I really wish I could give more than 5 stars to the team at Mavis for saving my day today. I rolled in there only a few minutes before closing with a big nail sticking out of my tire. Mike Maguire, Anthony Hoffman, and Ed (sorry I didn't catch his last name) were beyond friendly and immediately patched my tire for me. They could have easily said, "You can pick it up tomorrow," and end their long day on time, but they all happily stayed to help make my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day end well. They have earned a lifelong customer in me, and I encourage you to go there for your tire needs. We are fortunate to have them in Washington! Thanks so much, gentlemen! So, here's an additional review to add to my first...once again, I found myself with a tire issue in an emergency situation. With less than an hour until closing, and a full waiting room, the folks at Mavis came through AGAIN! Judy was patient with me, calmed me down, and explained what the issue was with my leaky tire. This place is my new go-to for oil changes, tires, and anything else for my MINI. No more driving to the dealership in Morristown when Mavis is the place that keeps me on the road! Brought car in for check engine light. Was told cylinder #2 misfire, service rep recommended replacing spark plugs and ignition coil, $527. Three days later check engine light back on, had another reputable mechanic look at issue. Mechanic informed me #2 new spark plug was cracked, remaining newly installed spark plugs were only hand tight. In addition Mavis installed cheap after marked ignition coil despite charging me $159 for the coil and $40 for each spark plug. Replaced cracked spark plug and cheap after market coil with Ford parts costing less than what Mavis charged. Remaining spark plugs were then tighten correctly. I would not recommend Mavis due to their poor service quality and inflated parts pricing. I did reach out to Mavis seeking reimbursement for additional repair, have not heard back from customer service. read more

I chose this location because of proximity to my home. the shop when arrived was not the least busy! it took over 2.5 hours to change 4 new tires. I've been to other shops where they were slammed and still were able to get me in and out in a decent time For tire replacements. if your in rush or only have limited time, I suggest taking you vehicle elsewhere. I address my concern to the desk and service writer, and only got lip service. For voicing my gripe. Non professional!! these guys sit around chitchatting to get their billable hours in for a job. Made an appointment with the Washington location for an alignment and mounting/balancing a set of tires. The manager, and service staff all were professional and knowledgeable throughout the visit. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change. When I arrived, I was told at the front desk that they are unable to do oil changes because the tank that holds the disposed oil was full. They were trying to get a truck to come empty it. Seriously??? Oil changes are one of their signature services and no one checked those levels?? YOU HAD ONE JOB!!! What solutions did they offer? Well, they said I could try back in the afternoon to see if they had been able to have the dank drained. The next suggestion was to go to the Mavis in Clinton or Hackettstown...10-12 miles away without an appointment. I would think GOOD customer service would mean: - Scheduling a weekly tank clean out...a one-off if business was booming one week. - Call the customer BEFORE he makes the trip to the shop instead of wasting his time. - Call the customer IMMEDIATELY when service is available again. Don't put it on ME to keep checking back. - If you have to send them to a sister shop, CALL THE LOCATION FOR THE CUSTOMER to make the arrangements. Don't just tell the customer to drive there and take a chance on there not being a slot to get in. It was YOUR screw up, not MINE. YOU do the work!! - OFFER AN OIL CHANGE AT NO CHARGE for the inconvenience. A free oil change is the least you All the bays were empty, so they lost business during the day. They lost mine for sure based not just on the inconvenience, but also the service is terrible. I've had bad experiences with them before and this is the last straw. read more

Stay away! My recent experience at Mavis Tire in Hacketstown was marked by a regrettable combination of factors. Firstly, Tom's demeanor throughout the interaction was undeniably rude and dismissive, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. Furthermore, a prolonged four-hour wait compounded the dissatisfaction. I dropped off my brand new car to have a pin head nail removed and patched. Tom lied about a company policy, proclaiming he can't legally patch a tire after using fix a flat, rather I should wait for it to fail and come back to replace the tire. I explained I've had this done several times at this and other Mavis locations. He recanted and said it's his own personal policy. He refused to patch the tire after having me wait for 4 hours! I understand patching the tire is a low margin repair, but this was absolutely horrible service read more

Why do auto and tire places give women the run around. My sister went to this location after making an appointment to get her tires change only to discover not only did they not have the tires but she was told this after sitting for an hour. Then she followed their suggestion and went to the Clinton location only to be turned around again with the tires' price now higher than she was told initially. Shameful. Visited the Newton store for tires. Desk clerk said the weren't in his system and I should order them on line. This course of action removes him from any customer service. His response should have been let me help you order them now. Went down the block to Tire Pro and they didn't have them in stock but took the time to order them for me. My suggestion to u Mavis is hire and train competent employees , you know you have a high turn over at this location. Seems to be a trend your company pursues. read more

I've shared my experience with my car club members. I brought my car to simply swap out the wheel hub assembly. I supplied my own part. Typical labor costs are estimated between $159 and $201 while parts are priced between $148 and $221. At the end of two hours, I was billed $750.00. I protested and the bald shop manager actually asked me, "You tell me what it should be?" I replied "What do YOU think it should be?" Bad service and unfriendly people! They sold me 4 tires, 18 DAYS later one of the tires has a sidewall blowout. Go back for a replacement tire and they told me they would not warrant the tire unless I purchased a warranty. The tire came with One year warranty! they told me to call the manufacturer, I DID. They, (the tire manufacturers warranty dept.) spoke with the employee at Mavis (3022 ). And after some exchange between them the tire representative told me that Mavis (3022) was a complete moron and that I should go and use someone else for the warranty on the tire. So i did. Went to a competitor and they had no problem replacing the defective tire that Mavis installed. I will NEVER use Mavis again and I do NOT recommend Mavis of Washington to anyone else. Its amazing how they stay in business treating costumers so badly. One more thing, they never reset the low tire inflation indicator. When I went back (before the blowout) they just printed out directions and told me to do it.... Very BAD service!!! read more

The employees are very nice but they are SLOW AS EVER!!!! Each time I went, an excessive amount of time was taken for services that did NOT require that much time. THANK GOD FOR MAVIS on Rt 31 Washington N,J . Please don't let the stop you from getting the best service. I was leaving for Thanksgiving Break and notice a loud noise coming from my passenger wheel. I pulled into the Carwash across the street from Mavis and they said why don't you go there. Me thinking it's Thanksgiving eve its late they probably not gonna be able to help me but against my better judgment I went there anyway. And they literally saved my life my caliber metal cover was rubbing on metal and my wheel was smoking I needed to go on a 4hr ride. We would've never made it and Lord knows what could've happened Thank you to everyone who took part in getting me back on the road safe. Mavis thank you fo me the hard working guys in the back who meet me as I was pulling in God bless you all for going above and beyond. Was in a pinch, it was 5:15pm, I had an early morning flight and my tire had a slow leak. I got to the store by 5:30pm, explained the situation and they took care of the tire right away. Stopped by after work. The wear bars are up. I showed the Enterprise Fleet card & explained I wanted to stop by the next day for tires.I asked if I could get the same tires I had & was told they could be brought in for next day. I told them I would be back the next day @ 4:00 PM. I got a call at 1:00 PM & they were looking for my truck. The tires were there.I reminded them I would be there @ 4PM. I figured things were on track. I stopped after work. The truck was pulled in a bay. After 45 minutes I was told Enterprise would not approve the tires that Mavis brought in. Then why bring tires in from warehouse & make me wait? I thought by going the previous day & making it clear it was an Enterprise Fleet vehicle the person would know the procedure. Shame on Mavis for wasting my time. I left. They did not deserve my business. read more

I had been a customer there for 20 years ( When it was STS) Went with a nail in my tire and no sensor lights on. Got a call that they needed to replace tire and a sensor. When I got there they told me 2 sensors were bad. Told them not to replace it. I took my vehicle to the dealer. Told them I had a sensor light on. Guess which sensor was bad. The one they installed. So not only was my sensor in the tire they replaced good they replaced it with a defective sensor. Went back to Mavis and told them about it. Left the sensor with them. I was told they had to talk to the manager to give me a refund. Thats was 5 weeks ago s...still waiting. Will never go there again. read more

*** BEWARE *** As is common with all repair facilities where pay is based in some part on commission dollars generated, they will sell you products you do not need. At BEST, they do little to truly diagnosis an issue to see whether it can be repaired rather than replaced. We were told we needed to purchase a part when, in fact, all that needed to done was to tighten a loose valve stem. I am very glad I walked away and had this verified by another trustworthy source. I had hoped the issues from the late 1980s and 1990s were behind this organization and was very disappointed to see they were not. The stories of the company evacuating freon as a way of selling you the a/c service was quite well known at the time in addition to other nefarious behavior. Forewarned is forearmed. read more

Worst service I have ever had. They put 2 sets of wrong tires on my car. "Old" Dave drove my car about 80 mph flying up 31 to "test drive it". I have never been more scared in my life. I have gone a week with the wrong tires still on my car. I will never in my life go back to STS. read more

Had my oil changed here for the first time. I had made an appointment the night before online but when I came in they didn't see it in their system. However, they didn't miss a beat and assured me they would take care of my car and it was ready right when they said it would be. They were friendly and customer service oriented. Absolutely aweful service. They tell you that it will be an hour for an oil change but have you waiting for hours. Technicians just sit around barely doing anything, they will take their friends cars in before yours. Very rude and unprofessional. They lost a costumer today. Go somewhere else if you can! read more
