I was finally able to contact Dave, and I am sorry to report that he has moved away from the Raleigh area.

“Dave quoted me around 200 bucks less than them and also determined rotors just needed resurfacing and not needed replacement.”

I'm late posting this review, but I want to reiterate all the previous reviews' compliments. From…read morescheduling to picking up my car, the process was easy and transparent. I brought it in for an issue I thought was the culprit and was instead shown a different cause of my problem. What I love is the digital inspection and the transparent pricing. This shop has earned my future business.

Reasonable price, great owner, and nice location…read more Came in for an oil change and to track down the cause of a recurring stall issue with my Volkswagen Tiguan. The mechanic listened, asked good follow-up questions, made sure he understood the problem before drawing any conclusions, and then diagnosed it cleanly. The part arrived within the window he quoted (2-3 hours), was installed without fuss, and the final bill was reasonable. What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. That said, I am a big fan of this establishment and will be using them for repairs in the future (apparently sooner than I want :) Bonus: he pointed me to a wonderful Indian place across the street, Biryani, which I'd highly recommend if you have time to kill while your car is being worked on.

Hands down, the best. I can't believe that there are not swarms of people posting reviews on here…read more King's seems to have a long history in Raleigh. Every time I mention it, people say, "Duh. You didn't know about King's? My father sent me, and his father before him." Service is fast, friendly, and honest. We love King's and will never go anywhere else.

In all my life I've never cared or taken the time to leave a bad review for any business, until…read morenow. My experience here made it completely necessary. I brought my 2003 Ford Escape in simply because the ABS light was on. They charged me an absurd $246.68 just for a diagnostic fee to pull codes C1145/C1234, and then quoted $613 total to replace a single front wheel speed sensor (a standard 30min to an hour max with an older rustier job with a cheap part). When I asked if they could apply the diagnostic fee toward the repair, the advisor dismissively told me that rolling diagnostic fees into repairs is a "myth." (that claim is entirely false, as many reputable shops routinely credit diagnostic fees toward authorized repairs). When I pointed out how over-inflated the pricing was, and that I'd save more money having to pay a diagnostic fee at another shop and do the service there, he simply responded "okay" and showed zero willingness to work with me. This is a textbook example of predatory charging and exploitation of customers. I paid the ridiculous diagnostic fee just to get my vehicle out of there, and I will never return. Take your money elsewhere and go to a shop where they respect their customers.

I would not recommend this mechanic company to anyone. I trusted Josh and Justin to install a new…read morerear end and driveshaft in my truck, and they assured me everything would be done right and I'd be "ready to ride." That couldn't be further from the truth. They called me around 2 AM saying the job was complete and asked me to send the remaining balance. Just minutes later, my driver reported that the truck was shaking extremely bad. When I called them back, they told my driver to meet them about 10 miles away--only to then say there was nothing they could do. Since then, I have been calling them all morning with no answer. On top of that, my toolbox was stolen off my truck while it was in their possession. This entire experience has been unprofessional, dishonest, and unacceptable. I paid $4,000 for work that was clearly not done correctly, and now I'm left dealing with additional damage and missing property. If they do not communicate with me ASAP, I will be filing a civil suit and taking this matter to court. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

We got the estimate and it was ridiculous. I know how to work on cars for the most part, but since Im in Maryland I was kind of stuck either paying the ridiculous prices or going to fix it myself 6 hours away. Justin agreed to do the work for an extremely reasonable and fair price, and did it the same day. I ordered the part from the local auto store and he picked it up and put it in withing an hour or so. He sent me videos of what he was doing as well as constant updates along the way. There is NO REASON to find anyone else to work on this car for me anymore, as I know he knows what hes doing and is reliable and reasonably priced. Very Satisfied
