It was coolant related but couldn't tell beyond that. They recommended I see NJ motorwerks because they are VW and AUDI specialists. So I did. I meet Randy and he immediately recognized this fault code and historic issues with the A3 related to either a thermostat or Coolant sensor. I left the car and Randy gave me a lift home. He called the next day, it was fixed and ready. I didn't have a ride so he picked me up. Price was reasonable, trust was established, and he even did some extra maintenance. Very satisfied.

Three hours late I go back due to receiving no phone call. Same guy says it's done. He charges me for the oil change and, i would later find, windshield wiper fluid I did not ask for. This is the second time he's done this, but I let it go. As he hands me the keys he mentions "Your breaks should be good for another few oil changes." I think it's a bit odd for him to mention the breaks. I take the keys and drive less than a mile away. He also tried to "fix" my license plate. The top left screw is stuck, and me nor any of my other friends could get it out for fear of breaking the actual car plastic. I had my plate secured by a screw on the right corner, slightly askew. Tight enough to hold it in place and not move. The guy who worked on my car had bent the license plate over the top left screw and secured it with one opposite to the one I had holding it. As it appears he could not get it out either. I did not ask for this. I can see he was trying to help, I would have rathered he left it be or ask than to bend the plate over the screw. The next time I restarted my car the brake light is on. I check the fluid, it is fine. I call ahead of time and schedule them to be looked at. The car was brought in. I detailed "Brake light on after being seen for just an oil change Just brake light, flashing continuously, no instances where it stops. I can feel it working though when engaged and disengaged. Would like a refund on wiper fluid" He popped the hood and checked the fluid. He was told it was just in for just an oil change. He took out a scanner and scanned the codes. When asked what they were he ignored the request. He checked around the car and got on the ground on the back driver side to look at the breaks for about three minutes. He went back to the hood, cleared the codes. He says "Hey I just cleared the code, if it pops back up bring it back into the shop. The only thing I can think of is it being the break actuators, however it could just be the computer being weird." When asked for the code again there was no response. When mentioning the refund for the wiper fluid as just an oil change was requested he says "this was nothing we did, it's the cars fault due to its computer." "over three dollars?" and "This is fVcK3d up." He then gave cash and stormed in. Two days later my brake light is back on.

Eventually, it was replaced, but it took an entire month. Now, I have multiple warning lights on the dashboard and the car has been stalling. When I brought it back, I was told they would not fix it because I do not have a long-term warranty. Before purchasing the vehicle, I specifically expressed concerns about buying an older used car. The salesman, Marvin, assured me he "had my back" and not to worry if anything came up. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. The owner recently called and told me I would have to pay full price to repair the vehicle. This has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend doing business here. No nonsense or upselling. Drop-off and return was also simple. During my most recent rental with the trailer, a gentleman came and helped hook it up and confirm all lights were in working order before sending me on my way rather than leaving me to do this on my own. A few days later a came back to drop it off. When I went inside to start the return process, I was greeted with, "Hey, I saw you pull in and I got everything started for you." A quick confirmation of the final price, which remained unchanged, and I was done. Less than a minute and I was on my way. Seeing the only other review was a negative one also related to a U Haul experience, I felt compelled to share my very positive experiences. Thank you for the friendly service! Little did we know that after about 2 hours Bobby came back empty handed and explained to us that the place that has the closest traile, "this Dump in Washington NJ" called the cops on him and told him to get off their properrty. I asked multiple times what was the name of the place and Bobby said he cannot releas that information. we called U haul roadside again and they gave us the complete run down of this U haul place. they called the police on Bobby and stated that they "Owned" the equipment and he could not take it. After Bobby explaining to them and the police This Dishonest and Worthless place U haul has representing them left us starnded High and Dry so that they can rent out the trailer and collect there commsion on it. Thank god U-Haul have peopel like bobby. He came back after driving 60 miles out of the way and dealing with these crackheads in Washington and stayed and had another one of his guys bring parts from another trailer they had to get our trailer Fixed. Bobby thank you for everything but this place will hear from me again while i also report them to U haul and to BBB. Brought car in for check engine light. Was told cylinder #2 misfire, service rep recommended…read morereplacing spark plugs and ignition coil, $527. Three days later check engine light back on, had another reputable mechanic look at issue. Mechanic informed me #2 new spark plug was cracked, remaining newly installed spark plugs were only hand tight. In addition Mavis installed cheap after marked ignition coil despite charging me $159 for the coil and $40 for each spark plug. Replaced cracked spark plug and cheap after market coil with Ford parts costing less than what Mavis charged. Remaining spark plugs were then tighten correctly. I would not recommend Mavis due to their poor service quality and inflated parts pricing. I did reach out to Mavis seeking reimbursement for additional repair, have not heard back from customer service.
