First the the office - waiting area is beautifully and elegantly appealing and very clean and organized . Hardly any wait involved as the staff is very attentive and aware of the appointments . Very impressive ! I had a pinky finger neuroma benign cyst removed two weeks ago by Dr. Gaby. She was gentle and also makes a patient feel comfortable. Natalie assisted , very nice too . The procedure was not painful due to Dr. Gaby's super knowledge and medical skill in eliminating this cyst . They are first rate top class experts -super gentle dermatology office and the doctors again are the very best ! Dr. Newman noticed my legs were swollen and I had been to numerous doctors about this and he recognized and diagnosed my swelling called lymphadema . I'm going back to get some relief for this ! Anyone who needs a skin check you must go to see Dr. Newman - at Newman Dermatology- and make sure you check your skin as even the tiniest little wart, skin tags moles , cysts can be detrimental if unchecked . If you are looking for serious dermatologist please don't go!!! I chose this place based on the reviews, but my experience was more in line with the 1-star ratings. When I arrived at the clinic, I waited for a bit before being called in. I explained that I was there to address an acne issue and even brought some test results to assist in the consultation. However, the doctor barely looked at my skin for more than three seconds and seemed more interested in knowing my budget than in providing a proper dermatological treatment. I was expecting a skincare routine recommendation to help with my skin concerns, but the doctor kept pushing aesthetic procedures instead. She refused to suggest any products, insisting that a $450 laser treatment--requiring multiple sessions--was the best option. I made it clear that I was looking for dermatological solutions, not aesthetic procedures, but my concerns were completely dismissed. Additionally, I mentioned my hair loss and low iron levels, only to receive a sarcastic remark about a $900-per-session treatment. In the end, I was prescribed three in-house brand products, which cost me $250, and I honestly don't believe they will solve my problem. I left the consultation feeling frustrated, like I had wasted my money on an unprofessional appointment. This review is NOT about the doctors. This is about the "new" receptionist Ariana. I'd always scheduled my appointments thru Susannah. She was super professional and helpful. When I called last week and got Ariana, I was left on hold for 5 minutes. So, I hung up. I, too have a business to run. She never bothered to call back. Then I called Monday and she was totally oblivious to my first call. Actually indifferent is the better description. A receptionist should always be welcoming. That's not what I got!!! read more

Unfortunately, extremely disappointing experience. Returning to the office after 6 months of treatment: I waited an hour and a half to see the doctor, and our conversation lasted barely 2 minutes. The doctor failed to clarify my situation, outline a clear treatment plan, or discuss the prognosis of my problem. When I asked about the prognosis, he looked at me puzzled for several second, didn't answer, and headed to the exit to announce the visit was over. I have been coming to Newman Dermatology for the last 5 years for acne treatments and I couldn't recommend them more - specifically nurse Danielle! They are so kind and helpful here, it's the best environment I've had at any dermatology office. I live pretty far away in Redondo Beach, but it's always been worth the drive every couple weeks. The past 5 years has been a journey to find the right treatment for me but not once have they given up. They have also helped immensely with diagnosing and treating some issues I had with my nails, which I had visited 3 other derms before them who told me there was nothing they could do. I don't understand why people are posting bad reviews about Dr.Newman Doctor has been around for years and he's good at what he does. I use to be a patient at his location on Olympic Blvd and I had bad acne and moles. Dr Newman is a miracle doctor because to this day I have not broken out with a signal acne. I still refer lots of patients to him because he is such a caring doctor and he knows how to treat patients. I sent my nurse Cassandra and her co workers and they were very satisfied. My friend Pauline is satisfied, Dennis .N. Is very happy because he had big moles removed and now he takes his daughter there, my Neice been going there for years and when I hear people complaining about their problems I tell them "go see Dr Newman". Only thing that cost is his cream but I can tell you it works. That cream for dark spots, just avoid the sun or buy some of the sunscreen or use the spot cream at night. If he is taking too long with a patient needs, you should respect that because you would want the same for you because if he's in surgery I hope you don't expect him to stop in the middle of the surgery because you arrived at your appointment If you can't afford his products you differently don't care about your looks. Nothing is handed for free. Stop being so vindictive. read more

came here because it was listed as a high rated same day dermatologist, and i am having an extreme outbreak of eyelid dermatitis and needed to get relief same day. My appointment was at 2:15 and I was seen quite a while later. Was very surprised that I was not meeting with Dr. Newman himself. The doctor that looked at me quite literally did not look at me. she did not have me remove my glasses (which even the nurse had me do previously. the nurse who is not pictured in any of these yelp photos is incredibly nice and had a great attitude. my issue was with the doctor). there is no way to see my eye eczema behind glasses you have to look up close at everything. after not looking, she prescribed me with a steroid cream. i sat dumbfounded just looking at her, because the last time i had an outbreak this bad I was sent home with 4 different medications. She said no no this cream is all you need and swore my eyes are not that bad (I came in because my eyes are so swollen that 2 of my clients noticed and asked if I am okay. i tried to treat this on my own but needed intervention after i realized it was affecting my work life). Then, she tried to get me to buy the cream there for $75. when i told her that i'd like to have it sent to the pharmacy so that I can use my insurance (already paid 125 out of pocket to them for the visit), she said "you could. but you can also just get it here to avoid that hassle". I gave them the information to my pharmacy and headed there to pick up the prescription. I was never even handed a discharge paper stating the medicine they prescribed me or what was done that day. Basically, there is little evidence aside from a virtual receipt that I ever even visited their office. Flash forward, it's been a whole day and a half and I am still chasing this office down to send in my prescription to the pharmacy. apparently they are very busy and can't send it in.... i have never in my life had to chase anyone down to call a prescription in. When I called after my appointment, they said it would be called into the pharmacy by 6 pm. By the next afternoon, nothing has happened. I am persian and always see middle eastern practices exclusively. I drive all the way from hollywood to encino for my dentist. I am very disappointed with the lack of hospitality here and the coldness of the staff, as I expected to be a returning patient here. I came in almost in tears over my situation very nervous and they were very dismissive and rude, rushed me out with no papers, and did not help me that "same day" which is the whole reason i came. I let the receptionist know that I did find out about this establishment by searching same day dermatologist and chose them specifically because they had an appointment available within a couple of hours of the time i was googling a dermatologist. Very ironic that it's taking so long. Certainly not same day service. As of now, my prescription has not been called in. I will post an edit if they do call it in. TLDR: This is more of a money-grab medspa than an actual doctor for health issues. If you're not there for a cosmetic fix, they don't want to help you. definitely not same day service read more
