The owner is seriously the sweetest! She was so kind, helpful and funny. Literally such a typical Khmer auntie. You can tell she really loves what she does! She does custom Khmer traditional clothes for women, men & children... traditional dresses, skirts, men's av pak, chang kben and more. Perfect if you need something for a wedding or special occasion. She also has a pretty fast turnaround..but if you want something custom I'd definitely give her a few months so she has more time for all the little details. The shop is small so just keep that in mind. We went in for a last minute event so we didn't have time to do anything custom....but she had some really cute stuff for children. We ended up getting an av pak for my husband and a top & kben for my child. Overall price was really reasonable! Lower than other places we've visited. Really happy we stopped in and would definitely come back! read more

Bong Kim (do not call her Ming ) is so kind and talented. She picked out a set for me that I didn't even think I'd like but I ended up loving it! She eyeballed my measurements and altered the outfit perfectly. I was shook. I'm gonna feel so confident at my cousin's Khmer wedding LOL. Also, it ended up taking me a month to get back down to Long Beach to pick up the outfit, but she was very patient and communicative with me over text. Thanks Bong! read more

Bong Kim is seriously the best ! She's so easy going. She has so many options for Khmer clothes and I love how she was flexible with a lot of my decisions . If there was anything that I wanted to change last minute, she wouldn't hesitate, she would tell me how much time I have left. She is SO nice and funny. I love that she loves what she does. So professional and she keeps it real. My SIL went to her for her wedding and now I got her for my wedding. No regrets at all. Everybody and myself loved all the clothes and options she has. Highly recommend going to her ! read more

I'm so glad we booked our Cambodian bridal with Kim. I had 5 outfits and 5 hairdos, groom had 5 looks as well. My bridesmaids and groomsmen had 3 outfits, Jr bms had 2 outfits and flower girls had 1 all day. So many beautiful options, I had to get dragged out. Haha. She's personable, funny and pays great attention to making me and my girl gang gorgeous. I love how she explained and showed me the difference in a beautiful dresser vs a sloppy job- Everything from the Bridal look to the jewelries and hairstyles. Including my bridesmaids and jr bridesmaids. My groom and his guys looked good too. Plus, she speaks English! My Khmer is ok so I def appreciate her ability to also speak English. read more

My sons had International Fair day at their school and it as an opportunity to represent and showcase the Khmer culture in our area, as there maybe less than a handful of us. It was an amazing turnout, over 500+ students/parents visited the booth! This puts 500+more folks to recognize and bring to light the beauty of Cambodia. It was a proud and monumental moment! Kim made this all possible! She was able to squeeze me in last minute and did it with commitment and attention to detail. Kim, thank you for what you did for me , and what you continue to do everyday, to keep our culture alive! Khmer wedding outfits!! I wanted to wear the traditional Khmer clothing for my husband on our wedding day since I am marrying a Cambodian, I want to honor his traditions. We finally found a store that was open on our off days. I called Vannary Bridal to ask if they are available and they are and told us to come by at 3:30pm - 4:00pm. This store is location across from a supermarket. We got lucky and park in front of the store. We get to look around and see what we like. At first I wanted all gold but bong Kim the owner said to check out her instagram page, which I did and decided to change the outfit to a lighter top set. We did have bong Kim come to our wedding venue to help dress us because I wouldn't know how to pin everything down to make us look good on our wedding day. Bong Kim was very friendly and nice. Bong Kim is very experience in doing the Khmer clothing. Bong took about 20-30 minutes in dressing me at my wedding. My husband and I got many many compliments of how good we looked. We both felt like King and Queen on our special day. Especially my husband he said I looked really good in Khmer clothes ;). Well spent on the Khmer clothes and got the praise and compliments I wanted. Thank you, Bong Kim! Definitely would rent some more clothes to attend weddings! read more

This is a rewrite of previous review. Kim was not a very honest person to begin with. Behind my back she messaged my husband making up several Things like I was cussing at her and saying almonds of crazy things. I asked for a refund for the dress. I was given a refund but this woman caused a lot Of problems. Measurements were wrong, cutting and sewing of dress were not professionally made. Zipper tags were left on it with bar code. We were insulted and instigated and led along for months. I don't recommend you choose this lady for business. Aggressive and lying and instigating. read more

Our wedding was in March 2024. We dod two two-day wedding ceremony and reception. Kim was with us through it all. I am a Filipina who married a Cambodian and I am lucky enough to have Kim guide me in all aspects of our Cambodian wedding. Her price package is the best we have found and she was really accommodating. I have all the outfit changes needed for each separate ceremony of our wedding including honoring our parents and two outfits for my reception. All accessories needed and all the ceremonial pieces were included. She did my makeup and my mom's for the two days of our ceremony and the reception. I never looked and felt so beautiful and it was my special day. Everything we had in our ceremony was from Kim's team/recommendation including the photographer, Acha, and the musicians, she took out all the stress from preparing for this marvelous event and let me, my family, and my husband truly enjoy our wedding day and reception. Kim was wonderful! I have thin hair and her and her team of ladies gave me so much volume, that I did not end up needing any hair extensions! Her clothes were beautiful and I had so many wonderful compliments about the Cambodian dresses and my hair/makeup. Whatever style hair/makeup you want, her team will make it happen for you. My wedding party and the groom's clothes all looked modern, beautiful and stylish. It helps that they understand our Khmer skin tone as they knew which colors looked better on me. They worked quickly and was very pleasant the whole time. Kim took one look at my face and knew what the best hair style would work best for me. I had chosen a top and she recommended something else which turned out much better than I expected. These ladies know their stuff. Kim and her team showed up on time, was professional, didn't make any critical mean comments as sometimes Khmer folks do lol. They were efficient and got all that we needed done. I was hesitant to write a negative review on a small business, but I hope others don't get the same experience as me. Kim's dresses were beautiful, but she was unprofessional. She was nice when we first met but after we made the deposit, things changed. It was difficult trying to get a hold of her. I started feeling nervous about booking Kim since another reviewer said she arrived late. I also booked her to dress me at the venue, which was about an hour away from her shop. When me and one of my bridesmaids went back to try on more dresses, she was so lazy and seemed irritated to even let us try on anything in the shop. She would put the dresses on over our clothes! How were we supposed to know how the whole outfit would come together on the day of the wedding. Mind you, we live 1 1/2 hours away. She said she didn't like for the bridesmaid to try on the dresses. She would pick them out herself. She never asked for my bridesmaids measurements as if everyone was the same size but, I gave her the measurements anyway. On the day of my wedding, my bridesmaid called her to make sure she would show up on time. When she picked up the phone, she sounded like she just woke up from a nap. When Kim arrived, SHE DID NOT BRING THE EXACT BRIDESMAIDS TOPS AND DRESSES THAT I PICKED OUT! They were in the same color scheme, but not the ones that I chose! My bridesmaids had to squeeze into the dresses because she didn't use the measurements I provided. She probably just grabbed the dresses off the shelf on the day of. Luckily my bridesmaids were slim enough to pull it off. She didn't even bring enough jewelry for my 4 bridesmaids. She just brought whatever she wanted. After the wedding, she called numerous times to remind us to return the dresses. She was hard to get a hold of before and now she was calling? I guess if you want to save money go to her...if you want to save the headaches...go somewhere else. read more

The service was nothing but BS. Kim states she is quality and she hand makes the stuff she demands payment day of measurement but uses venmo to her personal account. SHe never delivered a dress and it wasnt on time. I wouldn't've do business with this person at all she is full of lies and deceit doesnt provide a tracking number, doesnt communicate or speak English fluently. Argues with the customer and scams out of everything she can for cheap materials and cheap items. You can get your stuff online through more trustworthy people for a lot less who don't over sell their cheap attitudes and cheap materials. You get nothing from this lady. First of all, I had a destination wedding so of course I did not expect Kim to be there to help us into the dresses. I believe she did take advantage of the fact that we were out of town. Kim, she's nice but she's very unprofessional. My first meeting with her, she was 15 minutes late. The second meeting with her she was late again. My dress we were able to pick out the fabric I wanted and she delivered. I did gain weight and she was able to adjust it. (She asked me to lose weight and had doubt that I would a week before my wedding) She also gave me the option to try another dress because it would look better with my top. I couldn't decide so she let me take both. My bridesmaids, the top was white which was fine that's what we wanted. But the skirt was a weird shade of pink/orange when I wanted a light pink. One of my bridesmaid became pregnant and she was able to adjust it. Which was great. Another one became pregnant and was not able to attend anymore so I had to ask her not to charge me for that when she wanted to. A few days before the wedding I asked her to send me a video of how to put on the dresses just in case. No reply. Day of the wedding. It took us over an hour to figure out how to put on the dresses. We missed a great portion of the ceremony because of this. The bridesmaids dresses were either to tight or to big. Kim provided us with safety pins to adjust the dresses but they weren't enough. They looked ugly with the pins and they were uncomfortable for my girls so they didn't get to wear it and I didn't get to do my wedding ceremony like I wanted. When I complained to Kim, she blamed us for not knowing how to put on the dresses and that she wasn't there to help us. How is she supposed to help us when we're out of town? The measurements were the same as the regular bridesmaid dresses so the dresses should have been fine. She said the safety pins should helped but they did not. She didn't want to give me any compensation for my loss and tried to make me feel guilty because of the changes I made to my pregnant dresses and the fact that she gave me two dresses when I didn't want them. It also took me a whole month to return the dresses to her because she kept cancelling on me. She's never available late and I have to work. Something would always come up and it was really frustrating because I needed my deposit back. I was warned by my coworker to not come here because they got her dresses wrong TWICE. I wanted to trust Kim and because she was not as expensive. I totally regret it. If you want cheap dresses sure go here, but you might not get what you ask for. I suggest paying a little extra and going to another location where they will do it they way you want it. read more

"Let me know what else I can do for you!" This is the phrase Kim would pleasantly iterate throughout our wedding planning. Overall we had a positive experience with Kim and Vannary Bridal: Products - hair, make-up, traditional/formal wear, flowers, decorations Personality - understanding, flexible, culturally modern Price - Fair, transparent Other attributes: bilingual (English/Khmer), values feedback, speaks quickly My family has had a couple weddings already and unlike the other artists, Kim didn't limit our preferences to traditional views; she was very flexible and tried her best to understand our taste. She has a modern perspective for decorations and make-up which showed right away during the make-up trial. She made us feel comfortable enough to tell her what we liked and didn't like, and that willingness to accept feedback made it easy for us to work with her. Kim also shared with us her sources at LA Fashion District and fought for us in the negotiations. When we were looking at table covers at one of the fabric stores, the shopkeeper was being inconsistent with his cost per unit for the same type of fabric. One piece was $12, but when we asked about a similar one, he called for $13. Kim blatantly called him out on it and pushed back against the shopkeeper's haggling. At the end of it, the shopkeeper exasperatedly gave in to an even lower price. After that instant, my wife and I agreed that "We should have her on our side for every negotiation!" From then it was clear to us that Kim is willing to stand up for her customers. Kim went above and beyond to fulfill our vision, going as far as driving 230 miles 4 months in advance to check out our venue at no charge. She was on time during the wedding day as well, arriving 30mins ahead of schedule to prep for logistics. Plus they were properly masked and respected our priority for health. After all of it was said and done, my wife felt amazing with her look and we receive much praise for our ceremony décor. We will definitely come back to Kim for our post-pandemic reception! read more

Do not do business with this unprofessional person!!! She was all talk and will feed you with the bullshit, "I give quality service"! Bullshit!!! I was pissed with her crappy service!! She was not on time, overcharged, and incompetent!! This lady did not have clear communication with any thing. I wanted to fire her & the assistant on the day of my wedding... yes!!! That's how bad she was!! The assistant was lazy and wanted to charge for every little shit, even a damn hair clip($1 at the 99 cents store). It should already been included in the damn expensive "package"!! I picked 5 outfits but only wore 3!!! She didn't even compensate for it either!!! The whole service was just awful. None of my bridal party or guests like her bitchy attitude & rest bitching face either!! She came in with her pj, come on lady, appearance is important especially when you're "working" at an event that is a wedding...get-it-together! The worst mistake I made was hired this lady. Please future brides Do Not make the same mistake as I did!! It's your special day and you deserve to have the utmost experience & memories. There are others Cambodian wedding planners, go book with them. Comment on 4/28/21: My wedding was prior to the pandemic. What is there to talk about? After the wedding you didn't care to ask and follow up if I was happy with the result or anything. Unfortunately, I paid you and the wedding is over. You ruin my special day and there's nothing you can do to undo it! Just own up to your wrongdoings and do better next time or better yet, get out of the business bc you're not made for it! I'm done with my response, pls don't private message me again! read more

A week before my wedding, I decided to incorporate a bit of Khmer culture into the wedding. My white dress was ordered a year in advance but I was happy that Vannary Bridal was available to accommodate my needs. My cousin and I went to see her around 5pm and she was getting ready to close the shop. Instead of being upset, she was happy to measure me and look for the style and color I wanted. My fiancé is 6'1 and normally dresses in XL so Kim (the owner) gave us two of the men's traditional outfits to take. On the day of the day of the wedding (which took place on Corona; I live in LB), my fiancé outfits did not fit him. He's Hispanics XL. We called Kim and she said to come over. My sister went to the shop to pick it up and everything worked out. She was very easy and open to work with. I highly recommend her shop for any brides that are looking for Khmer outfits. Her pricing was reasonable and I was so happy that we found her. read more

I rented a Khmer dress from Vannary Bridal for my wedding in September 2015. After visiting every single rental shop in Long Beach, I'd have to say that Kim offered the friendliest and most flexible service. Her selection is beautiful and modern. Since I wasn't having the full traditional Khmer wedding festivities, I wanted to make sure I found something reflective of my culture (while staying true to my personal style) and was so happy to have found plenty of options to mix and match the exact look I desired for my father/daughter dance. Her jewelry is also very pretty and complemented the outfit perfectly. My only note is that we did receive the outfit without adequate cleaning and pressing. I had my bridesmaids iron the skirt the night before the wedding which was a bit disappointing. Thankfully, no one noticed and I received tons of compliments. I wish I could've worn the outfit for much longer than just the one dance!! read more

I decided to take a groomless bride/runaway groom photoshoot out of the blue and went with the blue and silver outfit among 3 other attires. I remember seeing my sister wore the same color traditional khmer wedding attire back when she got married in 1995 and I said to myself that ONE DAY, I will wear the same color bridal attire. I went down to SoCal a few days after I hit up Kim from Yelp. Kim and her glam team made it happen. I did a 2.5 hour photoshoot at the beach. Many of my family and friends go to Kim for their weddings. My suggestion is you find pictures of what you like and show them to Kim and let her take it from there. Trying on Traditional bridal clothing is different from American, there are layers and lots of time folding and many beautiful pieces that are layered on you (day of wedding) The reason I say this is because when you go into her shop she has so many selections to chose from and everything is so beautiful you want to wear everything! And it can be extremely stressful because you keep changing your mind. So bring Kim a photo of what you like and she will put everything together. Trust her process! She knows what she's doing and will make you the most beautiful bride! She is absolutely amazing and sooo sweet and patient! Kim also dressed my mom (multiple changes) my bridal party, groom men, my kids, aunts and cousins...Only her! I'm not going to say how many people (lol) but Kim made my special day amazing!!!! We have had nothing the best experience with Kim at Vanary Bridal. I'm Vietnamese but learned about Kim through being a bridesmaid for a friend's Cambodian wedding 8-9 years ago. So when we got married, we decided to ask Kim to help with ours as well 8 years ago. I love how she and and her team arrives to the house to help us get our hair/makeup done which saved a lot of time. They were punctual and very courteous. Their prices are reasonable for their professional skills. My mother, aunts and siblings liked their work a lot too. Hence, we have been booking them for most of our family's Engagement and Wedding ceremonies for hair and makeup. We couldn't be happier. Yesterday, my friend and I had Kim and Sarah do our hair/makeup again as we were bridesmaids. We were very satisfied with their services. Thank you ladies for getting us dolled up. read more

All my family member went through Vannary Bridal (previous owner). When it was my turn to be married I went to the same bridal place not knowing this was a new owner. All of the outfits was very beautiful. My wife and mother loved it. On the other hand the service was very unprofessional. It felt like this was their first time doing this. My wife did not get to wear the outfit that she picked out. We were told the day before our wedding day that my wife was too small so different outfit was picked for her. I asked her why weren't we told this earlier since we did the measurements over two week ago. No answer from Kim. They didn't have all the jewelry prep for us. Her assistant have to picked them out from their box. We ended up showing up late for our reception. We arrive after our guesses. The Vannary Bridal Team did hair and makeup for my wedding this past January 2017. They arrived at the house on time 5:30am right on the dot. Within about 2-3 hours, the team of two makeup artists and two hair stylists efficiently did hair and makeup for myself, 4 bridesmaids, and my mom. We felt amazing! Her makeup artists do very good, natural-looking makeup. My makeup did not look cakey the entire day. Another important thing to note is that, while the team showed up to work at 5:30 in the morning, they did not leave for home until almost 10pm towards the end of our reception. Although we met up with the team intermittently throughout the day, the length of time and effort they dedicated to our wedding is such a bang for the buck. It just shows how hardworking they are. Weeks before the wedding, we brought to her attention our concerns with our bridal party fitting into the Khmer outfits because some are really tall. Kim assured us she would alter the outfits to fit and she did. She sews and alters the outfits to fit us perfectly. I also rented a Khmer outfit from her in June of 2016, which was beautiful and modern. The only thing that was unfortunate was that for the reason that the makeup artist might not have used primer, one of my bridesmaids suffered from dry skin, probably a reaction to the makeup. Kim updates her closet regularly by bringing in new styles and fashions from Cambodia. Kim and her team are friendly and down-to-earth. She really listens to what you want and tries to bring your vision to life. Her prices are reasonable ladies! I would definitely recommend Kim and her team. read more
