I get the Dave's special sub no onions and extra meat every time I stop in along with a few frozen sausage pizzas for another time. This last stop I see they may have changed owners and moved the order/checkout counter closer to the entry door. Cons: The location isn't great especially parking in their tiny parking lot or on the street. Stairs to get in with no handicap access. Moving the counter is an improvement, but the cold draft when someone opens the door in the frigid MN winter is not pleasant. And you don't get to watch them make the pizzas anymore. Prices have gone up, but still not too bad.

Vi's ended up being our favorite stop. We ordered a Sauerkraut Pizza for the first time, and it blew us away! The tangy Kraut with the rich cheese and perfectly greasy, flavorful crust was everything you want in a classic dive-style pizza. The cheese was great quality, the crust had just the right consistency, and the whole thing hit the spot after a long day outdoors. We also grabbed an order of onion rings, it was a massive portion, perfectly crispy! It was honestly shocking to find this level of quality so far away from the city. We sat at the bar with a friendly bartender and chatted with some locals playing pull tabs, which just added to the charm. Great food, great people, and exactly the kind of small-town gem you hope to stumble into while exploring.

I talked to the table next to me who agreed, in fact like me the lady at that table ate almost two of her tacos before she couldn't handle it any more. I told them I was having the same difficulty. One waiter said the tacos should be more "sweet" not spicy. Our waitress said others had complained today regarding the spiciness too. I stopped eating my tacos, chips and salsa, since I couldn't identify where the spice was coming from. When I asked my waitress, who had admitted others were complaining, about a discount since I couldn't finish my food since the heat kept building in my mouth. She stated I couldn't get a discount since it was Taco Tuesday so the food was already discounted. Not pleased. To add insult to injury the lady at the table next to me made the same complaint and she was offered new food. I don't know if it was because her husband made the complaint on her behalf, and I was a table of one? Very disappointed in service and food.
