    Weeping Willow Garage

    (8 reviews)

A little more than two months ago, before I knew any better, I brought my car into Chuck at Weeping…read moreWillow Garage in order to have my front brake rotors resurfaced and to have the engine oil changed. I brought my car in at 8:00 AM on a Monday morning, and I was told that my car would be ready at the end of the day. I left my cell phone number and told Chuck to call me if there were going to be any delays which would prevent my car from being ready as promised. I showed up at the garage at 5:00 PM, and after waiting around for almost an hour, I noticed that they were closing up the shop. I asked what was going on, and they said that my car wasn't ready because they had a "hard time" finding new brake rotors for my car (How hard could it be to find brake rotors for a six year old Toyota Camry?). I became upset as, first of all, nobody called me up to tell me of this delay, and secondly, I only wanted my brake rotors resurfaced not replaced. I was told that there was nothing that could be done, as my car needed new brake rotors, and they had to wait for them to come in. I asked one of the mechanics to drop me off at home, and he said that he couldn't, as he was traveling in the opposite direction of my home. Instead, I called a neighbor, and he picked me up. The next day I called Chuck and asked him what had happened. He said that he left the shop early as he had to go pick up his son from school. He reiterated what his mechanics told me the day before, and promised me that the car would be ready that afternoon. Again, I asked for the courtesy of a phone call if there were going to be any delays. I showed up at the garage at 5:00 PM, and again I was kept waiting around. I saw Chuck, and I asked him if my car was going to be ready, and he said yes. At around 6:00 PM, Chuck told me that my car was ready, and wrote up the receipt. I noticed that I was being charged for a complete brake job when I only asked for new brake pads and a resurfacing of my front brake rotors. I was not charged for an oil change, as I found out that it was never done. I asked Chuck about this, and he simply said, "You needed new brakes" (It would have been nice if he had asked me first before doing the work). I paid for the repairs and left, feeling like I had been taken advantage of. On the way home, I noticed that my brakes were grinding. At first I thought that this was normal, but when the grinding persisted, I brought the car back to the garage the next day. Chuck at first told me that this grinding was normal, but when I insisted that he take a look at it, he told me to leave the car, and he would take a look at it later in the day. I called him up at closing, and he said that he had been very busy that day, and he wasn't able to get around to my car. He promised me that the car would be ready the next day, and I told him that I would be in to pick up the car in the afternoon whether it was ready or not. As promised, I came in at 5:00PM the next day to pick up my car. Chuck said that he had checked out the brakes, and that nothing was wrong with them. I picked up the keys and took the car, and on the way home, I noticed that the brakes were making the exact same noise as they had been making before! This time, I brought my car into another mechanic down the road (Tony's Auto Service), and after examining my car, they said that the wrong size rotors had been installed! They asked me who had done my brakes, and when I told them that Chuck at Weeping Willow Garage had done my brakes, they rolled their eyes. They told me that Chuck and the other mechanics at Weeping Willow are incompetent, and a lot of people have had problems with them. Tony's Auto Service agreed to fix my brakes at cost, and suggested that I try to get my money back from Chuck. Since I didn't want to bother with Chuck again, I just wrote off the money I had wasted having my brakes done at Weeping Willow Garage. I haven't brought my car back to Weeping Willow Garage, and since I started bringing my car to Tony's Auto Service, I have never had a problem! ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS OF WASHINGTON AND WARREN COUNTY: AVOID WEEPING WILLOW GARAGE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF AND LIED TO!

No nonsense or upselling. Drop-off and return was also simple. During my most recent rental with the trailer, a gentleman came and helped hook it up and confirm all lights were in working order before sending me on my way rather than leaving me to do this on my own. A few days later a came back to drop it off. When I went inside to start the return process, I was greeted with, "Hey, I saw you pull in and I got everything started for you." A quick confirmation of the final price, which remained unchanged, and I was done. Less than a minute and I was on my way. Seeing the only other review was a negative one also related to a U Haul experience, I felt compelled to share my very positive experiences. Thank you for the friendly service! Im sure I'll be back again soon.

The guy from the Towing company named Bobby called u ahul found us another trailer and was even nice enough to go get it for us. Little did we know that after about 2 hours Bobby came back empty handed and explained to us that the place that has the closest traile, "this Dump in Washington NJ" called the cops on him and told him to get off their properrty. I asked multiple times what was the name of the place and Bobby said he cannot releas that information. we called U haul roadside again and they gave us the complete run down of this U haul place. they called the police on Bobby and stated that they "Owned" the equipment and he could not take it. After Bobby explaining to them and the police This Dishonest and Worthless place U haul has representing them left us starnded High and Dry so that they can rent out the trailer and collect there commsion on it. Mike Maguire, Anthony Hoffman, and Ed (sorry I didn't catch his last name) were beyond friendly and immediately patched my tire for me. They could have easily said, "You can pick it up tomorrow," and end their long day on time, but they all happily stayed to help make my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day end well. They have earned a lifelong customer in me, and I encourage you to go there for your tire needs. We are fortunate to have them in Washington! Thanks so much, gentlemen! So, here's an additional review to add to my first...once again, I found myself with a tire issue in an emergency situation. With less than an hour until closing, and a full waiting room, the folks at Mavis came through AGAIN! Judy was patient with me, calmed me down, and explained what the issue was with my leaky tire. This place is my new go-to for oil changes, tires, and anything else for my MINI. No more driving to the dealership in Morristown when Mavis is the place that keeps me on the road! Thank you, Judy and your crew!

Three days later check engine light back on, had another reputable mechanic look at issue. Mechanic informed me #2 new spark plug was cracked, remaining newly installed spark plugs were only hand tight. In addition Mavis installed cheap after marked ignition coil despite charging me $159 for the coil and $40 for each spark plug. Replaced cracked spark plug and cheap after market coil with Ford parts costing less than what Mavis charged. Remaining spark plugs were then tighten correctly. I would not recommend Mavis due to their poor service quality and inflated parts pricing. I did reach out to Mavis seeking reimbursement for additional repair, have not heard back from customer service.

So I was actually going to Good Year and saw Tire Associates that was my 1st mistake . Walked in and said Good morning and not a word it' was like a ghost walk in. So I said Good morning again that's was my 2nd mistake so I said I need a tire. And the gentleman said I don't have it. I said wow sir I didn't even tell you what I needed. He said well I know I'm not gonna have it try up the road maybe they can help you there. My 3rd mistake was me still trying cause I was confused in what just happened did I say something wrong this is a Tire Shop right ‍ only to realize it wasn't me it was him not wanting to service me. I was like wow no problem I don't like to assume but I knew he didn't and wasn't going to help me so I left said have a nice day while another man just stood there looking at me like go already. I will kill you with kindness. Im to bless to be stress so I left. And never looked back. The man was rude never said Good morning or hello. Even if this business was having a Buy 1 tire get 3 for free and that's a great deal I still wouldn't go back. A customer should never feel the way I did that day. And let's just say he was having a bad day still I didn't deserve that kind of treatment. Stay blessed. I now go to Oxfords Tires in Washington Ken is the best. I was greeted and asks how could he help. And they also do other mechanic work so it's like a two and one. Thank you Oxfords Tires in Washington NJ for knowing how to treat people. Tire Associates you need to rebuild this business starting from within
