I love this place! Everything I have had been good. I suggested this place for recovery breakfast after NYE. We got there at 11 and there surprisingly wasn't a wait though it started to get crowded at 11:30/12ish. I went all out and got the huge breakfast, chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, home fries.. the works. It was delicious!! Everyone was really happy with theirs. I like how they use real maple syrup for pancakes. The Bloody Mary's are also excellent. It come with celery, a toothpick full of olive, pickle, pepperoni and a cube of pepper jack cheese. Came here for lunch on a Sunday and was very disappointed. I ordered the fried chicken platter and was underwhelmed. The mashed potatoes had no flavor and the biscuit was very dry and stale. The chicken was flavorless, it just tasted like flour. For some reason they don't like to use salt or pepper in any of there food, bummer! A great meal here. I had the chicken pot pie, wonderfully done with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. My mother had the meat loaf which was complete with mashed potatoes and brocolli, there was also a roll with it. Great little old fashion diner. Looks like Mels from Happy Days. Denise gave us great service. We had the buffalo chicken salad. It's huge with lots of chicken, blue cheese crumbles and salads fixings. So good. And a 1/2 order of onion rings. We loved it all. Couldn't eat it because such big portions. Nice place to sit outside listening to tunes from the 60's and 70's. Will not disappoint! read more

The service is great, the menu is varied and the breakfast is delicious except for one factor that keeps happening ....HAIR ON THE FOOD. My daughter and her friends go to breakfast there because of the breakfast and its convenient location. The last 5 times they have gone there for breakfast, there has been hair on the food consistently on someone's plate. Why do they keep on going I ask? Probably because they are teenagers and some of them don't care. My husband and I used to go to Dave's for breakfast all of the time. Haven't been in years due to the fact that we also had hair on our food. I am surprised that I haven't read any reviews regarding this matter. This is one of my grandmothers favorite restaurants. We let her pick today and she said she hasn't been to Dave's diner in a while and would like to go. I have only been here one other time a while ago so I did not remember what it was like. I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant had a revolving door of customers. Each being greeted in a friendly manner. The food came out extremely fast. It was at one point during our meal when I heard all the staff talking. They saw an older man getting out of his car and coming in. They said his name and they were all excited to see him. One guy yelled two days in a row we must of impressed him. It showed that they cared for their customers. The food was very tasty. I defiantly recommend bringing the family to this restaurant. read more

Love the 50's decor and the music to go with it. Lots of things to look at on the walls. I started off with a Swedish Fish martini, which seemed a little weak to me. Abner got a White Russian and we split a cup of chili. Very meaty with lots of cheese and onions on top. A friend recommended that I try the fried chicken, so that's what I go tonight. I got the 4 piece one, so that Abner could try it. The chicken was delicious. It came with mashed potatoes, cole slaw and bisquit and some gravy. (I didn't care for the gravy so much), but everything else was good. Abner got some open faced meatloaf sandwich. He said he liked it, but I tried it and I thought it had a clove-like flavor or some kind of spice in it that I didn't care for. He said it grew on him. For dessert, we tried the chocolate cake. Not very good. For some reason, the frosting tasted salty. I saw some burgers going by our table and those looked delicious. Will try that next time. read more

Came in for dinner on a whim and i sure am glad we did! This place looks and feels just like the old school diners in New Jersey. We had the sherbet punch which was delicious! The fried pickles are incredible, Grandma Elsie's sandwich is probably the best open faced turkey sandwich I've ever had. We brought a couple pieces of cake home with us as well, a chocolate and a strawberry, both were absolutely delicious. The service at Dave's was just as wonderful as their food. Stopped here because it has a large, varied menu and it's convenient to the highway on the way home from sightseeing in Plymouth. I had comfort food - meatloaf with gravy and mashed potatoes with cooked carrots and green beans on the side. Tastes great, and totally hit the spot. Husband had a heathy Greek salad with steak tips. Looked really fresh, and I tasted a steak top and they were excellent. Cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. Reasonably priced - $35 before the tip for the two of us with no apps or alcohol. Oh - and there was a long line when we arrived - out the door. But we had a table within about 10 minutes. read more
