A little more than two months ago, before I knew any better, I brought my car into Chuck at Weeping…read moreWillow Garage in order to have my front brake rotors resurfaced and to have the engine oil changed. I brought my car in at 8:00 AM on a Monday morning, and I was told that my car would be ready at the end of the day. I left my cell phone number and told Chuck to call me if there were going to be any delays which would prevent my car from being ready as promised. I showed up at the garage at 5:00 PM, and after waiting around for almost an hour, I noticed that they were closing up the shop. I asked what was going on, and they said that my car wasn't ready because they had a "hard time" finding new brake rotors for my car (How hard could it be to find brake rotors for a six year old Toyota Camry?). I became upset as, first of all, nobody called me up to tell me of this delay, and secondly, I only wanted my brake rotors resurfaced not replaced. I was told that there was nothing that could be done, as my car needed new brake rotors, and they had to wait for them to come in. I asked one of the mechanics to drop me off at home, and he said that he couldn't, as he was traveling in the opposite direction of my home. Instead, I called a neighbor, and he picked me up. The next day I called Chuck and asked him what had happened. He said that he left the shop early as he had to go pick up his son from school. He reiterated what his mechanics told me the day before, and promised me that the car would be ready that afternoon. Again, I asked for the courtesy of a phone call if there were going to be any delays. I showed up at the garage at 5:00 PM, and again I was kept waiting around. I saw Chuck, and I asked him if my car was going to be ready, and he said yes. At around 6:00 PM, Chuck told me that my car was ready, and wrote up the receipt. I noticed that I was being charged for a complete brake job when I only asked for new brake pads and a resurfacing of my front brake rotors. I was not charged for an oil change, as I found out that it was never done. I asked Chuck about this, and he simply said, "You needed new brakes" (It would have been nice if he had asked me first before doing the work). I paid for the repairs and left, feeling like I had been taken advantage of. On the way home, I noticed that my brakes were grinding. At first I thought that this was normal, but when the grinding persisted, I brought the car back to the garage the next day. Chuck at first told me that this grinding was normal, but when I insisted that he take a look at it, he told me to leave the car, and he would take a look at it later in the day. I called him up at closing, and he said that he had been very busy that day, and he wasn't able to get around to my car. He promised me that the car would be ready the next day, and I told him that I would be in to pick up the car in the afternoon whether it was ready or not. As promised, I came in at 5:00PM the next day to pick up my car. Chuck said that he had checked out the brakes, and that nothing was wrong with them. I picked up the keys and took the car, and on the way home, I noticed that the brakes were making the exact same noise as they had been making before! This time, I brought my car into another mechanic down the road (Tony's Auto Service), and after examining my car, they said that the wrong size rotors had been installed! They asked me who had done my brakes, and when I told them that Chuck at Weeping Willow Garage had done my brakes, they rolled their eyes. They told me that Chuck and the other mechanics at Weeping Willow are incompetent, and a lot of people have had problems with them. Tony's Auto Service agreed to fix my brakes at cost, and suggested that I try to get my money back from Chuck. Since I didn't want to bother with Chuck again, I just wrote off the money I had wasted having my brakes done at Weeping Willow Garage. I haven't brought my car back to Weeping Willow Garage, and since I started bringing my car to Tony's Auto Service, I have never had a problem! Three hours late I go back due to receiving no phone call. Same guy says it's done. He charges me for the oil change and, i would later find, windshield wiper fluid I did not ask for. This is the second time he's done this, but I let it go. As he hands me the keys he mentions "Your breaks should be good for another few oil changes." I think it's a bit odd for him to mention the breaks. I take the keys and drive less than a mile away. He also tried to "fix" my license plate. The top left screw is stuck, and me nor any of my other friends could get it out for fear of breaking the actual car plastic. I had my plate secured by a screw on the right corner, slightly askew. Tight enough to hold it in place and not move. The guy who worked on my car had bent the license plate over the top left screw and secured it with one opposite to the one I had holding it. As it appears he could not get it out either. I did not ask for this. I can see he was trying to help, I would have rathered he left it be or ask than to bend the plate over the screw. The next time I restarted my car the brake light is on. I check the fluid, it is fine. I call ahead of time and schedule them to be looked at. The car was brought in. I detailed "Brake light on after being seen for just an oil change Just brake light, flashing continuously, no instances where it stops. I can feel it working though when engaged and disengaged. Would like a refund on wiper fluid" He popped the hood and checked the fluid. He was told it was just in for just an oil change. He took out a scanner and scanned the codes. When asked what they were he ignored the request. He checked around the car and got on the ground on the back driver side to look at the breaks for about three minutes. He went back to the hood, cleared the codes. He says "Hey I just cleared the code, if it pops back up bring it back into the shop. The only thing I can think of is it being the break actuators, however it could just be the computer being weird." When asked for the code again there was no response. When mentioning the refund for the wiper fluid as just an oil change was requested he says "this was nothing we did, it's the cars fault due to its computer." "over three dollars?" and "This is fVcK3d up." He then gave cash and stormed in. Two days later my brake light is back on.

Mike Maguire, Anthony Hoffman, and Ed (sorry I didn't catch his last name) were beyond friendly and immediately patched my tire for me. They could have easily said, "You can pick it up tomorrow," and end their long day on time, but they all happily stayed to help make my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day end well. They have earned a lifelong customer in me, and I encourage you to go there for your tire needs. We are fortunate to have them in Washington! Thanks so much, gentlemen! So, here's an additional review to add to my first...once again, I found myself with a tire issue in an emergency situation. With less than an hour until closing, and a full waiting room, the folks at Mavis came through AGAIN! Judy was patient with me, calmed me down, and explained what the issue was with my leaky tire. This place is my new go-to for oil changes, tires, and anything else for my MINI. No more driving to the dealership in Morristown when Mavis is the place that keeps me on the road! Thank you, Judy and your crew!

Three days later check engine light back on, had another reputable mechanic look at issue. Mechanic informed me #2 new spark plug was cracked, remaining newly installed spark plugs were only hand tight. In addition Mavis installed cheap after marked ignition coil despite charging me $159 for the coil and $40 for each spark plug. Replaced cracked spark plug and cheap after market coil with Ford parts costing less than what Mavis charged. Remaining spark plugs were then tighten correctly. I would not recommend Mavis due to their poor service quality and inflated parts pricing. I did reach out to Mavis seeking reimbursement for additional repair, have not heard back from customer service.
