My daughter wanted to be the third generation to wear the ivory satin wedding dress that her grandmother and mother said their "yes" in. So Evermore seemed the perfect choice because they specialized in vintage gowns, and I did not want it to be dry cleaned. The dress was in good condition but yellowed, (see before photos) and the store manager assured us that Evermore would be able to restore it to its original color. Sadly, Evermore was not able to do this and damaged the vintage fabric in the process. This was partly due to the work not being started in the timeframe promised (almost two weeks later than agreed upon) which resulted in rushed service and the gown being pressed while still wet with cleaning fluid. The once ivory dress now looked bleached white with ivory splotches and was dull instead of having a satin sheen. (See photo) The manager recommended the dress be processed a second time and then asked for another week after that. Without my permission, the dress was sent out and dry cleaned! The general manager said he thought the dress had grease stains and that he did not know the history of the dress. He could have known had he asked. The dress had been fully examined before any treatment, and there were no grease stains on the dress. The dress came back still splotchy and had been pressed on the right side of the fabric causing heat damage. (See photo) The store manager shook her head and said, "The best I can do is 50% off. I requested the full amount and was given that. Aside from not being able to restore the dress to its original color, the gown was irreparably damaged because of the way it was pressed. I expected that a company that specializes in vintage gowns would train their staff to not press a wet garment and press on the underside of the fabric. I know there are no guarantees in life and mistakes happen. What matters to me as a customer is the response when there is a mistake. I spoke with both the store manager and general manager, and neither would acknowledge that the gown was treated poorly. The general manager said, "What do you expect me to do? Clean the dress again? I have lost so much time and money already." I absolutely did not want the dress done as Evermore had not demonstrated its staff were capable of caring for an heirloom dress. I felt I was treated in a disrespectful way and was shown no empathy for such disappointing results. When I first brought in the dress, I was asked for its value. I said, "priceless." I was encouraged to write that on the form. Now the gown is no longer lovely or the heirloom we hoped to pass onto the next generation. We have less than three months to find a dress. What was supposed to be a joyful part of planning a wedding has been so heart breaking. read more

I was very impressed with how easy it was have a bridesmaids dress altered at Evermore! I called and made an appointment, and was able to fit easily within my schedule the next day. During the alteration fitting, the staff expertly pinned my dress and made sure I was happy with their plan. While alterations always seem to be on the more expensive side, Evermore was in line (if not a little less expensive) than other places I've visited to have bridesmaids dresses altered. I was impressed from start to finish with this business. I never worried for a moment that the dress was not safe and cared for while it was in their shop for a couple months. I was very impressed with the alternations to my wedding dress. My dress had very intricate lace and Evermore did such a great job altering and adjusting it. I had two fittings and booking the appointment was very simple. I was able to get the individual attention needed during each fitting as well. I went to Evermore after reading reviews and they did not disappoint. Nga, the one who did all the alterations, was amazing! She always asked me if I wanted to take any parts in more, or if any parts were too loose. Although, I had wished I had taken the hip in more, but that's my own fault! Since Nga had to take some of the bust in, she had used some of the jewels and placed them on the back of my dress to add more details. Nga knew that I needed to travel with my dresses (I had two) to my wedding out in Maryland and she was more than happy to assist with putting it in a carry on for me. The way she had packed the dress for me, it wasn't wrinkled in the slightest which was amazing!! They were able to get me in the day I called and got it done within a week! They also didn't push to have more done than what was necessary. Sooooo I spilled nacho cheese sauce down the front of my wedding dress. Yes, nacho cheese sauce...don't ask. Let's just say it was an after bar debacle involving left over sparklers and a GIANT mardi gras mask decoration. Right after "the incident" I thought if there was ever a chance for the most expensive dress I've ever bought to have a 2nd life, I was in need of some serious damage control. Well....cue almost 3 weeks later (after a fabulous honeymoon and hitting the ground running upon my return to work) I decided it was time to figure out who/where offers wedding dress cleaning. I knew Wedding Gown Care Specialists in New Hope was where I needed to go after coming across only positive reviews and reading a lot of horrible reviews from elsewhere. Embarrassingly I showed the owner of the shop by mess of a dress. Without batting an eyelash she said with a smile, "It looks like you had a good time." I wish I was witty enough to respond, "Cheesiness aside, it was the best day of my life." Instead I smiled back and took my receipt when I was told the dress would be ready in 4-6 weeks. 5 weeks later I picked up a stain free and crisp white dress. It was preserved in a box with a guarantee against yellowing of the lace, a lifetime of free presses, plenty acid-free tissue paper, and even a pair of gloves to handle the dress with. All in all, way above and beyond what I ever could have expected. Who knows...if a lace tea length dress becomes all the rage yet again many years down the road and we have a mini-me someday, perhaps she could wear it when my husband walks her down the aisle* *now THAT was super cheesy read more

Although you have to make an appointment for their wedding gown care services, they do a fantastic job in taking care of one your biggest keepsakes...your wedding dress. My wedding dress wasn't totally trashed from the wedding day, but when I got it back, it was like-new conditions. I even tore a thread on there accidentally when I tried to shimmy the dress down on the wedding day, and she re-attached it for me. I was kind of surprised that she found the torn thread. They pay attention to the details and they take very good care of the dress for you. It took about 2-3 weeks before I got it back. I only dry cleaned it because I had to wear it again. So the price for just the dry clean was 125.00, which was not bad at all. I expected to fork over a lot more than that, but the only other step to preserve it would be another $50-75 or so, which didn't sound too bad. I'm pretty sure I'll be going back to get it cleaned once again and preserved. They do great work and your dress will be in perfect condition! read more

I purchased my wedding gown at L'atelier Couture in downtown Minneapolis and received a coupon to a cleaning place in NYC. I refused to believe only a place in NYC could handle cleaning my dress just because it's designer. After seeing the other good reviews, I brought my dress here and was very pleased. Even the hem looked like new at probably half the cost of the shop in NYC. And the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. I'll be recommending this place to all the future brides I know. I just wish I had gotten my alterations done there as well- probably would have been much cheaper! read more

I went in for an initial consultation and fitting on Saturday, May 4 for my July 2019 wedding. I was late to my appointment and they were extraordinarily accommodating. I believe they only book one appointment at a time so that morning I had the exclusive attention of the experts in the salon. After putting on the dress and discussing the wedding, the tailor, Pa, let me know that in her opinion, the dress already fit correctly and that she did not think that I needed any alterations at all, although she said that if I felt there were any I needed she would be happy to make them. So many other salons would have made unneeded alterations so they could make money, but Pa was incredibly honest and made me feel great about my dress and my day! I didn't have any wedding services of my own done here, but when I agreed to be a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding I needed some alterations done to my bridesmaid dress and Wedding Gown Care Specialists were the closest to my home. So, without reading any reviews or anything I just went out on a limb and made an appointment with them. I'm glad I did. They are very professional and kind, affordable, and quick with their alterations. Overall they did a fantastic job. I am only deducting a star because when I went to go pick up my dress after the alterations were complete I needed to try it on before leaving to ensure it was a good fit. There was a bride using their one dressing room to try her dress on so my options were: 1. Leave without trying the dress on and risk the alterations not being enough 2. Try my dress on in a small back room with no door where the staff does their sewing, etc. I opted for number 2, but I can't say it was very comfortable. I'm glad I had my husband with me to stand "guard" at the doorway since there was no door to keep people out while I was dressing/undressing. read more

Pa and Serena were lovely to work with. I came in with a gown I purchased second-hand (had never been worn or altered) and they made it look absolutely stunning! The price for the work they did felt high, but the work was also of very high quality. Overall, I spent about $600 to add a belt, hem, bustle, and bring in the bodice of my gown. I was completely thrilled with the results! The experience was comfortable, and my gown was perfect. I will absolutely be bringing my gown to them for cleaning before reselling it. read more

I had just moved to Minnesota right before I was supposed to start alterations so I only had reviews to go off of which was, of course, extremely nerve-racking. When I went in for my first fitting Pa gave me her list of things she thought we should do and then actually asked me what I thought, which I thought was great. At some point during that first appointment we were talking about how much my waist needed to be let out and she said it looked like about 1 ¾ inches and at the end when I was getting out of the dress she measured it and it was exactly 1 ¾ inches!! That made me feel so much better because obviously she knows what she's talking about if she can eyeball a measurement like that and I was so right! I had my fourth and final fitting today (I bought it off the rack so there was lots to do) and throughout the whole process she walked me through everything that needed to be done, how she was going to do it, and what would look best. She was patient with me FaceTiming my mom in Florida, showing her the dress, and talking her through things too. The ladies at the front desk were amazing also!! Sirena and Annika made me feel so comfortable in a stressful situation, answering any questions, ensuring me that what I was feeling was completely normal, they were so professional, kind, and knowledgeable. Pa made my off-the-rack dress fit me absolutely perfectly!! It is like a totally different dress, even though of course I adored my dress at the beginning, she made it feel like it was made for me to wear down the aisle to marry my best friend. After going through reviews of many places that clean wedding gowns and do preservation (and also reading reviews that made me cringe at leaving my dress with them) I found Wedding Gown Care Specialists. I'm very relieved to have found this shop and it was so great to be able to drop my dress off before my honeymoon and not have to worry at all about them taking care of it. Sarah (the manager) is wonderful, very friendly, and really ensured me that I didnt have to worry about a thing leaving it there 4-6 weeks. When I picked it up, it was beautifully preserved in a nice box with white gloves to handle it and my veil inside. Its a little spendy but at the same time I wouldn't have gone anywhere else and had this kind of service and preservation. Many places I called said they give you a sealed box, which in my opinion is a red flag since you want to make sure it was cleaned properly and not just taking someone's word for it, and to fluff the dress etc. I'm happy I chose this shop and would recommend it to other brides. read more

I had my dress cleaned and preserved there a couple of weeks ago. I really didn't know what to do with my dress after my wedding, and couldn't bear to just donate it or sell it. I saw other great reviews for Wedding Gown Care Specialist, and thought I might as well spend the couple hundred bucks to have it cleaned and preserved. Who knows-maybe my future kids might want it or something...? Anyway, they did a great job and I was very happy. My dress is currently in a HUGE box that they put together for you (the size of the dress was shocking at first - WHERE would you like me to store this?) and I was given clean instructions to store in INSIDE and not in the garage or basement. I'm still trying to find a place - maybe under the bed if it will fit. I was very happy with the product, the level of customer service, the speed (about 3 weeks), and the price. They even have a coupon on their website for 10% off! My dress was about $205 for cleaning and preservation. read more

I had my dress cleaned and boxed after my dress hung in the spare bedroom for 4 years! I had white wine stains all over the front and dirt stains on the hem, she was able to get all of it out! I love the box too! You are able to open it and see tour dress when ever and she gives you a pair of cotton glove to use if you touch it. Would recommend anyone there. I sent my Vera Wang Farrah to be cleaned and preserved at the Wedding Gown Care Specialists in Minneapolis. My dress suffered significant damage, and they said the damage was because of the way the dress is manufactured. All of the edges have significant fraying on them. They suggested I take the dress back to Vera Wang and complain. Their excuses were appalling because brides everywhere have been wearing and getting Farrah cleaned without this error. It was an extremely heart breaking experience because I loved my dress very much. read more

I brought my wedding dress for sleeve adjustments and hemming. Everyone I interacted with was professional and friendly. The work was done with skill and care, including packing my dress for air travel. I really wished that I was informed that my dress would settle at a longer length than I saw in the shop during the fitting. On my wedding day my bridal assistant had to do an extra bustle on my dress so that I could walk down the aisle and do my first dance; if she hadn't been able to do this, it would have had a serious negative impact on my day. read more

I wore my mother's dress from the 50s in the 80s. The dress was boxed properly, but then stored in a damp attic where it turned brown and was stained by water. I washed the dress in soap and water just so my daughter could try it on. The dress still looked very brown with blotches. If you have a couture wedding gown DO NOT USE THEM. I was devastated when I picked my dress up - over 3 months after I dropped it off. I had to call several times on it even which I understood why when I picked it up. I had a Justina Mcaffrey dress that was dutchess satin/silk and they ruined it. It looked like they let it set in a solution of some sort too long because it was pilled and scratched up on the entire bodice. The bodice should have been spot treated but it looked as if the entire thing has been "cleaned". Same problem with the train and skirt. It looked nothing like the dress I dropped off and I would have rather kept the dress dirty then the clean mess I picked up. I unfortunately assumed they would have more experience with high end dresses but clearly do not. Saddest day to pick up my gorgeous gown to find the fabric completely ruined. read more

Evermore was UNREAL. Both a friend and my day of coordinator suggested Evermore and I am SO glad they did. Nga was unbelievable - my dress was way too big for me and she had me come in multiple times over a two-month time span to get it just right. It was a strapless dress (something I had always vowed that I wouldn't get) and she altered it SO well - she took it in perfectly at the ribs so it stayed up the entire day without me thinking about it, but it wasn't too tight. And she was personable too! I was trying to figure out what to do with my hair/ headpiece and she was the one who was like eh forego the veil - which I did and I'm so glad I did given how my dress was. I have told so many people about wonderful Evermore in New Hope and how amazing Nga was. Thank you so much, Evermore and especially Nga! And I took my dress in after the wedding and got it preserved - they were great. I had used them to press, dry clean and preserve my wedding dress, which I was very pleased with. However, I was very disappointed in their alteration services. I had a bridesmaid dress that they altered too small. The dress was a size 2 and needed to be taken in and taken up. It came back a size -0... (my bra and shape wear can no longer be worn with the dress because it is even more impossible to fit into) I had to eat salad all week just to be able to barely breathe in it. Very Unhappy and to top things off these two minor alterations and pressing cost me $100 which is outrageous. I will not use them again and am sad that this bad experience will stop me from recommending them to others. read more

After speaking with them on the phone about my timeline and dress, I made an appointment. I went in for the fitting where everything went well. The next day I received a call that they would need to do a very expensive alteration ($125) only to shorten the length. I spoke with two other bridesmaids who recently had the same dress shortened. They both had the dress simply hemmed for $40. I spoke with the seamstress once again to request a more simple hem. They called me back and said now they don't have the time to alter my dress at all! Not only did they waste my time and leave me in a bind, having to go back to pick-up the dress and take it somewhere else, but it sounds like bad business to quote someone a very expensive alteration and then refuse to fulfill the order when a more simple alteration is needed. How did you have the time to completely re-work the dress, but now there is no time to do a hem? They have lost a customer. read more
