It's hard to read all of these positive reviews regarding Dr. Hazany and his team because when I had about 4-5 with this office I never met a kind dermatologist who could offer exceptional care. What I experienced was quite the opposite. About 3 years ago I completed the SHI scar system where they inject you with Sculptra, do TCA cross, and then finish off with a highly aggressive subsicion procedure that is done with the Hazany Liberator. After the procedures, I have been left with severely lax skin and droopy skin on one side of my face. Additionally, I also was left with a deep linear indent on the same side. It also feels stiff in that area of my face and I continuously get intermittent swelling from time to time. Recently, new studies have come to light to explain these changes, and its because the subsicion tool that Hazany uses cuts to much and far too deep into your face causing all the strong rooted attachments in your face to be permanently cut. I get so incredibly angry with Salar Hazany because I was never told about these potential consequences. Despite asking to be seen at the time for these complications, their office refused. I couldn't believe what had happened to me. As the years have gone on, I have found out that Salar Hazany was bullying patients on forums like Reddit and convincing people to go to his office by acting like a fake patient. Ultimately, he got banned from Reddit, and it's a post that you can still find on there. I also found out that these complications have been brought up to Hazany before by other patients, and despite having seen them, his office declines their existence. Lastly, I was treated so poorly at this office and at times did not feel safe. I deeply regret not bringing my mother or father at the time, since I was relatively young. Dr. Hazany's temperament is highly unprofessional to say the least. Through all these procedures I developed the following complications- permanent stiffness in the right side of my face, droopy skin, permanent hyperpigmentation, thicker scarring (because Sarah his PA and sister erroneously injected a full layer of sculptra with the wrong technique), and so so much emotional turmoil. They will not tell you this, but at least by doing your research you can become aware of it through reviews like this. This was not a good place with good people, and I deeply regret turning to them for help. read more

I decided to go see Dr. Hazany to remove a knuckle pad on my thumb. I have tried to get it removed before but it wouldn't go away. I have a client facing job and the knuckle pad looks like a wart, so it has made me self conscious. To remedy my problem, Dr. Hazany used a very precise laser to remove it. The whole process was done in minutes and I didn't feel a thing. Still don't feel anything. I didn't want to deal with insurance, just wanted to pay for quality service and I got it. This review is LONG overdue, after having a mole removed by Dr. Hazany in November 2021... After thorough research into finding the best possible Dr. and Dermatologist for a mole that I had my entire life, right smack in the middle of my chest- I came across Dr. Hazany on Yelp. I saw his insanely good work on skin cancer patients where he left little to no scar, and I was impressed. I'd researched and saw many photos of mole removals and followed my gut and made an appointment with Hazany- my first app was back in April of 2021.... The unexpected happened at this appointment. Hazany was giving me a thorough body exam for cancerous looking moles (as my mother had melanoma in her 20's)- when suddenly he felt the need to look at my husband. Within seconds he noticed a strange looking mole on my husband's torso that he said had to immediately be removed. I was shocked and worried, but we trusted Hazany and of course moved forward. We anxiously awaited results over the long weekend, luckily the mole was completely benign, but it looked extremely suspicious and Hazany made the right move to take it off. Hazany personally called us to tell us the good news, and I appreciate him taking the time to do so. This was a shocking experience but I am glad my husband went with me to my appointment today, as the mole could have just as easily been melanoma. After this experience I took a step back from my mole removal and let our emotions settle, and then made my appointment for my chest mole removal. Hazany suggested peptide shots in a series in order to prevent scaring as I have extremely thin skin on my chest- and I took his advice, I went in for my first peptide shot in Nov, then had the mole removal in December. Hazany is extremely confident, caring, and straightforward with his answers. He's an expert in removals and the removal itself was completely painless... Now to the results: WOW, it's been four months since I had the removal and you'd never even know I had a large mole in the middle of my chest. I have extremely thin skin on my chest and was worried I would have a large scar...my skin has almost completely filled in and there's no "scar" so to speak. I just want to applaud Hazany for his excellent work, care and attention to detail, both to my husbands needs and my own. He has a dry sense of humor which helped calm my anxious self (I'd been procrastinating having my mole removed for years as I was worried about the scarring). I am new to Southern California and dont know many people yet. So when I found a weird spot on my nose that kept bleeding every few weeks and just wouldn't heal, I looked to Chat GPT, Claude and Gemini for an answer. They all told me to see Dr. Salar Hazany, the best skin cancer surgeon in California. At first, I was really nervous hearing the C word, but I'm happy I made an appointment. Dr.Hazany painlessly biopsied the spot and the results came back as a type of skin cancer called basil cell. Dr.Hazany did Mohs surgery with small slices that he would check under the microscope. He would only come back and take pieces that were still cancer and in the end he had to take a pretty decent piece of my nose after 6 paper thin slices. Dr. Hazany and Sarah did an amazing job revising my TCA burn scars. I had an unfortunate burn accident which caused disfigurement on my cheeks. I later originally treated for my scars with the use of energy devices by other practioners which unfortunately yielded not nearly as much improvement as I wanted. I was pretty close to giving up hope until I decided to give the Scar Healing Institute a try starting August of last yr. These scars have caused me a ton of agony and in the past I felt like other practioners had zero empathy for me with this accident. However, I felt like the team here at SHI truly cared about me. In addition to them being meticulous in their work, they are also all very fun to talk to btw! I had Phenol Cross, sculptra, and multiple subcisions done ~ including the liberator once ~ across 10 months and the improvement has been game changing. I would say around 80% - my scars have been lifted significantly and blended with the surrounding skin. Some of the scars have seemingly disappeared while the deep ones look much more shallow. I still want to pursue a dermabrasion to go to polish off my skin for further blending, texture, tone, and collagen regeneration (honestly I could skip this step as I am getting compliments for my skin already but I want to get my skin to a degree where it is as good as possible!) This is an invasive procedure but I have faith in Dr Hazany and his team to do a good job I will update the review with pictures to show my dermabrasion once I get it done and allow the redness to settle a bit. Currently started a new nursing job so gotta find time! All in all I'd highly recommend this treatment center and team for any skin issues ~ but especially pertaining to treating scars. Its in their name after all! As a patient, I know how scary it can be to pick drs but the team here is definitely very skilled when it comes to treating to scars. I was looking for a good doctor who has experienced with treating acne scarring. I came across Dr Hazany and I decided to give a consultation a try because of his high ratings. I previously tried treatments from other places in the past (including other highly rated dermatologists in Los Angeles), but nothing really worked or gave me the improvement that I wanted. I recently finished the trifecta scar treatment at Hazany Derm over the course of around 6 months (from May to November 2023). Out of all the scar treatments that I've tried before, Dr Hazany has helped me the most by far. It kind of makes me regret that I tried those other places and I should've just gone to him straight for the start. At first during the consultation, I was skeptical due to the cost, but I would say that it has definitely been worth it. It has now been 3 months since the last treatment and I would say that my scarring has significantly improved. I started going to Dr. Hazany about 3 months or so ago after going to a different dermatologist in the Beverly Hills area for some years. I've been struggling with acne scarring and hyperpigmentation for quite some time and while the last derm did help with the hyperpigmentation, he was unable to help me with me acne scarring. I remember asking the dermatologist if we could try out subcision because I did my research on the types of scars I had and I felt like that was the best treatment but he kept telling me that I only needed laser. $9,000 later...I still had the acne scars (ice pick, rolling, box car) on my face that I was told only LASER would fix. Anyway, fast forward to meeting Dr. Hazany. The first day I spoke with him I knew I made the right decision because he actually listened to my concerns and tailored a treatment plan that addressed all of the different types of scars I had. The procedures in this treatment plan included: phenol/CROSS, subcision, and laser. -Phenol/CROSS: This procedure was super easy. The staff cleansed my face, went over the areas that I wanted to target which was all the areas I had ice pick scars and they began the procedure. I felt comfortable throughout the entire process. I left the dr's office with a bunch of red dots on my face which turned into scabs 4-5 days later and eventually fell off to reveal a more even texture of skin. I've had regular TCA cross before but wow I was so, so happy with the results after ONE treatment. I cried (seriously I was so happy). - Subcision: I was very nervous for this procedure at first because it is so invasive but once I got to the office I felt better. The team made sure that I was comfortable before, during and after the procedure. I was given medication and topical treatments for numbing to be sure that I didn't feel a thing - and it worked. By the time I realized I was getting subcision the procedure was already done. Shortly after, I took an uber home and rested for the remainder of the day. The swelling lasted about 1.5 weeks for me but once things started to settle I saw amazing results and more even textured skin. - Laser: I'm currently scheduling my laser procedure which is going to help even out the skin after subcision. I'm really excited! Overall, the staff was super great. Everyone working under Dr, Hazany is really bright, professional and extremely friendly. They do a great job checking up on you, ensuring that you are properly prepped before during and after your procedures. I have seen numerous dermatologists over the years, and treatments have included cyst removal, incision/drainage, spironolactone, isotretinoin...nothing worked. I was referred to Dr. Hazany, and he determined I needed three surgeries to removed all of the "tunnels" with the disease. He just performed the third surgery, and I could not be more happy with the results. A couple of the surgeries were a little gnarly because I had a lot of tunnels - I have scars that I think will fade with time - but most importantly, I have had ZERO cysts since getting the surgeries. I came to this place for treatment of acne scars. The staff and Dr Hazany are both super nice and made me feel very comfortable. They were very honest about the complications and downtime associated with the treatment. Since the downtime at the time seemed a bit overwhelming to me, I didn't end up getting the treatment yet.
