I am extremely disappointed with how David's Bridal Long Beach has handled my wedding dress, especially because my wedding is October 11 and I am now losing valuable time for alterations. I purchased my wedding dress at this location on August 21 and worked with my stylist, Hannah. During my appointment, Hannah determined that I needed to go up in size and told me that the correct dress needed to be ordered for me. I was told I would be notified when my dress arrived. I did not leave the store with my wedding dress. I never received an arrival notification, but because I had already scheduled my alterations appointment based on when the dress was expected, I called the store beforehand to confirm that it was there. After sitting on hold for approximately 30 minutes, I was shocked when I was told their system showed that I had taken the dress home on the same day I purchased it. I absolutely did not. The manager actually asked me, "Did you not leave with the dress?" No. I did not. I told her they are welcome to check their security cameras because I did not walk out of that store carrying my wedding dress. At this point, the store appears to have no idea where my dress is or what happened with the order that was supposed to be placed for me. What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of follow-through. The manager told me she would investigate and call me back by the end of the day yesterday. She never called. It is now 3:38 PM the following day, and I still have not received an update. This isn't a casual purchase. This is my wedding dress. My wedding is October 11, and I should already be moving forward with alterations. Instead, I'm having to chase down David's Bridal just to determine whether my dress was ever properly ordered and where it is. I understand that mistakes happen. What I don't understand is the lack of urgency after discovering a discrepancy this serious. If your records incorrectly show that a bride took home a wedding gown she never received, that should warrant immediate investigation and communication, not leaving her waiting for a promised phone call that never comes. I have my original receipt and documentation of my purchase. I need David's Bridal to take responsibility for this situation, determine exactly what happened to my dress, and provide an immediate solution that guarantees I receive the correct gown with enough time to have it professionally altered before October 11. This has nothing to do with the people that work inside the store. They are fine. However, this could not be more frustrating as a Groomsmen in an upcoming wedding that's using the tuxedo rental company that David Bridal partners with, Generation Tux. They have two mannequins set up with random combinations that I don't think anybody would ever pick. They've got a 2" x 2" square fabric. Nothing for you to take with you. You have to order everything online. For the Groomsmen , there's no fit in. It only get sent two weeks prior. We're having a destination wedding. I'm gonna be gone. It won't work and I have no way of knowing if this is actually gonna fit. With the online trials, they want you to put your measurements in David's bridal who is their partner has no way to help measure you. They sent me away to get measurements. Unbelievably frustrating. The cost to use tuxedo/suit rentals is gonna be more than to purchase a brand new suit. read more

I had my appointment on August 16th and ended up picking my dress. The only issue I had during my appointment was the fact every stylist working was rushing me to get started when I had arrived half an hour early just to look around. We were waiting for two more people who were set to arrive at our appointment time but they forced me to try on my dress before it was 4:30. I don't live in the area, so we opted to have it shipped from the store to my parents' house. We were assured multiple times by our stylist that the dress would come with the alterations made that we requested. The dress arrived on September 1st with not a single alteration made to the dress. I called the store and was told they would get back to me the next day about what to do. It has now been over a week and I have not received a call about my dress. I've never left a Yelp review before, but after my experience here, I feel like I have to--especially to warn other brides. My experience was extremely mixed, and honestly very frustrating. If you do decide to shop here, my advice is: 1. Make sure the correct dress is actually ordered 2. Keep every single receipt 3. Confirm that everything is properly documented in your profile This was the first bridal shop I visited. I was excited but nervous, not knowing what to expect. I was helped by a stylist named Stacy, who was very friendly and ultimately helped me find a dress I loved. I hadn't even planned to buy that day, but she told me the dress was on sale and gave me a great price, so I said yes. I was told it would arrive in about a month. A month later, I picked up my dress. I asked about alterations and was quoted starting around $300, which felt high but I decided to wait until I tried the dress on at home. When I finally tried it on, I immediately realized--it was NOT my dress. Completely different style and even the wrong color (ivory instead of white). Thankfully, I had pictures from my appointment to prove it. I went back to the store, and the manager quickly confirmed I was given the wrong dress. They even found my actual dress on the floor. But here's where things got worse: I was told that if I wanted the correct dress, I would have to pay an additional $1,100 because the wrong dress had been ordered and priced. Let that sink in--their stylist made a mistake, ordered the wrong dress, gave me the wrong price, and I was expected to pay the difference. The manager offered a small discount, but I would still have to pay hundreds more. I refused and asked for a refund. She then told me I needed my receipt, so I came back the next day with it. While processing the refund, she said it was a "courtesy" since the dress was apparently final sale from clearance--something that was never explained to me. She also implied there were no notes in the system and that she "wasn't there," which seemed to be the ongoing excuse for everything. On top of that, I discovered I had been charged for TWO garment bags--one for $7 and another for $12--but only received one. Again, no explanation, no notes, just confusion. Overall, this experience felt extremely disorganized and unprofessional. Employees don't seem to communicate with each other, and their system for keeping records is clearly not being used properly. Luckily, I still have time to find another dress. I can't imagine how stressful this would've been if it happened closer to my wedding. I'm not trying to be difficult, but this situation was handled poorly from start to finish. If I had been given the correct dress at the correct price from the beginning, my experience would have been completely different. Brides, just be careful. read more

Our first visit to David's Bridal was fantastic Bethany was very helpful and patient. I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for, so I tried on a few different styles and felt really comfortable with her guidance. Where things fell short was with alterations. At my first appointment, I was quoted around $260. When I came back for my alteration appointment, the staff was nice, but the pricing was almost double my hem, added bra cups, and adjusted straps that also gets charged for labor came out to about $500. For that price, you'd think steam and press would be included, but it's actually an extra charge. Honestly, you're better off getting alterations elsewhere. What was most disappointing is that the bra cups weren't even sewn in properly it looks like a single string is holding them in place. At that point, you're better off just buying a strapless bra. read more

But the associates were so kind, uplifting, and helpful. We did get taken in a bit past our scheduled time but it was clear there was not enough consultants, so we didn't mind. My consultant made me feel comfortable and was flexible with how much help I wanted to receive and gave me options as to weather I would like her to fully help me into dresses or just to help me zip. I recently came here for a bridesmaid dress fitting for one of my closest friends. I will say the selection was quite slim and the salesperson helping us didn't seem like she really cared to show us other dresses to try on. She also kept pushing to order dresses now and that it'll take a long time to come in. I ordered my dress online (and on sale by the way), and it arrived in less than two weeks. Bridesmaid dresses run from $80-$200 from what I saw. David's Bridal is a good place for brides that have specific wants and want to gather their bridal party to where a specific dress, but it's not as stylish as others that I've seen. read more

Upon entering, we were greeted and assisted promptly. We had a group of 8, and the entire time, the staff was very helpful, patient, and friendly. This location had a good variety of priced dresses for all types of budgets, including a clearance section with a current additional 40%off. The Worst Experience - Completely Disappointed I had an appointment on Sunday, 6/22 at 1:30 PM. I arrived about 10 minutes early, checked in, and was told to browse around while someone would find me to assist with pulling dresses. About 10-15 minutes into my scheduled time, someone finally approached me. She asked if I'd found anything and mentioned that all clearance items are sold "as is," including any stains or damage--okay, good to know, I guess. She never took my measurements, just guessed my size--which she got wrong--and never once asked about my budget. Around 30 minutes into my appointment, she brought me a few dresses and led me to a fitting room. From there, she completely disappeared. She didn't help me into any of the dresses; my friend who came with me ended up helping me in and out of them. Eventually, my friend also started pulling dresses for me because my consultant (not sure what they're officially called) was missing in action for most of the appointment. When she did reappear, she casually mentioned that she was overbooked. That was when I knew this was not the place I wanted to spend my money. By 2:45 PM, I was completely done and just wanted to leave. As we were walking out, she actually suggested that Ross or Kohl's might be more in line with what I was looking for--an incredibly unprofessional and insulting comment. Went to this location, everyone was so nice! I made an appointment for myself and brought 7 women in my family and they were very accommodating. Jennifer was our stylist, she helped me find what I had in mind for my dress. I tried on several different styles and she was so knowledgeable on what I could change about each dress, how I could style it, and always made sure it was in my size. She was very patient as I went through picking dresses, ultimately I couldn't decide so I asked her if I could come back the next day to let her know my final decision. Jennifer assured me that I was welcomed back so the next day, I came back and chose something completely different. She was so flexible in my decisions since I had changed to another dress, but in the end she was so happy with what I picked. All the dresses that I tried in were very high quality and the verity was endless. I also spoke to one of there seamstresses, Heather. Had to drive a bit because all the stores near me closed. Went looking for a birthday dress, which I know is not a bridal appt but I think some sort of customer service is expected when shopping. You get charged if you order online and ship it. Styles - They don't feel like they've changed much over the years. Good variety of colors, styles, and materials. If you need a range of sizes, this will work for you. Service - When I called to make an appointment (for bridesmaid dress), the employee was not very friendly. I'm not very happy about the fact that I paid $250 for this...the dress itself cost the same...they had my dress since October 3 and I picked it up on November 6. They had it for a whole month, I would have expected the cut to be cleaner. Take your dress somewhere else to get altered. Edit: I found a split seam... I'm really disappointed about this alteration.
