My personal experience with him was extremely disappointing and left me very uncomfortable. His behavior and attitude did not make me feel that he genuinely respects or cares about his clients. What concerned me most was hearing him say himself that he doesn't care about his clients. As a parent, that is not the kind of attitude I want from someone I'm trusting with my child. I also personally found his behavior toward women to be inappropriate and unprofessional. I'm sharing my experience because I believe parents deserve to know what they may encounter before deciding who they trust with their children. I would not personally return or recommend him.

This used to be JC's Barbershop, and for some reason. the name has been changed to Super Fades!…read moreJust like what Steven B. wrote, management needs to talk to the only employee that was working there on Nov.11. I came in and the place was dead just like the clock they had on the wall. He had one customer, this Hispanic boy about 7 years old with his mom, and a teenage girl who I assumed was his sister. He told me it would be about 30 minutes for it to get done, so I told him I would be back. When I returned, he was still cutting this boy's hair. I waited another 15 minutes, and when he finally finished. It took him another 5 minutes to get ready because he wanted to take pictures of his client's haircut. I asked him why there's a need for this, and he replied that he was trying to promote this barbershop. He said he was a barber student, and he wanted to take pictures of his work. Hmm... No wonder all the barbers that used to cut my hair weren't there. I didn't think much of it until the Hispanic family had to pay. He charged them the adult fee of $25. The mom was so surprised, so I said something. I don't like seeing people get taken advantage of. I told him that the sign stated that kids haircut and senior cuts are $20. Why was he bumping the price to $25? He then said the sign is incorrect. I told him that they need to change the sign because it's false advertising! He then said that he's only been there a week, and it's under newly appointed management. I said the new business is off to a rough start then! He's making up prices, and that would turn off potential customers. He then added that the haircut was normally $35 because it's special. I was like what? You're a barber student, and you're going to charge $35? What's so special about this place, and his work? It's not even fancy! No hot towel service, No frills. Plus the new place can't even get it together and replace the dead battery clock on the wall. To top it all off, he continued to text on his phone while talking to me. I decided not to get a haircut there. Not only did he wasted my time, but he also provided poor customer service. Come here at your own risk! *** Also I'm not one of those reviewers that like to write bad reviews. I want small businesses to succeed, but when there's a problem. Management needs to take note and address the issue or they won't succeed. ***

Wow I cannot believe that it's been 4 years since I last wrote a review for EMG. And I'm writing…read morethis in my new city, looking for a barber that can succeed Tony, because honestly there's nothing that can replace him. The great thing about EMG is that once you find your barber, they can become everything you'd want your barber to be - in my case, Tony didn't just offer a great haircut. In our conversations, he actually put me on a path that changed my life. I am forever grateful to the staff and crew of EMG, and from my time in Phoenix they will be one of the things I DESPERATELY miss. Oh - and with regards to my previous issues with them, once I installed the Fresha app on my phone, booking became super easy. I do still think that they would benefit from asking if you want to book your next appointment in-advance (because honestly I sometimes forget to do so and then next thing I know, a month has gone by and my hair looks like a rat's nest), but I feel like once you've found your barber at EMG, stick with them, make a relationship with them, and you'll find a barber that you'll want for the rest of your life. Thank you to EMG and this place could not be more recommended by me.

Length on haircut was so far off it looked more like a crew cut than a fade. Stupid-expensive prices. And I tipped like a fool since I was in such shock. Topping on the cake was woman barber two chairs over vaping in the shop. Would not recommend at all. Gave them a shot after three years when a barber there then nicked my ear with a razor. Never, ever again. I'd charge back if I hadn't paid cash. Did not want to leave this review but two weeks after my cut I am livid Many, many of the reviews appear stacked and faked. Not reputable.

I've been going to this barbershop for almost 2 years now and I've seen the decline of this…read morebusiness significantly. I'll keep this short: the lady cutting my hair in broken English told me "NO" when I asked for a skin fade. Mind you, I have been going here for nearly 2 years, getting the same modern mullet with a skin fade on the side. This was the first time I had my hair cut by her, and based on the vibes from the other barbers, she is a beginner. I showed her a picture of my hair from a previous cut from Hairflix themselves, and she repeated, "No, it wouldn't look good on you." She proceeded to give me a mid-fade and I just accepted that. When lining me up, she cut the side of my head (great, I'm not getting the haircut I wanted and I'm bleeding). I think this barbershop had an exodus within the past year, as the previous employees who were very talented barbers have left. All that is left are employees that barely speak English, are constantly on their phone MID HAIRCUT, and hit their vape mid cut. This is not the quality haircut from a place demanding $40 and a 35% tip on top of it. I do not recommend, I am looking for a new barber, please respond with another location you'd recommend.
