Tried to tow my car out of a private property parking space. Handicap placard was not displayed but I showed it to him when he arrived and he demanded I pay him $180 CASH for doing absolutely NOTHING! I was in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire on 9/7/21, when I got a flat tire. AAA dispatched Dave's Garage for the repair. The driver stripped two of the lug nuts and said they were special lug nuts that required a special tool to remove the lug nuts. He said he needed to tow my vehicle to the garage and it would be ready the next day. I declined. I called AAA told them what happened and they dispatched Dana Towing and Repair. The driver confirmed the two stripped lug nuts. He used a smaller socket and removed the lug nuts In no time. Installed the spare and I continued to enjoy my Hampton Beach Vacation. While shopping at Market Basket Seabrook my auto battery lost its charge. It was late on Friday evening and Dave's Auto showed up with the intent to tow my Auto within 30 minutes. The driver got the car operating and recommended that I service a poor connection at the garage. A fellow employee of Dave's Auto stayed late at the garage to bring me and my groceries home. These guys have no people skills. I had an appointment for them to look over my vehicle to see what was wrong and I get to the garage 10 minutes before my appointment and they don't take me till 45 minutes after the scheduled time and they still charged me to look it over!! They were very unpleasant and it turns out my vehicle didn't have the issues they claimed it to have had. They're also very rude and smart***** when it comes to getting your vehicle after it was towed. They only accepted cash and the man on duty was very rude. Literally the biggest scum bags I've ever dealt with in my life. I was towed from a lot where the employee inside said we'd be fine. They added a $60 charged for using "special equipment" to tow my vehicle because it was all wheel drive. When I went in to talk to them, tell them that I am over an hour from home and no where to stay, they refused to accept a post dated check as I did not have the 200$ they were demanding when they had JUST towed it within 30 minute. Their lot fee is 45$ a day even though they PARKED THE CAR ON THE SIDE STREET! Park the car on a side street (PUBLIC PROPERTY) and charging me for it. Sickening. read more

My car had broken down less than 200 feet away, way before closing time, and he refused to help. He pretended that he didn't know where I was when I was literally outside the motel/ hotel next door, told him that, and he said I have no idea where that is and hung up on me. These people don't understand what pay it forward mean or even what a good deed is. I hope when they need a helping hand they don't get one and someone is just as rude to them as they were to me and my family. Went to the beach to get out of the hot sun with my husband and two kids. Knowing $100 would be more then we needed. And our car got towed by them. That is all we had on us for cash and they wanted $185.00. My two kids were scared and did not understand what was going on. Hampton Beach has a premium on parking and strict rules in place with no less than 300,000+ people on a nice sunny day. Everybody has to pay. You're lucky you didn't have to drive to Portsmouth... I needed my car towed home from the beach. These people were polite enough to pick my car up within 10 minutes. They then decided it was a fabulous idea to bring me, my girlfriend, and my car back to their garage so the driver could spend an hour eating lunch before we were even on our way. This is a terrible business. Rude, thieves and liars and if you can possibly in any way avoid using them you should. They towed my girlfriends car from a poorly marked spot at 1 in the morning and after asking us to follow to their garage to retrieve left to do another tow without giving her the car back. The staff was incredibly rude, lied in the bill (charged for "storage" even though she literally picked the car up immediately) and were generally awful to deal with. Great service and knowledgable mechanics. Honest shop...My first stop in I told them I needed a new starter ($250) and when I picked my Jeep up they said it was only a bad connection and it ended up being a fairly cheap fix. They've saved me at least three times when I've stopped-in, first thing in the morning, when I've had somewhere I needed to be. Not to mention, twice I've dropped my Jeep off after hours and had a late employee offer me a ride back home. Solid customer service and solid mechanics! read more

Spent many days with a vehicle there with a battery issue which they could not resolve althoughth the held the car and charged for the services. Best Buy in Portsmouth was able to look at and resolve within 10 minutes vs the many hours / days spent here. I actually would say this garage should be shut down. My bf and I R from out of town and got our car towed literally across the st from where I guess we shouldn't have parked ( okay totally our fault but everyone makes mistakes) and when I say towed across the st I mean that literally and they charged us 185 which obviously we were upset about it but who wouldn't be? It's a rip off but regardless we paid. One of the employees continued to mouth off to us because we were upset about the price (EVEN THO WE ALREADY PAID IT) and my bf started asking for names to report their unprofessional behavior, one of the employees got in my Bfs face puffed out his chest like a retarded gorilla and was nose to nose with my BF. My BF told him repeatedly to back away from him and when he wouldn't he reached out his hands to move him out of his space since clearly that alone is so unprofessional and SCARY... and in my opinion for an employee to even do anything like that is grounds for termination but it gets worse. This A HOLE employee literally throws my BF to the ground beats him repeatedly on the face and head and then kicks him. I'm watching in horror begging and yelling for anyone to help.... No one would... I can't explain the pain U feel watching the love of UR life getting beaten and being powerless. My BF suffered two black eyes stitches across his forehead and a SEVER CONCUSSION. This is absolutely not okay. The concussion was so bad they thought he could have had internal bleeding or a skull fracture.... R u kidding me WTF?!?!?and I can't express how disgusted I am with everyone at that garage that participated physically and by doing nothing. I have been AAA member for years and have been pleased.Yesterday I CalledAAA when my truck wouldn't start.I knew it was due for a new battery and figured I would have the AAA respondent do that.I was only broken down in my driveway and didn't need to use the truck immediately.Dave's Garage was there promptly,the driver was professional and friendly.He suggested that he jump start me&that I follow him to their garage about 2miles away to install the battery and the headlight that he noticed was out.I drove right down, got the repairs done in minutes&was on my way.I was pleased with all aspects of this AAA/Dave's Garage experience. read more
