A regular stop when I am in the area... Pros; Good pizza, frozen pizzas and subs at a decent price. I get the Dave's special sub no onions and extra meat every time I stop in along with a few frozen sausage pizzas for another time. This last stop I see they may have changed owners and moved the order/checkout counter closer to the entry door. Cons: The location isn't great especially parking in their tiny parking lot or on the street. Stairs to get in with no handicap access. Moving the counter is an improvement, but the cold draft when someone opens the door in the frigid MN winter is not pleasant. And you don't get to watch them make the pizzas anymore. Prices have gone up, but still not too bad. read more

Dave's Pizza - Order counter - Pizza Near Me - Virginia, Minnesota

I used to love it here and they used to have better crust options on their pizza but they don't anymore and they're charging ridiculous price on the subs. I used to love going here but it's not worth it anymore. It's more than Subway they could invent a smaller sub for half the price But making new things they don't want to do that that must be too much out of their budget read more

I am starting to wonder if the new owners had some sort of vendetta against the original owners because it's seems like they are going out of their way to destroy what used to be a GREAT pizza place! At first they completely changed the taste (even though they INSISTED they didn't change anything), but they did. Although.. they seemed to have went back to the original ingredients.. so.. I started ordering them again. TODAY.. however.. will be the last time! I placed my order online at 3:30 pm to be delivered at 4:45,(one large pep and 4 frozens), and after all the fees it came to $55. Called at 5pm to see where my order was and was told "it should be out for delivery". They called back 5 minutes later and said they couldn't find my order but will make it right away.. and it will be there in 30-35 minutes. 6pm hits.. I call and ask where is my order.. i am told it should be there any minute. I call back 10 minutes later.. where's my food.. and after a 20 minutes on the phone they say they don't know where my order is.. but they can make it now and will make it a priority.. ummm sorry but I don't believe you! I want my money back now.. he had the AUDACITY to say I was being hostile which then caused me to actually BECOME HOSTILE.. it's been 3 F'n hours for one pizza to be delivered a few blocks away! read more

Horrible flavor and way over priced. New owner me killed this place. Counter person was also stuffing his face with something and didn't wash his hands. Never again. So sad. Dave's used to be the place to get pizza. read more

Amazing Pizza! Generational Toppings! Awesome Owners. An absolute treasure in Northern Minnesota. Not just pizzas. Delicious subs too. read more

Dave's Pizza - Unbelievably Delicious. - Pizza Near Me - Virginia, Minnesota

I'm not sure what these new owners did to the pizza and subs. At first mixed reviews when the new owners took over a few years back. So I was back in town to give it a try for the firs time. YUCK! They totally increased the prices thru the roof, pizza was not even edbible, and the sub was a 3 out of 5. They have gone down hill and the mixed reviews are true. They are one step away from closing. WILL NOT BE BACK read more

Food is good staff was friendly and smiling all the time I feel like the pizzas have changed and sub sauce has too but all and all I would definitely come back a great little pizza shop and they have nice selection for pizzas and other stuff as well read more

Excellent sub sandwiches. My MiL is from the area so we stopped by on the way back to the cities from international falls. When my partner said there's only one kind of sub I was so confused. Haha. But the sauce is so good and it is so cheap that it definitely deserves 5 stars. I'm sure it will be our go-to for whenever go to Virginia or on the way back from further north. read more

What did you do with the sauce, it's like spaghetti sauce. No tang on it. Also mayo on subs not.the same. Seriously not good.

I grew up eating and enjoying Dave's Pizza. From start to finish, the current pizza does not remotely resemble the original Dave's Pizza. Disappointing, as Dave's Pizza was a staple of the Virginia area for over 50 years. So disappointing. I can't imagine the current establishment will be open much longer. read more

Amazing pizzas and subs. What more can I say? My family always stops and stocks up on their frozen pizzas whenever they come to visit!

The worst pizza ever. Middle not fully cooked. Can't say anything good about it. I was hoping it would be good since my first name is in the name. But I was completely wrong read more

Frozen pizzas are always a hit! Perfect size and great flavor! Will visit again and again!

I have been going to Dave's Pizza since I was young! They have always had Delicious Food, especially there frozen pizzas are the Bomb!!

Ordered just recently - the usual - Kosher Salami. Was disappointed it was in slices after decades of being cubed. I know - little things but life needs some consistency! read more

No way is a large 14", two veggie topping pizza is worth $25!!! I actually had a family member order the same size margarita pizza at an upscale joint in Wayzata for $2 less the next night. Worse, the Dave's pizza had way too much sauce. Toppings slid right off. Had to eat with a fork! What's with the 4% credit card fee? read more

The service today was great and the abundance of food was great. The pizza was super good and fresh and the abundance of slices per pizza was amazing, definitely will continue to come to this amazing pizza place. read more

My wife and I have been so busy preparing to move into our new house, sometimes it feels we forget that we need to sit down and eat too haha most places at this time we're closed, but thankfully Dave's was open. We saw a nice selection of their menu online. We decided to order a chicken Alfredo pizza with mushrooms on it and a pepperoni pizza for our son. As we were unloading some items into our new home it didn't take long before our delivery showed up and we're indulging into our fresh hot pizza. The pizza tasted delicious. We're happy and full, and look forward to ordering Dave's again some time in the future. The new owners ruined it. New ingredients. Conveyor style oven. And crazy pricing. Damn shame too. Used to be the best on the range. I got 2 pizzas and one sub. $62.38. RIDICULOUS. You'll be more satisfied with a Lotza Mozza frozen pizza. read more

Awesome Pizza. I would only suggest ordering it uncut because sometimes they add to much pizza sauce and it turns the crust mushy. The sauce leaks through the cut pieces as you bring it home. Cut it when you get home and it will be fine. read more

It's a restaurant in the neighborhood not the best in the world not the crappy it's in the world it's a pretty decent restaurant their subs are amazing you even get to see Dave himself sometimes like come on that must be amazing. But Seriously the pizzas are really good you have a bunch of choices here read more

The Original Dave's Pizza recipe. I love their thin cracker crust pizza! Their sauce, their sausage, the Dave's Special. Our family must have eaten a hundred of them when we were kids. We used to be able to get it in Kenwood in Duluth, MN. Mom and Dad used to say "How would you like to have Dave's Pizza for Dinner tonight?" And 4 kids could sure make a lot of noise. It's a wonderful memory and now whenever I'm in Virginia,MN I still stop in. And they still taste the same! Thank you Dave's! read more

Pizza was very good, plenty of sausage and mushrooms. My only complaint is that the crust was a bit soggy. It could have used another minute or two in the oven. We're just passing through on our way to Lake Kabetagoma but I would definitely order from Dave's again, just ask for an extra crispy crust. read more

Best take out pizza anywhere, there frozen pizzas are awesome, the workers are always friendly. When evere we go to Hibbing camping we go here. read more

Fast delivery and polite delivery driver. Pizza is always done to perfection and order is always right. When a mistake is made they more then make up for it. Love this place! read more

Dave's Pizza is so sick. Walked inside and it smelt glorious. Pizza was AMAZING! So glad I was able to eat here. Definitely recommend

It's just OK. Horribly overrated by the locals. The pizza is OK for thin crust and it is the only crust they offer. Staff could use some customer service training. Not friendly when you call in to order or when they deliver it. Bring cash or a debit card. They dont accept plastic but have an ATM machine inside. read more

Sadly, Dave's pizza has changed. The last 3 pizzas I've ordered have been horrible. I called and asked to speak to the manager tonight and he assured me that everything is the same. Sorry, you are either lying or have no clue. How disappointing that I need to find another pizza joint even though I've been ordering pizza for 30 years. read more

Best subs around town and great pizzas. The sauce is the magic though, same goes for their "conies" hotdogs. Stop in if you never have before you won't regret it! read more

Dave's Pizza - Dave's subs - Pizza Near Me - Virginia, Minnesota

The pizza here is delicious and the subs are wonderful. This is our go to place for a last minute supper or during TV hockey night. Service is fast and the orders are always correct. read more

I love the subs here. Whenever I'm back visiting I either buy some for dinner or get some for back home. Made to order with sauce on the side, they will survive the 4 hour drive home and a few days in the refrigerator. I have never been a fan of the pizza in the past but after trying it again, I have changed my mind. Good quality food, fast and cheap make this a must stop for me. read more

Stayed the night in Virginia and decided to give Dave's Pizza a go and was NOT disappointed! We got the pepperoni and were a little worried at first because it's thin crust but it was by far the best pizza I've ever had! Will definitely be eating here again when we are in the area! read more

This is has been a stop every year on our way home from Lake Vermillion. My friend introduced me to it 25yrs ago when we were teens and once I started bringing my own family "to the lake" they too became addicted. I only wish we had one in the Cities! Instead we buy three dozen frozen pizzas every summer and hoard them all year until we can restock again the next summer. It's become such a part of our family tradition because they are that yummy of a little frozen pizza. The sausage is the household fave. read more

I have been eating at Dave's since a child. I have never tasted a better pizza than Dave's. My own family owned a pizzeria and it was nowhere close to as good as Dave's. I make a trip once a year over 400 miles to get a fresh pizza and frozens. Hands down the best pizza EVER! read more

This review is pretty much the same as my Poor Gray's because Dave's has the same yummy pizza squares. Mmm, mmm good. =)

I live in Chicago and I picked up two footlong subs from Dave's on Friday, 11/25. All of us got deathly ill within 48 hours with severe diarrhea and vomiting. I would NEVER eat at Dave's again! GROSS! None of the people who work at Dave's wear plastic gloves while touching the food? Isn't this the norm for the industry?? read more

This has ALWAYS been my favorite pizza in the whole world! Dave's Pizza has been the local favorite for over 40 years; this carry-out only pizza place is ALWAYS busy. Since I don't get up to Virginia much any more, my mouth waters just thinking about their pizza.....and their subs are the best ever as well-you don't order the ingredients you want on the sub, they only come one way-but they are the best, and wrapped in foil the way a sub should be. Whenever we do get up to the Range, we can hardly wait to get pizza and subs from Dave's! Very reasonably priced, they have both fresh and frozen pizza. read more

Excellent pizza n subs the food is right prices not really expensive the are very fast n sufficient and you don't have to wait for your food long read more

Dave's is well known for their pizza but don't miss an opportunity to try one of their subs, so good and only $2.50 for a footlong.

This is the best pizza ever! Whenever we are in town, this is the place to stop. We typically bring 10-20 frozen pizzas home with us to get us through, though they never last. The price is fantastic and the subs are great for a bite on the road. It's a must stop when in Virginia. I always forget, they are cash or check only. read more
