Love the atmosphere! Food was good and boozy winter drinks were an added bonus. We ordered breakfast which was good, but some people had burgers and lunch items at their tables that looked equally as good if not better. Definitely worth checking out! We love their pancakes (huge, fluffyand warmed syrup). Make sure once you are ready to head out to ask for a cup of Joe to go! The only thing wrong with Dave's Diner is that sometimes you have to wait a long time for a table! That alone should tell you something. The food is good, reasonably priced and the wait staff is great. I love the chicken pot pie and the turkey dinner particularly. read more

Don't let the lines scare you. They will probably be out the door from morning till afternoon on the weekend, but it's worth the wait and they try to get you in pretty quickly. The menu is pretty big so read carefully and slowly. I live starting with the fried pickles for lunch. Oddly I haven't had breakfast here yet. Have been here a few times now. All times were for breakfast and experienced a pleasant time. But they offer lunch & dinner. Big menu! I do recommend that the best time to go is EARLY on a Saturday/Sunday morning before the crowd, sit outside on the patio, grab a table with an umbrella and watch out for those dragonflies. Dave's Diner has been a favorite of mine for many years as I love classic diners with good food. It's a 45 min drive to get there from where I currently live and on weekends there is always a line to wait in but I have continued to make the trip. My most recent visit compelled me to write this review. I asked our waitress if they could make a non meat version of Eggs Benedict. Pretty simple to take the Eggs Popeye Benedict and substitute the Canadian bacon with a slice of tomato. My 19 year old daughter ordered it the same way. I clearly stated I did not want any meat. When the plates came out there was a mound of home fries in between the two eggs on English muffins leaning against them. I asked the server who delivered the plates if there was meat in the home fries and she replied that there was no meat but they were cooked in bacon grease. I said I had been clear that I didn't want meat when the order was placed. Her response was for us to "just eat around the home fries". She asked if I had told the original waitress that I was "allergic to meat"? I explained I am not allergic but have not eaten meat for 44 years and presumed when my order clearly stated I did not want meat that one would think it was understood. At the very least the waitress could have offered to substitute something since the home fries contained bacon grease. I guess the look on my face told her that eating around greasy home fries wouldn't work. So she said she "guessed" they could replate them. So the plates were taken away. While they were being replated the waitress who took the order came to the table to tell me I never said I didn't want the home fries. I said that stating I did not want any meat should have been a pretty clear indicator. She then went on to reprimand me "Well in the future you should be more clear when you place the order". Funny, I thought I had been very clear. What I wanted to say was, "Well if you used your brain you would have mentioned the bacon grease right after I said I did not want any meat." The same vegetable eggs Benedict were brought on clean plates even though they had already been with bacon grease homefries. I let it go at that point and had breakfast with our friends whom we had invited to meet us there for the first time. I know they won't return and now I am not sure I will either. read more

Came on a Thursday around 9am. Waited 10 minutes before a waitress even greeted us. Another 10 for them to take our order and another 20 for the food to get to us. The place wasn't even that busy. Scrambled eggs were rubbery. Didn't care for the home fries. My wife got over easy eggs and hash browns. Said it was ok, nothing special. Won't be back due to the poor service read more

I'm from New Jersey, the home of diners, so I feel like I should know my stuff when it comes to diners. I have had relatives living in the MIddleboro and Taunton area for years, but this was the only time we were able to actually get away from family dinners and try a restaurant. A diner near-by? Yep. I'm there. Dave's Diner is a retro looking place with a huge menu plus specials, which must change daily since they use a white board above the stool seating. I chose to have the Corn Chowder with the Chicken Salad wrap, which both were delicious. My total bill came out to $9. How can I complain about that! The cup of corn chowder was really thick, giving me no reason to feel like I needed a bowl. Then the chicken salad wrap needed a slice of cheese and maybe a little more lettuce, but it was already on a whole wheat wrap, and was quite large. Since I have plans to visit some family in December in Middleboro and Peabody, I will also plan a visit to Dave's Diner for some brunch as well. It's really a can't miss in an area with not so many restaurants. read more

OK, gave this place a second try for lunch with co-workers. Pretty much the same experience.....great service, cool atmosphere, but the food was just average. I had a cup of soup and a grilled cheese with french fries. It was just OK - nothing to rave about. The fries were a little under par and I am still tasting them as I write this review! Never a dull moment here. Staff is pleasant and helpful and not shy about sharing their favorites. I've been a few times and feel the need to finally express everything meal I have had has been to perfection. I am picky and hard to please but they get me and appreciate what I want and create it every time!! Worth the wait if there is one. If no wait, it's your lucky day! I totally don't appreciate watching a group of Loud construction men having an older couple moved from were they are seated to a company 4 more men. The look at the couple face broke me. For these men if you are regularly set in the same spot this doesn't warrant your territory. The group was loud and the old couple totally looked uncomfortable and very much their breakfast experience was ruined. The waitress should never asked them to move at least have these men pay for the old couple meal. This happened Saturday morning April 20th around 7:46am. read more

Dave's is the coolest diner I have ever been to in the state. They are open 7 days a week, they serve great food, and there are also a lot of desserts to choose from! They also serve excellent breakfast! The menu is fun with all the favourites of the 50's, but they also have traditional meals, as well. I usually get 'The Bird' -an oversized turkey burger - with fries and a shake! I also went on St. Patty's Day once for the traditional Corned Beef, and it was tasty! If you're in the area I highly recommend this place anytime of the day. Also, if you're interested, they have great car shows in the summer on Thursday nights! Bring the kids! :D read more

Just wanted to say I've only tried the breakfast menu here but it was very good. They would have gotten 5 stars if the coffee cup didnt go empty which it did twice! Breakfast places got to know keep at least asking if they want it topped off. I find that many places over salt, season and color up their homefries, the homefires were decent here. Everything was fresh and hot and the service was pretty good too. You can tell they are doing it right there is a crowd there and many are probably regulars. read more

We were in town for 4 days and enjoyed it enough to eat here 3 times. Breakfast items were very good. Grilled English muffins added a nice touch to my perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs. The chicken was very moist and everyone enjoyed it. The burgers were good, not great like I was expecting from all the reviews. The clam chowder was thin and not loaded with clams so disappointing there but only because we had been lucky to enjoy fantastic chowder most this trip. read more

Never left a Yelp review before, but this place was so good I have to. My boyfriend and I try a new breakfast place every weekend, but this has been hands down our favorite. The service was quick and everyone seemed genuinely friendly. We usually finish our drinks before the food comes out, but even our meals arrived super fast. We thought it was too good to be true, but everything we ate was so delicious. Our server, Ashley, had a smile even when she was talking to other staff, and carried a warm aura. I was looking for a place to go since we were going to be in the area due to going to Edaville. I found the diner on yelp. I wanted to go someplace a little unique. Needless to say, we were not disappointed! I had the oriental wrap sandwich, which was delicious. Hubby had the bourbon chix combo which he really enjoyed. Our waitress Hannah was super nice, and the service was prompt. I don't know if they take reservations, but the place was packed at 6 pm on a Monday, The menu is quite big. Dave's diner is a cool classic diner with good food and prices. I go primarily for breakfast and have never been disappointed. Their early-bird specials (until 8:30 a.m.) are a great deal and the biscuits and gravy are the best I've found in Eastern MA. Waitresses are always friendly and the coffee is always hot.
