come in, and my veil was at the store within a week. This isn't Kleinfeld's, but then again, you go here because you don't want to pay those prices. This store, like most bridal stores, tries to get you with alterations. DO NOT get your dress altered here. The bustles are impossible to do, and they are 2x the price of local (much better) tailors. read more

If i had to rate based off of my first appt than it would not have been so high, since my consultant Amy seems to have been double booked or ran longer with her other appt. But even though I was given the option of browsing for my own dresses and left to entertain myself with my dress after she fit me in it, I was comfortable. And because i do work in a service industry, I understand that things can run behind schedule and didnt mind so much. My last store visit elsewhere hovered and tried to sell so much that I loved my private time. Even though Amy lacked the attentiveness with me that day, ALL 5 dresses she had picked for me fit so well that all I had to do was hem it was a miracle. All the dresses fit, stayed within my budget, and didnt try to sell me veils and belt sashes. LOVED IT. Rebooked with Amy for the following week for myself and my bridesmaids and the experience was fantastic. Amy helped me into a random dress that I found while browsing the racks(which turned out to be THE ONE) and then tried on the previous ones from last week. She was so patient, didnt rush. My group brought some beverages in (which wasn't allowed) but she didnt seem to mind; as we did clean up after ourselves. She also made it an easier experience for me and my bridesmaids not rushing them and helping them in their sizes. Ensuring their discounts (or mines, since I'm paying) and making sure that the dresses will ship to the girls if needed. Overall a wonderful experience! I feel like David's has really come a long way from the David's of yesteryear. Years ago, you used to be able to spot a David's gown from a mile away since they had such a limited number of styles. But as of late they've really stepped up their game. Maybe collaborating with Vera Wang raised their profile a bit. The bridesmaid gown selection is very plentiful in any color imaginable. They have some truly gorgeous dresses. Unfortunately my sister did not pick one of those! But hey, I digress. My sister's wedding gown is stunningly beautiful. It suits her perfectly and she is going to kill it on her big day! While I watch from the sidelines in a shapeless frock. But I ain't mad! The lady helping us was a little abrasive in the way that only an Eastern European seamstress can be. But she gets the job done and is very thorough. She just may make comments about your weight a dozen or so times. But all in all David's really improved over the years and if I can ever trick someone into marrying me again this would be my first stop. read more

I was at the Maple Shade location on Friday 3/30 and I had an appointment for 1230. I showed up a half an hour early, with my two bridesmaids as well as two girls looking for their prom dresses. I was in no rush since it was my day off. Associate gave me time to walk the floor, before my consultant came. Prior to this, I've already been to this location three times: one for my wedding dress, and the other times for bridesmaids dresses. Bottom line: not my first rodeo. Rose greeted me nonchalantly and walked us to the dressing room and performed the most amazing magic act I've ever seen: she completely disappeared! Though I do appreciate the independence and space, I don't understand why I would need an appointment if no one is helping. Fast forward, time to purchase their dress. I had to find Rose, not vice versa. I understand the store may be understaff, but as she's helping me, someone walks in, and she is more attentive to them than me, which is a big no no for me, especially at that moment, and I am the paying customer. Although I've already made many purchases at DB, I think it is just ideal to run through the nonrefundable policy as well as the shipping/pick up. Rose did not say a word, and she looked miserable. Finally, when I was finished, I was waiting for her to send me off, say thank you, have a good day, you know something basic. Instead, we just stood there lackadaisically. Final words: I think Rose should consider employment at Walmart as a greeter because I think its more suitable for her. Only giving this location three stars because Ashley, who helped me prior was a doll! She is the redeeming factor! She deserves a raise DB! Promote her so she can train individuals like Rose. I first saw this beautiful Gown in a David Bridal's Advertisement. I wanted it for my upcoming 60th Birthday Party. I was enamored when I learned that it was going on sale! YAY!... I quickly made an appointment to go in to the Maple Shade location to try it on but was disappointed when I learned that they did not carry that particular gown at that location. What a blessing it was to be assigned to Consultant Tamika Wynter! Although it was a very busy Saturday morning, and she was assigned to other clients during the same appointment time as myself, she was SO graciously accommodating and searched high and low via Web and Phone for that Gown. She found it and had it shipped to the Maple Shade Location for a later appointment for a fitting. Thank you Tamika Wynter YOU ROCK!! The Gown is gorgeous but needed alterations. Consultants Amy and Meghan made what could've been an awful alterations appointment experience into a BEAUTIFUL experience. Equipped with photos and a general idea of what I wanted as far as price and style were concerned really guided my search to make it a painless process. The first 30 minutes of browsing and trying to navigate around several wedding parties was disheartening and chaotic.... then a salesperson asked about my bridal consultant to which I said "huh?". That's when Irina came over and turned my frown upside down. LOL After a few questions and looking at the pictures I had saved on my phone she gathered a half dozen dresses to start with. Winner was lucky #3!!!! I went in to "look around" and walked out with the dress of my dreams!!! I highly recommend Irina, she's a gem and never once pushed me or rushed me. Had the worst experience here. Went yesterday to pick out bridesmaid dresses with the bride and our associate could not wait to rush us out the door. She was very short with us and rude. Took me 10 minutes to try on dresses during our hour long appointment, and the bride requested to take a look at dresses for her reception, to which our associate said she did not have time for, showed us a small rack and promptly walked away. It's a shame because the bride would have been so happy to buy both our bridesmaid dress and her reception dress at this location had the associate given us the time of day. She couldn't care less about the bride's special day and made us both feel horrible walking out. Yesterday was my first time shopping for a bridal gown, so I figured David's Bridal would be a good place to start. I went to the location in Deptford, NJ, where my consultant, Tiffany, reminded me of Effie Trinket from Hunger Games: not the most effective human, but SO enthusiastic lol There were things that frustrated me-- she didn't pull dresses from my online favorites profile (which she had access to and we looked at together) until I MADE her on the last dress, with only 12 minutes left in the appointment. She asked for opinions from other brides' friends & family sitting around us BEFORE asking the opinion of my sister/MoH who was sitting right there. She discouraged me from video chatting in my bridesmaids (yay Covid coping mechanisms) right away because she didn't want their opinions to "overwhelm" mine, but the minute I said I didn't think the first dress flattered my body, she started disagreeing with me and asked another bride's entourage who were sitting there watching to agree with her in overwhelming my opinion that it wasn't a good dress for me. She was trying to be supportive, she really was, but I had a minor panic attack on their little runway, put my foot down that I needed my bridesmaids, and fled to the dressing room with my MoH and my laptop to set up the video chat. Fortunately, I'm very opinionated and strong willed, but if you're a bride who isn't super comfortable putting your foot down, bring someone with you who can advocate for you. My MoH and one of my bridesmaids, both of whom have gone with other friends to David's Bridal appointments, told me my experience was pretty par for the course. It's okay; I'm going to go back for a second appointment, and will be even more prepared to stand up for myself. But that's the bad stuff. Why did I give 4 stars with all that bad? Because of the good stuff; here it comes: Tiffany was SO. SUPPORTIVE. So nice. So sweet. So bouncy, optimistic, and enthusiastic. Body positivity 100%. She's like if someone cross-bred the most supportive sorority sister ever with a puppy who just wants you to be happy. Never once a single hint that something was wrong with me for being plus sized; when I was having body issues on the runway, she was wringing her hands going, "No girl you look gorgeous, omg I wish I could hug you!!" There were tons of dresses to try on in my size; I was scared they'd have all of like 5 sample dresses in a size 16, but that wasn't the case. She was SUPER budget conscious, and took me over to the clearance racks before anything else. She took alterations into account with my budget, too, and I never once felt like she was trying to up-sell me. I didn't buy my dress yesterday (need to sit and look at the photos and think on it, maybe try on a few more), and she was 100% cool with that, which was fantastic! I didn't feel pressured at all to buy, so I didn't feel bad walking out empty handed, I felt excited that ultimately I found out a lot about what I like on me and what I don't, and came out with two strong contenders and a plan for next appointment. All in all, I'm looking forward to going back; next time I'll just try and schedule for a less busy time of day, and make the point to Tiffany that it doesn't take the whole store to find my dress, and as much as I appreciate the supportive and enthusiastic environment, I'd prefer a little more privacy instead. read more

I've probably been watching too many episodes of Say Yes to the Dress. That must be the reason why walking into David's Bridal felt like walking into a time warp back to the 80s. The cheesy music, the terrible decor. Kleinfeld's twas not. My visit was specifically for bridesmaid dress shopping for my friend's wedding. Our sales rep was somewhat helpful. I'm not sure if she had other appointments at the same time or what, but my friend's mom actually did a better job retrieving the correct dresses and the appropriate sizes for the bridal party. The common area in the dressing room was a bit tight, with only one large mirrored area for everyone in the fitting room to share. The individual rooms were quite roomy, however. I felt like the bridesmaid dress selection was a little weak, but they did have tons and tons of wedding gowns. Erin F's experience as a bride-to-be was quite positive, and I'm kind of a novice when it comes to these matters. I'm curious to see how this store would compare with others in the area. read more

Do not ever buy a dress in store at David's Bridal, have the salesperson buy it for you online. All sales are final at the David's Bridal stores, but purchases through their websites can be returned. Try on dresses at the store, get the product ID, then purchase online (or have the salesperson buy it online for you). Like all bridal stores, the accessories are fairly overpriced (especially veils). Etsy or BHLDN will give you something much nicer for much less. I tried on wedding dresses during a time when the store was completely empty, which made for a pleasant experience. The bridal consultant I had was pretty laid back and just let me and my entourage do our thing, finding the dresses we liked in appropriate sizes. We purchased a dress and a veil (heat of the moment), and I hadn't realized that all sales were final as my mother was paying. No one thought to tell the bride who actually wears the dress. We bought the items as the store was closing, the next business day I called 20 minutes after they opened to cancel the purchase of the veil, and was told that the item was listed as 'processing' and could not be canceled. I was given store credit. The whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I'd really like to return everything, but cannot because I'm locked into David's Bridal archaic sales policies. DB brick-and-mortar stores really need to get with the 21st century program like their website. There's no reason they should not be able to take cancellations within 20 minutes of ordering. In the meantime, my dress's price has dropped $150 online, and I still have not received my dress (now 2 months later), having paid full price. What exactly is the point of ordering the dress in store? Other than all this awfulness, my experience bridal dress shopping at this DB location was quite pleasant. Edit: As vaguely referenced in the original review, I have obtained store/merchandise credit for the veil since my order could not be truly cancelled. The store has already made it quite clear there is no way to "assist [me] further." Merchandise credit can supposedly be used for alterations, but I cannot return my dress, nor can I get it for its current [cheaper] online selling price. read more

I wasn't even going to write this review because of how responsive corporate was, until one of my bridesmaid's had ANOTHER issue with this store. So Brides Beware- I was not expecting to have an amazing experience here, but I was expecting a half decent one. I made an appointment and arrived on time with 2 of my bridesmaids to be given a sales consultant who was also helping out 4 other groups of women. I started to tell her what we were looking for, and instead of listening , she pointed to 3 rows of bridesmaids dresses and told us to start looking while dashing off to help another group. Fine, we're all self sufficient women and can look through racks ourselves. When I found the "consultant" to tell her we were ready to try on - she looked at what the girls had in their hands and said she doesn't really allow girls to go in the dressing rooms without at least 3 dresses each. So we grabbed a few more knowing we had no intention of trying them on just to be allowed in the fitting room. Once my girls were in the dressing rooms, the sales "consultant" proceeded to complain to me about how much she hates doing Bridesmaids Dresses and she was hired to be a Bridal Consultant and there is no real money in it for her to help with Bridesmaids since the commission is smaller. .While my girls were trying on dresses, I had to listen to this "consultant" go on and on about this issue. We found a dress we liked, and wanted to try on a similar style. The consultant asked me why and I explained my sister wanted a dress with somewhat of a strap to it. She asked me why my sister wasn't there then to try it on. At least 4 times during our 30 minute appointment, she kept telling me I needed to get all my bridesmaids into one store to be able to purchase the dresses I explained multiple times we are visiting a David's Bridal because this is not possible as every girl lives in a different part of the country, and the people who COULD be there already were. We finally decided on two styles of dresses and I explained to her that my mother would be visiting a store in Northern Jersey with my 2 sisters to try on the styles and make a final decision if these were going to be the bridesmaids dresses. Once again, she told me they should be coming down to this store so they can try on the right styles and when will I be making another appointment? understand needing to make a sale- but making your customer feel pressured into booking an appointment with every bridesmaid despite being told multiple times that it was not possible should not be a standard within a store. The most recent issue was when my Bridesmaid received her dress and tried it on and found out it wouldn't zip up. She tried on a particular size in the store and came back another time to order it. When she did order it, she told them she tried on XYZ size in the store so she'd order that. Not once did they think to mention to her that the sizes in the store are usually stretched out from so many people trying it on and she should get measured to find out what size would be a true size. Luckily, they did not give her much of a hard time and exchanged her dress for a larger one. I will say the Store Manager at this location along with Corporate called me to discuss this issue in significant detail and to try and resolve the issue. I will give them credit for realizing their employees mistakes and trying to make them right- but overall, I found the experience to be horrendous. read more

Bought a beautiful bridesmaid dress here. Good prices. had to order the dress and it came quicker than expected, maybe about 6 weeks after ordering. Only complaint is that they charge a fee for steaming (if you don't get alterations) even though the dress got delivered to the store all wrinkled. read more

David's Bridal - Bridal Near Me - Maple Shade, New Jersey

The hardest thing for me about this David's Bridal location is actually getting to the store! Ahh, New Jersey, land of no left turns. My first couple of visits had my GPS confused and my eye even more confused. And I am pretty sure I confused the nice folks in the limousine service place next door, as I illegally turned into their parking lot and maneuvered my way into David's parking lot (the wrong way) a couple of times. Then I figured out how to get there without breaking traffic laws (I think.) Basically, you can see this location from route 38, but it's really on route 73. Sorta. You have to go on route 41 to even access 73 to get to it. That makes a lot of sense, right? So you have the drivers and the bridesmaids and the brides and mothers hanging out in one convenient place. Talk about elevated stress levels. You can cut the tension with a knife in there. And it's no wonder! I am not sure anyone really and truly wants to be there. Even the brides. Because let's face it: shopping for bridal wear is a pain in the rear end. I have found that this location is very helpful and the staff has been nothing but nice and knowledgeable. It is somewhat awkward at times because they do tend to leave you in the dressing room by yourself with the dresses you are trying on for a long time. My first visit, I was in the room with my dress on and ready for inspection for at least 25 minutes until I finally walked myself to the front desk and asked where my consultant went. My second visit, I knew the drill so my MIL and I looked for the consultant right away. She was nowhere to be found so we wound up working with someone else up front to finish the appointment. They are really nice about emergency situations. I ordered a dress in one size at first and then a few days later realized that I needed a different size. We called and got an appointment for the next week to do an even exchange. It was very nice of them to accommodate us like that. It would have been a disaster had the original order gone through and we would have had to do a lot of alterations that probably would have cost a fortune and ruined the dress. If you don't like cookie-cutter, "factory" bridal salons, then this is not the place for you. But as far as David's goes, this is a great location. So long as you find it. read more

I had an awesome experience shopping for a wedding dress at David's Bridal. All the staff was very welcoming, including Debbie who was my attendant. It was my first time looking, she was very patient, helped me try on a bunch of different styles and kept a positive attitude the entire time. After we figured out my style more, she recommended some dresses for me to try on too! Knowledgeable and super friendly.
