First off let me say this review is long overdue. Dr. Bakshandeh is so amazing and such a sweet & personable lady! I came to her office last year because I was burned yet again by another bad chemical peel (I didn't leave a bad review because I actually knew the owner & she was my friend however her esthetician left burn marks all over my skin) Anyhow Showed up at the front Desk crying like a crazy person the girls were really patient with gathering all my information they needed & made me feel very welcoming despite the purple burn marks and tears The Dr. Takes one look at me and say oh don't worry I've seen worse this will go away I just need to prescribe you some things. Everything she offered I bought & my skin looks better than before! She even noticed a hyperpigmentation mark and said we will get rid of that too! ‍ So 6 or 7 months later I come back for some light acne treatment and decided to try fillers & I am so happy I went to visit her office today! The girls at the front desk has always treated me kind & super professional especially Jackie she's always super helpful with anything information I need. Oh and Dr. B's medical assistant is always so nice and gives the best customer service. I love how the staff is not like snobby or rude especially being in Beverly Hills I am pretty sure they have some high end clientele & really busy but they still are friendly. I originally went here based on excellent reviews and I hope I can save even one person from going through what I went through. Short version- I was told the procedure I elected would not cause scarring I'm left with a giant scar, larger than the original mole. Full story: I had concerns about my skin and decided to have a skin tag on my eye and mole removed. The skin tag on my eye came off without incident but the mole on leg is another issue. I emailed the office with an image of the mole. ( Below) just over a month after the first nitrogen removal. I was scheduled for an appointment a few days later. The doctor confirmed the result was unsatisfactory and gave me the option of another pass of nitrogen or cutting for removal. She told me cutting would leave a scar and nitrogen would not. I chose the scar free option. Since the time before I only had darkening of the mole and then skin peeling I was freaked out when a few days later I had a giant blister. I had been given no after care instructions but it didn't look good so I reached out to see if I should be concerned. I was out of state due to a death in the family but I did receive a call from the doctor after she saw that over a month later it was not healed. I was told to use Aquafor and bandage after shower. After over a week from the call and the wound still unhealed I followed up via email the and attached an image of where I was in the healing process I was so scared that I'd be scarred. The next day - they returned my email " Are you still out of state? If not then the doctor would like to see you in person. Please let us know. " - I immediately followed up to let them know I was still away with family and when I would return. NO RESPONSE. I sent two additional emails. They have yet to schedule me for an appointment . Beyond having a horrible scar that is larger than the original mole, I didn't find anyone to be particularly friendly inside this office aside from the doctor and even though she was pleasant she was always in a rush ( even though there has never been a full waiting room). My insurance covers $650 per visit ( $1300 for two) I also paid out of pocket to have the mole removed and I'm left with a cicatrix . The only other thing I can warn you about is a cream that she sales for over $125 ( it's also pictured) It's supposed to get rid of dark spots. I've been using for over 5 months and there is no change. I'm looking for a new dermatologist and I highly suggest you do to. read more

Very rude front desk She emailed me and told me they don't accept insurance But once I got there she said they want my insurance card, for billing the blood work! I said I appreciate if you mentioned it in your email. She just thru the paper on the counter and asked me fill it out. Not the best person to represent your office Dr. Haleh. Dr B was great with my acne. I would always refer clients to her but then she suggested I have a small freckle scraped as it wasn't looking normal and everything changed. It was tiny might I add. I have had a number of scrapes with GP's in my life and never had an issue. After she scraped it a keloid scar formed much bigger than the original dirt sized freckle. It's clearly visible and raised on my back when I wear sleeveless clothes. When I emailed and called her looking for some help, she showed no empathy and wanted me to pay her for injections to bring down the size / itching and said it's just happens some times for people. So that's it? Im just left to deal with this and have to fund ongoing injections for life ? 3+ years later I'm still here with a visible keloid lumped scar paying for steroid injections in another city that only help with the itching/size for 3 months till it all returns. Another dermatologist said they think Dr Bakshandeh caused the keloid not scraping it correctly. Super disappointing :( read more

Came to this office after reading such great reviews. I called ahead to make sure that they took my insurance. When I arrived for the day of my visit I was shocked to have over $250. The front desk reassured me that they would submit the claim to my insurance company. A few weeks later I called back to remind them to submit it but never sent it. Then when I went to see the doctor I felt like they were just trying to push expensive products on me (cleansers and sun screen). The sunscreen I bought did not blend into my skin and made it look grey. You are supposed to have your blood monitored when starting the medication she prescribed me. This didn't happen...just felt $300 poorer when I left. read more

I was referred to Dr. B through a friend of a friend who told me that he loves Dr. B so much that he travels to Dr. B from out of state whenever he has dermatology needs. After working with Dr. B for several months, I can say for certain that I would travel back to her from out of state if I ever moved away. Dr. B takes a creative yet practical approach to acne treatment. I initially visited her because I had a sudden acne breakout at age 32. During my adult life I certainly have been prone to breakouts, but nothing like I experienced in April 2018. My first session with Dr. B made me realize that she was the dermatologist for me. First, she was incredibly sweet and understanding about the mental aspects of dealing with acne. Her entire staff is friendly too. In fact, being in that office reminds me of a family atmosphere. I love visiting the office! As for treatment, she initially recommended an oral and topical treatment which greatly reduced my flair up. After 6 weeks, my face looked so much better, but not perfect. I spoke with Dr. B about the frustration of still getting pimples at age 32. At that point she suggested Accutane. While I was not the typical Accutane patient (i.e., not a teenager or young adult), she thought I was a perfect candidate for the medication. She also thought this was the best course of action to get rid of my adult acne. Accutane can be intimidating, but not with Dr. B. Her creative and practical approach allowed me to ease into the Accutane treatment until I was eventually taking the full intended dosage each day. Her approach also allowed me to ease off the medication rather than stopping it cold turkey. I firmly believe this approach is the reason my experience on Accutane was flawless - I had no side effects outside of the ordinary dryness. 6 months later, I am acne free. Wow. I'm so impressed. I went in today for some Botox. I've never had Botox with a derm, so I assumed it was all done the same way in terms of pricing. I told Dr B where I usually get Botox and it was the best(least painful) injection I've ever had. I'm a wimp. She has a lovely disposition and injected so easily. I went to the front desk to pay and was shocked to find out the pricing, which is not done by units, but by area. I've never heard of that, so I was really upset about the bill and it didn't seem like the front desk was willing to talk about the price so I left in a huff. I got a call from Dr B herself. She apologized for not going over the way it's priced and said she didn't want me to be upset. Dr. Bakshandeh has been a lifesaver!!!! I've always struggled with mild acne since I was 17 years old. I was on accutane with a different provider but they took forever to put me on the medication. I've tried all types of creams, I know insurance companies want you to be on topicals before starting the medication. When I started the medication I was younger at the time, on a low dose for 5 months. I still broke out after the first round of accutane. When the corona pandemic started in 2020, I broke out in really bad acne. This was probably due to no birth control, eating bad, smoking, stress and not exercising. When I called Dr. bakshandeh, I was unsure if she could help me at the time. She put me on round 2 accutane without any hassle. I gave her my records from the previous doctor, and she helped me clear my skin. I went on 40mg accutane twice a day for 6 months. I also ended up moving to another state halfway through my treatment. But she was still willing to be my doctor. I didnt have to transfer to another doctor to finish my medication. I traveled and moved around so much this year. MY SKIN HAS NEVER BEEN SO CLEAR! I am also back to eating right, exercising, not smoking. It's been 3 months and my skin is still clear. I have only been going to this dermatologist for about six weeks but already I can notice and feel the difference in my skin. My six week check up is in a few days, so I will wait until then to update. For now, though, I am so grateful to Dr. Bakshandeh for improving my skin! I never really had acne in high school but upon arriving to college I broke out uncontrollably on my forehead and chin. I didn't know what caused it, and I didn't want to go on birth control from the get-go. Dr. Bakshandeh introduced some topical treatments and recommended facials (I have gotten extractions and a chemical peel). At first I was skeptical because in the first two weeks the improvement was minimal. But now, my skin has cleared up considerably and the texture is much much smoother. When I finally saw Dr. Bakshandeh I thought I'd have to live with this on my face forever. After visiting three other doctors and not finding an answer to a persistent skin problem I was having, I finally found Dr. Bakshandeh through a referral. Not only was she able to diagnose my skin problem (minor eczema), she was incredibly knowledgable, professional, approachable and willing to answer questions. It seems silly to say the latter compliment, but I had been to so many doctors who seemed unwilling to answer honest questions... or maybe they just couldn't. Oddly enough, finding a dermatologist in LA was a bit harder than it should have been. For some reason, a lot of doctors only take in clients through referral or if they had been prior clients. Seems silly, and I had actually told her about this. She said that was odd, and that I should have been able to schedule an appointment with someone without so much trouble. Maybe it's because of my health insurance. Anyways, thankfully I was able to schedule an appointment with her. Anyways, in sum, Dr. Bakshandeh is an outstanding dermatologist who I fully recommend for anyone with skin issues. Like most of you reading this, I had heard for years how "intense" and "miserable" Accutane was, but by the time I hit my early 30s with the same oily, only-moderately-cystic-but-everpresent acne I'd had for two decades, I hit my limit. I'd tried Aczone, Tazorac, diet changes, Proactiv, birth control, Skin Laundry laser facials, and every OTC treatment on the market, and while I was able to fake clear skin with makeup fairly convincingly, no one ever saw me with a bare face under any circumstances. I finally realized that if I didn't find a way to fix my skin, I might actually die alone before it cleared. I'd been told for years at the start of every new treatment that 'if this doesn't work, we'll look at Accutane next as a last resort,' so I started researching dermatologists who specialized in the treatment. After reading the dozens of reviews below saying that Dr. B was basically a magician, I booked an appointment and started my five months at the beginning of April. I was beyond nervous based on all the horror stories I'd read online, but I can honestly say I would have stayed on Accutane for the rest of my life if I'd had to--it transformed my skin that thoroughly and, thanks to Dr. B's staggered approach, the side effects were really that minor. Within two months, my skin was so flawless that I was regularly not wearing any makeup and getting constant compliments on what incredible skin I had--and it's stayed that way! With liberal lip balm application, the chapped lips (my one side effect) were totally manageable and a more-than-preferable tradeoff. But the real cherry on top? The entire office experience represents the best I've ever had: scheduling, insurance, coordination with iPledge, ability to actually reach a human being when you call the front desk--flawless. Everyone who works there is super-warm and friendly, and then there's Dr. B herself, who is singularly the best doctor I've seen in my life. She is 100% present the entire time, so warm, and recommends great, effective products without overselling or pushing. When I say that she singlehandedly has changed my life, it is not an exaggeration. And her price for my visit was half what the other Dr was charging. Then I had some sunspots and vessels on my face. Another Dr told me I had to do laser and it was thousands of dollars. The day has come. I finally finished my treatment for acne. I've had acne for a few years & tried different things , nothing worked. I finally decided to go to dermatologist. Searched around & found Dr.B. She had me on a few different things before trying Accutane. When none of the other stuff helped me as much as I needed it to, we finally did Accutane. I love how she explained everything to me, from side effects to the whole process, being on it, what to expect, blood work & so on. It feels good to know what you're going to get yourself into before you start it & have a final say. Everyone in the office is really nice & friendly. You are suggested products than can help you but aren't pushed to purchase them & if they don't work out for you, you can talk to her about it & return it. I loved that , because sometimes things work for you & sometimes they don't & you don't feel like you're stuck with a product that didn't work out for you. But everything I was recommended did help me & worked for me. I felt very comfortable with Dr.B, I always got my questions answered and/or any concerns. I'm so glad I went to her. Months later, I no longer have acne thanks to her & everything we did to clear up my skin. I feel so good & love my face! I rarely write Yelp reviews, however, Dr. B's incredible doctoring and her accommodating staff make a yelp review completely worth it. Dr. B helped sort out some pre-wedding acne I was having and she completely cleared my skin in a span of 2-3 months. She also has been helping me deal with a skin allergy I'm having. She is genuine, kind, and takes patient bed side manner to a new level. Case in point: the allergy issue i've been having isn't totally resolved. This has resulted in numerous office visits, including impromptu drop ins. Dr B took the time to speak with me EVERY TIME and made sure I felt heard. I can honestly say, no other Dr I've ever had has been this kind. I could not recommend Dr. B enough. Also, a bonus: her staff is AMAZING!! Dr. Bakshandeh is amazing and so nice. I like her staff too so I'm not sure where the low reviews come from... I've had 3 different dermatologists who have always told me my problem "isn't that bad" and try this and try that. This doctor gets it, and she listens to you. She explains the pros and cons of each treatment and is totally open to what route you personally want to take. Out of 3 dermatologists -- she is the first one to take what I think is the route I should have taken 5 years ago. She is very helpful and eager and I couldn't have asked for a better first visit. The waiting room time along with the time waiting for the doctor was no more than 5 minutes. I am so excited to see my skin transform and get better. Where has she been the last 5 years of my life?! I highly recommend Dr. Bakshandeh as she is an extraordinary dermatologist!! To begin, she is very gentle when doing cosmetic treatments which in turn leaves you with AMAZING results. She has done Microneedling on me as well as countless other chemical peels and procedures (both medical and cosmetic) and the pain is always minimal if not completely absent. And my skin is always being complimented, thanks to her! She takes her time and is a perfectionist- especially with cosmetic treatments. She is extremely fair and if you need to communicate with her she will literally take the time out of her day to give you a call and speak directly to you, which I've found to be pretty rare. As far as medical concerns, Dr. B makes you feel comfortable in an environment that can be extremely nerve wracking. Appointments are not rushed, and she never leaves the room without all of your questions being answered. Not to mention, she uses some of that time to get to know you personally as well.
