I came here to buy a prom dress and spent an hour and a half working with the women in the back to find the perfect options. I left to think it over and came back less than 24 hours later, only to be told that the price had been doubled overnight. This is absolutely unacceptable. The level of greed shown by this company is appalling and completely unprofessional. To change the price after just 18 hours feels dishonest and disrespectful to customers' time and trust. This review is for the alteration department, not the store as a whole. We brought my dress in for alterations and were shocked to say the least at the terrible customer service. A lovely lady at the front directed us to the alteration department where another lady quickly came over and started inspecting the dress. She repeatedly said "no" before even seeing and hearing what we wanted done with the dress. She also kept interrupting us, and reminding us over and over "this will cost money" (which is obvious). She was no help whatsoever and quite rude and short. She also seemed to have 0 comprehension regarding anything we were telling her and again, she just kept saying "no" and "this will cost you money" etc. Eventually she just walked away (with no goodbye or explanation) and another slightly more helpful lady came over to talk to us, but again seemed to have little understanding of what we were saying. Thank goodness we didn't have to pay for this experience (hence the 1 star- otherwise I would give it 0), and I will not be recommending them for any other alterations. read more

We stopped by around 7 PM just to browse. The store was pretty empty and there weren't a lot of sales consultants so we decided to come back on the weekend. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and informed that there would be no one there to help us. We decided to come back and we were told that we couldn't even browse the store because there were too many appointments and all of the dressing rooms were booked. I was so confused why I couldn't even look around, I can only assume that in their minds people who are looking around will ultimately want to try something on. When I asked when I could return they weren't able to give me a time but told me to come back another day. Honestly, I didn't bother returning to this location. I ended up calling two other David's Bridals in the area and when I asked if I could look around when I got there they were super confused as to why I would ask. I had an appointment scheduled with my mother and mother-in-law to shop for mother of the bride/groom dresses. We had an appointment at 10:30. It was very busy when we arrived, which is understandable because it was a Saturday and April is the start of wedding season. We checked in with the person at the front and she said we could start browsing and a stylist would come help us. We started looking through the dress racks, but no one came to check in on us or help us. We were all surprised at the lack of sizes as well. Most of the dresses were smaller sizes, like 0, 2, or 4, and then very large sizes, like 20 and larger with nothing in-between. The dresses were so crammed together on the racks that it was hard to look at styles and sizes. We ended up just taking a few dresses we found to the back where the fitting rooms were. We found my name on the sticker on the fitting room door, so we just started trying dresses on. No one helped us out still, and the one sales associate we saw back there was rushing around trying to help a lot of other parties out, so we didn't want to bother her. My mom ended up finding a dress she loved, so we went to the front and checked out. The woman who helped us check out was helpful and nice, which is why I added another star to this review instead of giving one star. My mom was able to get back into alterations right away, and the alterations women who helped us were awesome! That was the only saving grace of our time at David's Bridal. I would not return due to the poor customer service and lack of dress sizes and selections. read more

Are you kidding? What kind of B.S. is this!! So she gave them the 5 star review and when it was posted and they saw it, then they sold her the dress. I would honestly give less than one star if possible 3/6 bridesmaid dresses I got back were wrong, one came with a security tag on it (ordered online) which you know it's fine they will take it off, one came to small (tried on in store) had to order another one, another mysteriously went missing when they got it at the store and almost refused a refund after the dress would've came after the alteration date and then 5 days online to my house and THEY LOST IT. Not to mention is came with a huge hole that they said they would fix and didn't Then my wedding dress which fit perfectly (size 16) at the shop walked out with the dress and they still gave me the wrong dress. (Size 12) thankfully paid for some of the alterations but the alterations were sketchy and 2 of the loops came off on my wedding day Keep in mind I also got the most expensive dress in the whole store. Dresses come and you get 0 notifications. And then apparently they will give them out to anyone. So if you want a free dress go here lol this. The owner of the store is a rude snob but everyone else there is thankfully very nice but it's very chaotic DONT GO ON A WEEKEND, even someone who worked there said it was her "part time job" and won't be working here long so that was lovely after she barely knew anything but she was the nicest one there other than the lady who helped pick my dress. I would not recommend this store. I guess I believe that when you pay thousands of dollars at one place, you should be treated professionally. If you think like I do... go elsewhere. No one is in the same page. You get different information depending who you ask. Even though they measure you BEFORE they order your dress.... They order it too large so they can make money from you on the alterations. While the alterations women are nice.... My dress was not professionally altered. The hem wasn't even and the zipper was higher on one side than the other. Most of my bridesmaids paid more in alterations than they did for their dresses. Ridiculous!!! None of the staff seem to enjoy their jobs... including the managers. Save yourself unnecessary stress and shop elsewhere. read more

Don't waste your time. We made 2 appointments back to back for my brothers wedding. My step mom was taking us shopping. She lives 4 hours away. We had a limited time. They said we only had one even though we had a confirmation email for both. I was told to select dresses to try on and was snapped on rudely by another associate and told "you can only select 5! How many do you have?...." I had 7. This particular associate proceeded to treat us rudely and say "well I'll let you have 7 but you only have 30 minutes!" (Which we knew. According to the appointments we made) But my poor sister in law whose appointment they didn't have in the "system" was told that because she didn't have an appointment in their system she was considered a walk in. And was told she'd have to share a room with me. Then once we showed the confirmation email it our appointment she got her own room so we thought things had turned around. But no. After 15 minutes of my 30 minute appointment I was told we were going to need to leave soon and I felt hardly taken care of. I saw this associate being nice to everyone else who was "in the system" but not my stepmom sister in law an I. We were treated like burdens who needed to hurry up and move along for the more important people. I ended up letting our associate and her manager know that our experience was awful. This was my first stop for a dress. I had no idea what to expect but Latoya was PHENOMENAL. Latoya was patient, kind, listened, took my lead (for what would/wouldn't work/and price), considered feedback with new dresses, and was never offended when I said "no" to a dress. She helped me learn and develop the visions that I had and DID NOT pressure me to make a decision. She had my style down in a matter of 3 dresses and was amazing at adding accents (veil, belts) and alteration options! So while I didn't say "yes" to a dress, she made my first dress stop SO amazing. I called in to make an appointment and was told no one was assigned to help me. I think she was the manager and said that I would have Natalie help me -- fine no big deal either way. Natalie showed us the wall of long dresses and said to take a look and she'd be come back. Thankfully I have been a bridesmaid before so I knew how to search for dresses by myself so we walked around. Probably 15 min later she came back and asked how we were doing so I gave her a few numbers and asked her to pull. She proceeded to pull them, leave us at the dressing room and then left again. Just want to be clear there was literally NO ONE else in the ENTIRE STORE. After we finished trying on our dresses, we literally stood there looking at each other until another associate asked us if we needed help and I asked if she could help us find Natalie who was supposed to be assisting us. She apologized and said sometimes there are other parties with more needs and associates typically have two parties at once which is the standard. Ok-- if you usually do that, might be a good idea to check on both. Second, why don't you put both parties in the same area so you are easily assecible to both? Either way, it was a horrendous experience. I've never heard good things from this location and even after having them jot down my numbers, will tell my bridesmaids to look elsewhere. My daughter and I stopped in looking for a dress for Homecoming. We had an appointment with Tiana and after my daughter had tried on numerous dresses, Tiana still stuck with us and ended up finding the PERFECT one! We had given up hope of finding something my especially particular daughter liked but Tiana didn't give up on us. :) We also had an appointment in alterations with Pavoua and she was amazing! Went over and above what was expected, helped my daughter into and out of her gown, was patient and kind. I can't say enough about her and what a relief it was to get her after we had already been in and met with the alterations manager with whom we had get difficulty understanding due to a language barrier. After having a local seamstress absolutely ruin my wedding dress I had to buy an emergency dress 1 1/2 weeks to my wedding! Every woman's fear! From the moment I called David's bridal in Maple grove the manager assured me through my tears they could get me in ASAP and that they would find me an amazing dress. I was so lucky to get Maddie as my consultant and after she hear my story and instantly became my cheerleader and within seconds started pulling dresses that were exactly my style! When I found my perfect dress they instantly grabbed the seamstress and got to work pinning it and guaranteed it would be done in a week! "I guess she must have gotten fat." My daughter needed a dress for her brother's formal military engagement and found a beautiful blue gown at David's Bridal and had it altered by them. Unfortunately when she got it back a little over a week later, it was four inches too small in the chest, which meant that she had no dress to attend the military ball. Upon attempting to return the dress, the response by David's Bridal was that perhaps my 16 year old athletic daughter had gotten fat in a few short days. I'm glad that my daughter wasn't present for that comment. Poor customer service, expensive and bad tailoring, and aggressive behavior by staff. read more

Me and my bridesmaid had a appt when we arrived we were greeted warmly, and introduced to Melissa F she went over some of the dresses on my wish list, asked my budget and then showed me the other dresses to look at in case I saw some more I would like to try one. IF I COULD PUT A ZERO STAR RATING I WOULD. I had the absolute worst experience at the Maple Grove David's Bridal. I went in on Feb 15th, 2022 with intentions on buying the dress that i love but wanting to wait until my bridal party was able to come with me to make the final decisions on my purchase. As the end of my appointment approached i was told that if i did not purchase my dress that day that i would not be able to get any sort of the diamond loyalty discounts on my dress and that i would be paying more for it in the long run. So i purchased my dress. Fast forward to the day i am supposed to go pick up my dress 03/05/2022. I go in and ask to try it on to make sure that i still love it as much as i did the first time. And when i put it on of course i still loved my purchase but there were some snags and major flaws in the dress that prevented me from taking it home that night. The manager Nicole (i believe is the manager that i was dealing with) decided that they would reorder my dress which i was grateful that they would do that. So here we are waiting until 3/21/2022 for my dress to arrive yet again. This time i drive back down there to pick it up and when i did a look over on my dress it had even more flaws wrong with it. More fraying, beads missing, snags in the skirt, and green threading in the skirt, and it was DIRTY. So Nicole took pictures of my dress and said she would find out what they could do about it and they would reorder it again for a 3rd time. Staying in constant contact with Nicole via text message which was great (trying to get through on the phone to that store is almost impossible) she assured me that my dress would be expedited and be available in a week. Nicole gave me the tracking number for my dress. It was delivered to the store on 04/4/2022. I waited until 4/7/2022 to reach out about an update on my dress at which the response i got was "I go in at 2pm and i will look it over as soon as i get there" i waited until 3:15pm to reach out to her again to see if she had a chance to look at my dress. She then stated to me that my dress is still messed up and she was talking to her corporate office to see what can be done. Then i responded with this is ridiculous and i should get some sort of compensation for all the struggles that i have gone through to purchase this dress and i would like to come down tonight to look at other dresses and see if i can find something else that i like and order that one. Her response was i am booked today and i can not make time for you. I asked for her managers contact information. At that point the response from the manager was "from here on out, i will no longer be responding to you via text, i have to be on the sales floor" With all that said and done i took it upon myself to try to find a solution and contacted the Oakdale location to see if they would be able to assist me in finding a dress that i am not going to have issues with. The manager over there was very kind and very understanding of my situation and i went down on 4/7/2022 and ended up ordering a new dress which is now set to arrive in May which my wedding is in August. All around though i live 1.5 hours away from these locations. I drove to the maple grove location 3 times and Oakdale once so far. When this is all said and done i will have driven to David's bridal 7 times for a total of 14 hours in the car for a wedding dress. Did Maple Grove do anything to make this right you may ask.... the answer is NO. I contacted Chad the regional manager and he has also been fairly rude with me. I scheduled an appointment expecting I will have someone taking care of me, Viki was the girl "helping me" apparently she was the only one at that time helping 4 more customers, she selected dresses for me that I didn't even like and were not my size because the ones I showed to her I was looking for were not available at the store or they just didn't have that style in stock, when I was trying in the first one she was so busy trying to handle 5 customers at the same time meanwhile I had to try the only three dresses she picked for me and non of them were my size or the style I liked. I went here looking for a wedding dress. I made an appointment for Sunday at 1:30. I got there early. The sales lady only asked about budget and style. Not when or where. She kept bringing dresses out of my budget. Several 2x my budget. She was also splitting her time between myself and other brides. I felt rushed. They had no three sides mirrors or platforms. She got upset that my daughter brought me dresses when she did not. She also got mad at me when I removed several extra dresses out of the fitting room that I did not want. I could barely move in the tiny room and 4 dresses in there. We were trying to hang them up. Left without a dress and very frustrated. Will never return. I'll just buy online. Zero star! my niece's wedding is happening in 13 days and received the worst service here. There is a reason why they have 2.5 stars.... if you don't want to go through the hassle and unprofessional service, do not go here. My niece cried because of the way she was treated here and had to end up getting a simple dress at Macy's and returned her wedding dress 13 days before her wedding!!! Unbelievable!!! I hope the store takes the negative comments seriously and make the necessary improvements because no customer especially a soon to be bride should be treated the way my niece was treated here. Detailed story: My Niece's dress was ordered well in advance. It ended up arriving just 13 days before her wedding! (store never called to let my niece know in advance, she only found out when she she called). At the time the dress was ordered, my niece was advised that alterations would be included but when she got to the store she was expected to pay if she wanted alterations and since her wedding was in 13 days, she would have had to to to pay the rush fee for alterations in order to get her dress back in time for wedding My niece voiced her concern about the alterations cost because of what she was told at the time dress was ordered as well the late arrival and the staff especially the alterations department raised their voice on her in a VERY unprofessional way! My niece had all the right to be mad, she paid $1.6k on her dress and her wedding was in 13 days. The staff here is not professional at all. Please do not go here unless they improve. read more

Highly reccommend making an appointment during the week. I was told that it can get a little hectic on the weekend, especially with each lady working there helping 2 parties at a time. I made an appointment online and the system sends you an e-mail asking to confirm - make sure you do this. I have a feeling some people might not catch that and I wonder then if you aren't put into the system? As soon as I got there I was informed that each lady working there is assigned to 2 groups at a time, which I was prepared for. It started off with the one lady bouncing between me and another bride and it was working out just fine. However, since our appointment was in the evening on a Wednesday and there was nobody else there, I was SO LUCKY to get the Sales Manager Anne to help me! The other girl was just fine but Anne is really charismatic and really good at what she does and made the process much better - especially since it was my first time and I was anxious. We didn't find THE dress that evening and that was OK! Anne doesn't do high pressure sales. She took notes of everything I liked and sent me on my way with a free bag of information and other fun things. I'll probably be scheduling another appointment to try on more dresses again soon. read more

I had such a great experience with David's Bridal! Everything from booking my appointment to purchasing my dress was so simple & efficient. I worked with Helena who was SO awesome. I wasn't really sure going on what type of dress I was looking for, but she asked great questions to narrow down the styles & features I liked, helped me pick out a variety of dresses to try on, and then was so helpful telling me what potential options I had to get things altered on them. We came to David's Bridal in search of my best friends wedding dress. We had a reservation and everything since this is a pretty big deal. The first person who greeted us was AMAZING. She showed us to the gown section and explained how everything would work. She tells us that our consultant will be right with us. So as we're waiting, we're looking around at the dresses. We pick a few we liked (as the first person told us to) and then the consultant arrives. She was quick and efficient when it came to getting the right sizes for the dress and showing us to her fitting room. Everything was going well - then the bride began trying on dresses. The consultant then began to be "quick" but extremely rude. I get that you're busy, but that's no reason to be rude. There was even a point where she yanked the brides arm to see how the dress was fitting - like YANKED. Not gently turning her, she yanked her. It definitely ruined the whole experience for the bride and her bridal party. After we were done, the consultant was finally nice and smiley - happy to see us go, obviously. I work in customer service and this was definitely the wrong way to treat customers - especially considering the occasion. read more

Oh, David's Bridal, how I have come to loathe and despise you. Seldom have I had such a craptastic shopping experience. I'm not one of those nasty customers who can never be satisfied, but my whole experience with DB was just awful and it made me feel pretty nasty! First of all, the selection of dresses, while massive, is still not very good. And forget about their $99 dress sales--those dresses look like you bought them off the clearance rack at the Goodwill. Absolutely everything else in the store is overpriced. My "consultant," with whom I was required to work (I wasn't allowed to walk in and browse/try on dresses on my own) kept disappearing, particularly while I was in the dressing room. Evidently they work on commissions, and it was busy so she had taken on at least two other women, though she apparently had pretty poor time management skills. Also, despite having been told my price range, she kept bringing me things much more expensive than I was able to afford. That really sucks when you're a bride--you want what you want, and you don't want to have to worry about the cost. It was a real buzz kill when she brought me a gorgeous veil that I immediately fell in love with, only to find out that it cost over $200. Ridiculous. Every other staff member I dealt with was equally vapid and rude. When I tried on the gown that I ultimately ended up purchasing, the saleswoman bustled it to show me how it would look with the train up. After I bought the dress? No bustle. They charged me an extra $35 (on top of the initial $50 to hem it) to have one put on...one that ended up falling apart less than halfway through my reception, so I was walking around carrying my train all night. Super fun. In spite of all of that awesomeness, my biggest complaint isn't about that specific DB, but about the chain as a whole. My wedding was here in MN, but I am originally from CA, where all of my bridesmaids still live. I took a trip to CA about three months before the wedding specifically to shop with them, thinking that since DB is a huge chain I wouldn't have any trouble shopping both there and here. Wrong. Are you ready for the stupidest thing EVER? None of the information you give at the store you are in is saved in any sort of computer system, so each DB is isolated from the rest. I went to the one in Maple Grove initially and had to spend ten minutes giving them the information about myself and my wedding. When I arrived at the one in California, they asked for my name and wedding date, and we were all very confused when they couldn't find my information...until I mentioned I hadn't been to that SPECIFIC store. This might not seem like a huge deal, but it turned out to be a huge pain when I was trying to deal with my bridesmaid's dress orders and accessories from home while they were trying to deal with it there--having all of this information separate was excruciatingly inconvenient and annoying. So basically I hated my experience with DB, I would never recommend this or any of their stores to anybody getting married, and I still kind of want to punch somebody in the face about it :) read more

(Technically, this DB is located in Maple Grove, not Osseo.) I went here with my friend, the bride, and the other bridesmaids to shop for dresses. The wedding dress had already been purchased, so I can't speak to that buying experience. However, as a bridesmaid, the buying experience for our dresses was torture. First, if you're okay with being a cruel bride and insist on DB, don't force a shopping trip on the weekend, at least not at this location. It's next door to a Chuck E. Cheese, and you can forget about parking within a reasonable distance. Trying to drive around and hunt down a space is easy if you don't have a problem plowing down toddlers and their slow-moving parents. Once you get inside the store, it's pretty much the same environment. The aisles are cramped and you have to get past the prom dress section to access the goods (Let's assume a very loose definition of 'goods'.) We had to wait 45 minutes for a dressing room. Our attendant took down our information once we were in and disappeared for a really long time. Standard bridesmaid dresses cost around $135-$155. My dress was priced at $155, but our party got a 20% discount, so it ended up at $135. I don't know if that's high or low, but in the days after visiting DB, I'd go to Marshall's, Macy's, etc. and find very similar dresses for $50-100 that could be worn again without the erstwhile bridesmaid looking insane. The accessories located in the very back of the store definitely seemed overpriced. I don't know if I've ever seen a tiara that's worth $50, but somebody at the big DB in the sky seems to think they're all worthy of that price tag. Seriously, if you want to go the Pretty Pretty Princess route, save yourself some money and head to Claire's for shiny white accessories. Our dresses haven't come in yet, and I hear that DB "gets" you on the alterations, so I'll update when that happens. read more

Both my sisters bought their dresses through David's Bridal and worked with Emmie. They had a wonderful experience. I came in that day thinking I would have the same. I had a bridal and bridesmaid appointment, I understand that it was a Saturday and that it can be busy but my stylist Izzy brought me three dresses and then said "that was all there was in my price range" I know full well I gave her a range higher then where DB starts and your 99 gown sale was going on-so DB had even better discounts. I also know that you have discount designer dresses in the back that you can't put on the floor (like Vera Wang). I mentioned that too Izzy, but I am positive she didn't try looking. She then said we could look on the floor if we wanted too-by that time she had checked out and I didn't see her again until a few dresses later. My family found many in my price range. They also had to get me a veil to try on and accessories as Izzy was not around. After finding my dress- I wasn't offered to schedule an alternations appointment and I wasn't ask for my bridesmaid names or numbers after finding their dresses. I had to call in the following Monday to enter in the information for my wedding party and for my alterations appointment. (The other bride next to me working with her left without a dress. I have a feeling she felt the same as I did. I wouldn't have been able to buy a dress, if my family had not gone out on to the floor and found more.) I have always had great experiences before (as a bridesmaid) with David's Bridal so I was very disappointed that my experience as a bride was less than stellar when it should have been the highlight. I wish my stylist had taken the time to get to know me and my style and worked with me to find the perfect dress. Corporate did follow up with me but it seems they don't have much pull with physical stores because they couldn't even get the maple grove store to reach out. They did offer me 10% off my bridesmaid dresses which was nice. But my view is tainted. They ruined my one dress shopping day. I will only worked through the Roseville store now so they can earn my commission. read more

The process was a nightmare! I made an appointment, when I got there they didn't have me down. The manager was very accommodating which is the only reason I give 2 stars. Throughout the process she was always helpful and reassuring. The appointment was for alterations however just ended up trying the dress that I had already choose. Due to the dress needing to be rushed I called daily to check the status. I was told each time that it would be in January 7th with the wedding date prior to that date. I was reassured that each time after asking for a manager it would be in prior and have time for alterations. Finally it came in, I went in was measured. I was told to come back in today to try it on, and the back sticks out 3 inches! I was told that they didn't alter the top which I showed my receipt showing they did. For 475.00. It was pretty much Oh well! I will be mortified on what is supposed to be a perfect day. They had 50% off veils so I bought one and a headpiece to try to cover the back, and the clerk refused to give me the advertised price! I would not recommend! read more

My daughter and I had the worst experience yesterday at David's Bridal in Maple Grove yesterday, with our helper, Victoria.   We were shopping for prom dresses. Thankfully, after providing very little help, even after asking, Victoria, went to lunch after first 20 minutes of our 30 minute appointment and Lindsay covered for her.  I had heard Lindsay and Victoria discussing that Victoria would get commission on anything that sold while she was on lunch.  Lindsay was great and brought lots of dresses back for my daughter to try on based on her feedback and never lead on that we needed to wrap it up or hurry to make a decision.  Then, Victoria came back from lunch and my daughter was standing in the first dress she really liked.  As she stood there, getting my feedback, Victoria came over and said "YOU ARE STILL HERE!?! You need to wrap it up, you were supposed to be out of here and hour ago and we need this room for other girls". However, there were 4 empty dressing rooms. and our appointment hadn't even started and hour prior. My daughter proceeded to hurry to get dressed. When we were leaving, Lindsay came up and asked if we had made a decision. I told her that Victoria, who had also now approached, had told us that we needed to wrap it up and get out of here. Lindsay looked horrified. We left, too upset to even talk to a manager, we will not return to David's Bridal. read more

Went wedding dress shopping for my friend and we had the worst service. No one helped us pull dresses or helped pin the dress. I was shocked with how small their selection of dresses was and how we were basically ignored during out appointment. I will not go back. read more

I went to this David's Bridal with my friends as well as a friend who was looking for her wedding dress. We had high hopes to find something when we walked in and saw the rows of dresses, but were disappointed by the poor customer service offered to us. My friend had made an appointment to search for her dress, but was neglected, even though she had scheduled beforehand. We all tried to help her find a dress, since the person who was assisting us was busy tending to other customers, probably due to understaffing. However, when she did come up to us, she was extremely rude and made offensive jokes that we did not know how to respond to. One example was that the bride to be needed clamps since a dress she was trying on was too big for her. My friend asked the assistant politely, but she responded, "Wow, so naggy." with a brash tone. We tried to shrug off remarks like this, but it was so uncomfortable to a point where we decided we would rather just leave. I'm disappointed and am never coming here ever again. Just because you're having a bad day doesn't mean you should be rude to your customers. read more
