I had 2 lymph sparing liposuctions performed by Dr. Amron in 2015 and 2016. Having Lipedema from a young age, my puberty was filled with constant pain in my legs, shame of looking different and being made fun of. Finally I got diagnosed with Lipedema at age 22. Throughout the years I did everything to "cure"myself; I restricted myself, ate healthier, workout out harder, wore compression stockings every single day ( since 13 years so far...) and still was in constant pain. I couldn't stand or sit for long and developed varicose veins. When I first met Dr. Amron I was thrilled that there was someone that specializes in Lipedema. He explained the process and what to excpect. I was impressed with his knowledge and felt very comfortable and in good hands. I was so ready to get rid of that stubborn fat, and especially the pain! After the first operation in 2015 (circumferential ), I saw a significant reduction in size in my upper legs, the pain completely disappeared in the operated area and the shape of my legs looked just beautiful. For the first time in years I felt that I can really love my legs and it was actually fun to look in the mirror! :) My second operation was in December 2016. I got my lower legs and my arms done. My honest review of liposuction with doctor David Amron: Consultation: Everything went perfect. The girl at the reception was very sweet. I didn't wait long to see doctor David Amron, and he took the time to talk to me ( about 45 min) and answer all of my questions and concerns. The Liposuction: The nurses were great and took a good care of me. The lipo is done under only local anesthesia, and I am not kidding you, it hurt as hell!!! Dr. Amron is amazing! I had two lipedema surgeries with him in December 2017 and January 2018. I'm still recovering, but can already see and feel such an improvement. I went in yesterday to get a facial at the Roxbury and it was SUCH a pleasant experience! The place is absolutely beautiful and relaxed! Jennifer who was in charge of my facial is such a sweetheart and she's so informative! Walking me through each step of my hydra-facial and making sure I had the best care! I feel that five stars is not enough to give Dr. Amron at the Roxbury Institute. From start to finish I felt that he completely focused on me and my health concerns. He took his time and answered all of my questions and did not brush off any of my concerns or personal speculations. The procedure that Dr. Amron performed for me was WAL assisted tumescent liposuction for my lipoedema, I felt that I was in the care of a consummate professional who is very compassionate. There was no wasted time during the procedure, whenever I felt pain I was given another dose of medication. He even played music that I enjoyed and knew well enough to sing along to! As for the staff that works with him, they are top-notch! So very friendly and kind. I feel very comfortable going into the office, every time I've called the office the person on the other end of the line has been polite and easy going. I've been going to Dr David Amron for 12 years! He is hands down the best doctor for filler. Especially lips. He listens to what you want and always starts by looking at your face and give suggestions. Dr Amron is absolutely 5 stars. When you are doing anything to your face you need to trust who you are working with. Because he is a surgeon he has amazing hands which is why his filler is so amazing. Beverly Hills is full of doctors, however I am always so happy with his work. His front desk staff are very friendly and can help you with other options and prices for any other procedures you may like. He does not push anything on you, only a gentle suggestion. I sadly also had a really bad lip experience with Dr. Amron. He talked himself up so much in my pre-surgery consults as the best lipo in Beverly Hills, and his method of using only local anesthesia as superior. It was crazy painful, I was crying and freezing and wet on the table, really horrible. It's true that the oozing the day of is bad, but day after it's gone. I didn't bruise at first and was impressed and then 5 days later, horrible bruising that lasted awhile. The absolute worst part? Horrible results. It didn't look as if I had lipo at all. My inner thighs and back did not look better. $7500 down the drain. Go elsewhere if you are considering lipo. Plus no one in his office ever inquires about you after recovery and he never schedules you back in the office months later to evaluate the results....I wonder why? read more

Just awful service. I was warned against going here so I guess it's on me, but I was recommended by someone who goes to this office. I don't know if it's the doctors or the people who work there but they are terrible. Dr amron wrote me an RX for a basic medication taken daily- that could easily have refills on it. Instead every single month I and my pharmacy have to call it in- this wouldn't be a problem is the office actually refilled the RX. FOUR times now they just fucking don't. No interest. I call. My pharmacy calls. They fax. And four times the office just does nothing. So I am left unable to take my medication. I even try to plan ahead every month KNOWING they will F this up. But it still doesn't help. They seem to be useless. I shouldn't have to go through this ridiculous process all the time just to get a prescription. Careless assholes really. Will be seeing a new dermatologist. UPDATE another full business day has gone by. I have called twice and my pharmacy AGAIN faxed for my RX. The arrogant office staff said they receive too many faxes to keep up. It is now end of business day- and I STILL can not get my prescription filled. read more

I had the same exact type of experience as Lola S. After paying over $5,000.00 to do lipo on only the lower half of my body, I was very disappointed. It really does hurt as he slides the metal suction tube under your skin, even with the local anesthetic, and Dr. Amron seemed annoyed at me for saying it hurt. And then afterwards, I saw the collection jar and there was not even that much fat in it! I asked him, "how much can be taken out at one time" and he told me the amount, and I remember that my level of fat taken out was very small in relation to the number he said. I didn't notice that much of a change in my body either, so I felt that the money I paid was wasted. I would have been better off hiring a personal trainer to work my extra few pounds off and probably look way better than going through all that. read more

The worst! Had lipo nearly 4 years ago. Aside from the results being nonexistent, the surgery was the worst pain I have ever experienced. It was a blood bath and I was freezing cold. The swelling and bruising was intense. The worst part -- to this day my incision sites continue to ooze and get infected. I addressed this with Dr. Amron for the first year and was brushed off with antibiotics and topicals. After seeing a "true surgeon" this week, I am being sent to a infectious disease specialist. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Lipedema in June 2014. In the treatment plan Tumescent Liposuction was listed as the 'cure'. After interviewing over 10 plastic surgeons not one was familiar with Lipedema, and one even recommended a thigh lift--a major surgery that could damage my already failing lymphatic system. Dr. David Amron was knowledgeable about Lipedema, and very sensitive to my embarrassment over my out of proportion legs that have been 1 to 2 pants sizes larger than my shirts ever since puberty. He even recognized that my arms were affected and the other surgeons didn't even bother to look at my arms. I am now 4 weeks post-op and the results have been life changing! i can walk without getting shin splints--my gait is completely changed now that I don't have to 'walk around my thighs.' A few years ago, I was referred to Doctor A by someone I trust very much. I found him to be a highly experienced and talented doctor whose skill was worth every penny. One thing that may bother some, but I found extremely ethical, is he will not always tell you what you want to hear. For instance, even if someone was wealthy beyond imagination, and they wanted their lips supersized, he's not going to just agree with them, take their money, and make them look ridiculous. Two months ago an oculoplastic surgeon performed ptosis repair, and upper and lower eyelid lifts for me. After the surgery I still had some tiny bumps and wrinkles around my eyes. I was told to go to Dr. Amron's office in Beverly Hills for laser resurfacing. His medical group is well known and they are often on TV shows showing before and after patients and patient makeovers (I never saw the TV shows). On my own I consulted with a couple other doctors who do laser but felt Dr. Amron was more knowledgeable, experienced and his price was more affordable than others doing the same procedure. Other doctors doing this same procedure require patients to be put under by an anesthesiologist in an operating room, which shoots the price up to be nearly double. Dr. Amron explained to me before the surgery that the CO2 laser reconstructing is a serious procedure and wanted to make sure I understood the 7-10 day recovery period and what the laser would initially do to my face. He told me for 17 years he did this procedure in an operating room with an anesthesiologist but for the last 2 years with this CO2 machine they are able to do the procedure in his office. Sometimes patients are given Demerol but I had nobody to drive me home so I took no painkillers.The beauty of the CO2 machine is that only one treatment is necessary but the recovery time is 7-10 days. Other lasers require 3-4 treatments but the down time after each treatment is much less at 3-4 days. I felt I wanted the best and most thorough available so I opted for the one treatment CO2 machine. I had absolutely no preparation prior to the surgery. A very friendly assistant applied numbing cream all over my face and I had to wait an hour.to numb my face. I would be lying if I didn't say the procedure definitely is painful and I can understand why some people with a low tolerance for pain should be under a general anesthetic or at least take a pain killer like Demerol or Vicodin. The good news is Dr. Amron is an expert and performed with procedure thoroughly and completely and was extrememly reassuring to me throughout the one hour it took to laser my entire face. The laser is like a needle with heat and Dr. Amron makes a pattern and dots the entire face with the laser, making sure to blend by the neck and ears so there is no line when all heals. I truly felt I was in competent hands throughout the resurfacing. Immediately Dr. Amron finished, my face just looked red and felt dry. Ice cold towels were put on my face for approximately an hour to help with the heat feeling in my face. No pain at all after this procedure but definitely feels like a very bad sunburn. I woke up the morning after the laser with a very puffy face and my eyes can barely open because they are swollen. I specifically had asked Dr. Amron to focus on my eyes since that was my initial reason for the laser restructuring. Three months ago I was referred to Dr. Amron by a friend who was a former patient of his. I decided to see Dr. Amron because I had lost 40lbs through nutrition and exercise but there was still this thickness that wouldn't go away. Having been a person who worked out his whole life, I was frustrated that certain areas would not go away. After my consultation with Dr. Amron, I completely felt secure in his hands, he took his time, explained everything, my options, what he thought he could do for me. I immediately booked my surgery. I watched the Home & Family show one morning and was surprised to see a plastic surgeon talk about some people being WRONGLY diagnosed with Lymph Edema. My mother suffers from this disorder and is now barely walking because her legs are getting so heavy. Dr. Amron was the guest of the morning and was well versed about this diagnosis and the fact that in most cases, it is actually misdiagnosed and is actually Lipo-edema instead of lymph-edema. He went on to explain how liposuction helps this condition and brings much needed relief to the patients who receive this type of treatment. He further explained that this procedure is conducted in house and only takes a couple of hours. Most patients do very well after the procedure and are able to get back to their normal activities is a day or so depending on individual healing time. His guest was a woman who was affected by it and was diagnosed with lymph edema and told they was NOTHING she can do about it but continue with the treatment she was given. She went to see Dr. Amron and he diagnosed her NOT with Lymphedema but LipoEdema instead. He gave her HOPE. It was because of her story, and his immense knowledge about this condition that I made the appointment for my mother. Before Dr. Amron, my mother had NO hope of a normal life again. He was SO GENTAL and patient with us and our million questions. He made my mother feel comfortable and understood. He validated her feelings and gave her his honest medical opinion which elated her. She had tears in her eyes that she may have another chance to be able to WALK without the heaviness of her legs. Dr. Amron is the most professional, gentle, knowledgeable plastic surgeon I have met, and I have worked around doctors for over 20 as a nurse. He explains, in detail the procedures, what to expect and how you may feel. Pain levels differ from person to person as everyone has a different pain tolerance. My mother expressed she has low to NO pain tolerance and Dr. Amron immediately explained that he will have an anesthesiologist in the O.R. and she will not feel any pain during the procedure. He and his staff are polite, professional and go out of their way to help you in any way they can. My mother is scheduled for surgery in a couple of weeks and I have not seen her happy in years. I had Liposuction surgery for Lipedema in October 2015, with Dr. Amron. I did, what I thought, was my due dilligence in selecting a surgeon. Dr. Amron came very highly recommended. I started with having to send in multiple pictures and wait for a call for confirmation that he believed he could help me. We set up a phone consultation, that was completely missed by his office the first time. They stated I wasn't even on the schedule. I set up a second call and that one went off on time and with Dr. Amron stating he believed he would be able to help me. Before the surgery communications with his office were quite easy and after a few hiccups I sent in my monies and got on the schedule for surgery. I flew into LA from MI, and the night before surgery I got a frantic text from the Patient Coordinator that the surgery center did not have my labs and they would not allow my surgery until they received them. Due to time difference, of course, my doctor's office in MI was closed. Luckily I have access to my lab records via a patient portal so we were on for the following morning. I arrived at the surgery center and it was a whirlwind getting pictures taken and prepared, not only by Dr. Amron but also by the nursing staff. I was given one valium pill under my tongue and off we went to the OR. Dr. Amron does not like his patients to be sedated so I was awake. It was the worst pain I have ever felt!! No pain meds were offered, even though I made it quite clear I was in excruciating pain. When it came time to do my arms I was told to place my arm in a certain position but was unable to do it to Dr. Amron's satisfaction, so he had one nurse pull on my hand with my arm across my body and another nurse lay on my shoulder. I ended up in Physical Therapy for a frozen shoulder due to injuries sustained. When I saw Dr. Amron for my post op he assured me I was going to have "amazing" results. Nothing could be further from the truth. My legs have barely changed and are now more painful than before surgery. My arms, along with the shoulder injury, now have large painful nodules on the inside of my elbows. When I questioned the nodules when they first appeared approximately 3 months after surgery, I was pretty much dismissed saying that it was just healing. Next came time to attempt reimbursement through my insurance. Dr. Amron's office told me that they did not participate in any insurance. Well it seems they lied again. After filing an insurance claim I was told that it would have to go through Dr. Amron's office as he was a participant with BCBS at the time of my surgery. This has caused multiple delays in my insurance claim as now BCBS is saying it is a duplicate claim. If you want to save yourself a lot of money and aggravation stay away from this office and Dr. This is the first review I have ever written, but after spending $23,000 and all expenses incurred for travel to have this surgery I am hoping if I can save just one more person from this nightmare it will be worth it. read more
