Dave and Busters is honestly such a blast! I'm an adult and can spend so much time in here! One thing I love is the half price games all summer long! It such a great deal and forces me to get there right at opening time. The rewards with the cards are beneficial if you come here frequently. Wednesday's are the most packed days because of the price of games. The food is yummy and personally enjoy their Mac and cheese. I wish they hosted a yelp elite event here! First of all, we came here on a Saturday afternoon... right when they opened (12 PM). As soon as, we walked in... right by their front door is a table with different sizes of plastic gloves (up to you if you wanna wear em). Also, there is a big bottle of hand sanitizer to sanitize your hands as well. After, my little family and I got situated with that, we purchased a card to play their arcade games. Next, we went up their escalator and we started to play their games right away. Also, there is another table right by the escalator with hand sanitizer and gloves as well... Anyways, my son was a very happy boy. I must say that DnBs does a great job of practicing social distancing with their games. For example, some games were off due to it being hard to social distance from (their VR games). Also, their arcade games that has multiples of it... for example, skee ball, claw machines, etc.. it social distanced from each other lol... for instance, with the skee balls... one was active to play and the one next to it was inactive. Major points for that. Last, when we spent all of our game credits we checked out their prize area... cool prizes and when we chose a prize... we just needed to scan our game card on our own with the worker... she just told us to scan our card on a machine. Overall, DnBs does a great job of social distancing. Their dine in tables, practice social distancing too (there's a paper that says that you can't sit in certain booths). I really don't like to write negative reviews, but having worked in customer service most of my adult life, my experience yesterday was really bothersome. Yesterday, I took my daughter to D&B's for what was supposed to be a fun day to celebrate her last day of school. Thought we'd get some lunch and then play some games. And because of COVID we've avoided dining in, so she's been wanting to eat at a restaurant. We sat at a table in the dining area on the first floor, and there were maybe 3 other tables that were occupied. Not a server in sight. When one finally came out, she bypassed our table without any acknowledgment, took another table's order, walked past us again without any acknowledgment and went to the kitchen. She came back with the other tables' drinks, still completely ignoring us. Not even a "Hi" or "I'll be right with you". If I had to guess, we were sitting at the table for about 10 minutes before we left. As we walked back to the car, my daughter's response to the lack of service was (mind you, she's 6): "they are so mean." It was definitely a teachable moment in customer service. I'm going to footnote this by saying...I realize that D&B's is geared toward adults, but that shouldn't mean employees are entitled to ignore families. I haven't been to D&B's in probably 10 years...and clearly a lot has changed since then. Maybe I was supposed to check in with a hostess before we sat...I don't know...there is no signage indicating that's the policy/process. And even if that was the case, the least the server could have done was confirmed with us that we needed to check in and informed of us of the policy. read more

I usually have a great time when ever we visit here, but this last time was not quite what we expected. The waitress was very rude, our food order was wrong, and when we told her about it she tried to tell us thats what we ordered and that she needed to charge us for the "extra" dish added on, even though what was given to us wasn't what we ordered. I don't know, but maybe it was just an off day for her? And to top it off, our food was under cooked, but at that point we didn't want to say anything to her anymore. Attended a private event here last night on the sunset roof. I really like this venue, the sunset rooftop is a nice space for a casual and fun party. The weather was chilly, perfect for the sunset. The staff were very accommodating, as we set up for the surprise. Food was scheduled to start at 6PM and just like clockwork, they didn't disappoint. They also closed down the entire rooftop for our venue, even though only a portion was reserved. The was "pupu" style, tasty and generous portions. I loved their sliders on sweet roll, the burgers were cooked to perfection and flavorful. I also liked the other options, guacamole was delicious. The only sliggt issue were cold french fries, otherwise and overall great experience. For dessert, the host was allowed to bring their own cake, which I thought was with mentioning here. I've frequented DNB several times and never seem to be disappointed. It's a great family fun type of place and even a getaway to have fun with the girls or sports night with the boys. You can't go wrong with a grown-up Chuck E. Cheese's; arcade games plus alcohol with pretty decent bar food. Wednesday nights offer even better deals! I can't forget my first visit to this D&B though. Two years ago, someone in my party tried showing their expired driver's license vice their military ID card (many states allow a driver's license extension to active duty military). The bouncer did not allow my friend inside with the expired driver's license unless they show another form of identification. How does that make sense? Expired ID or not, the date of birth is still the same on any valid ID! It's just hassle because military ID cards can be difficult to read at times. Despite that, I'm still giving D&B four stars for its cool concept, and the added bonus of being strategically located next to Ward Theatres, Buca di Beppo restaurant; a few yards from Whole Foods, Ben and Jerry's, and Nobu; and down the street from Ward Village, the new Ohana Hale Marketplace, Little Sheep, and my all time favorite restaurant, Piggy Smalls! D&B is great for games and drinks after a movie, dinner, dessert, work, or any occasion! read more

When I was a kid, there were real arcade rooms. The dark, dank, dirty, and sticky arcade rooms. The one in Kaimuki comes to mind. I don't remember the name, but it's where Happy Day is right now. Of course, there was Fun Factory, but those leaned towards kids (even though I was a kid too). Right now, Dave and Busters is like a giant size Fun Factory. It used to have a nice balance between games for adults and kids, but every time they change out their games, it's less and less for adults. There are a bunch of carnival type games and kiddie games. For the "adults," almost all of the games are the same type - shooting. It gets boring pretty quickly after playing the same few somewhat interesting games over and over. A lot of the games are so poorly maintained. The footballs and basketballs are deflated, and the machines have uneven amount of balls. Many of the card readers rarely work the first swipe. It gets annoying, especially when you're trying to play multiplayer and the card isn't read before the join in timer. But if you come here often, save your card! You'll be changed an activation fee for new cards! The best part about D&Bs is Sunday Football, and the reason is for their comfortable sports area where there are at least a dozen TVs, and 9 TVs at the bar area, so you can watch every single game. Only one game is broadcast on the sound system, but you can rent a speaker box with your ID where you can tune in on all the games. There's also a DJ who comes by to liven up the place with trivia prizes and a scratch off game for two tickets to the Super Bowl. Make sure you have breakfast first because they don't have good breakfast. It's very limited and the options are pricey and terrible. Their coffee isn't good either! What my friends do is watch the morning games here and then move to another location for the second tier games at a place with much better food options, such as Waikiki Brewing Company or Arenas. The service here is ok. Derek Carr has the best service, always friendly and attentive. Can't say the same for everyone else. D&Bs isn't the best, but the only alternative is Lucky Strike, and D&Bs is better than that place. read more

First time here. I only stopped in to get something to eat but, the bar was empty so I sat there. I'm glad I did because I received excellent customer service. It's located in the Ward/Kakaako area on the second floor where Consolidated Theater is. As you walk in, you can step right up to the counter to check your game card balance or reload. They also have automated reloading stations when you go upstairs as well. However, if you sign up for the email, they send you promotions every so often. Reload for $20 and get another $20 free. Just show them your email at this counter to redeem. On this level, you have the bathrooms (there is also another one on the roof top), private room, Larger bar area with TVs and the dining room. On the next level is where the arcade and redemption center. It also has another larger private room, bar area with some tables and booths. These tables and booths are first come first serve. The game selections are pretty good. They are pretty well maintained. Its really easy to burn $50 pretty quickly on some of these machines. With a 10 year old, I get the request to come here often. So I'd call another mom to see if they want to join. While the kids play, we get to enjoy a cocktail or two and pick on some of there food. Happy kids, happy moms. read more

Went to D&B's for lunch and they weren't busy at all on 4th of July. We were sat right away and our server, Aladdin, was friendly. I originally ordered the limited time hurricane drink because it had passion fruit in it. Our server said if I didn't like it, I could switch it out. Good thing! When the drink came, it was sooooo strong. I could smell the alcohol and couldn't taste and grenadine or passion fruit in the drink at all. Eventually our server asked if I liked it and I said it was too strong, couldn't taste anything past the liquor. He offered to switch to the Passion Fruit mojito and a manager came by and checked on us after to make sure it was food. It was so much better, and was served in a tall glass! While walking to our table at the restaurant, my son slipped on water that was on the floor and hurt his leg. The manager saw it and said nothing, No apologies. I asked the hostess to wipe up the water so no one else slips. It took me asking another waitress for it to finally get wiped up. My kid's drinks did not have a glowing cube, as advertised, no apologies there and waitress did not even mention the fact that they were out. The drink was just given to us without the glowing cubes. The drinks were terrible also and kids did not touch it. I expressed this dissatisfaction in a survey and received a very generic email from Carrie Chun, Assistant General Manager. I do like Dave & busters however when I got a drink from the upstairs bar... I had a piece of glass in my drink. If it had not stabbed the roof of my mouth I would have swallowed it. Also went to eat dinner down stairs in their restaurant and honestly I was a little disappointed the three girls in the front honestly looked like they didn't know what they were doing. The food was great and Monday's are great with people with kids because for every adult entree you get a free kids meal! We got the chicken Alfredo, the island style chicken burgers and ribs combo, golden tenders and grilled cheese for the kids, and a strawberry watermelon margarita for the wifey. Everything was good! Service was good also, our waiter was attentive. The drinks were good, especially because it was happy hour so half off cocktails! I love happy hour at any place. I really like that they have multiple flat screen TV's playing various sporting events bunched together,none of this looking around to find the game that you want to watch. Last week I took my buddy out for a meal, as it was his burfday. We really had no plans on where we were going, other than enjoying a meal together, and catching up with each other on what's going with each other's lives. Low & behold, somehow we ended up at Dave & Busters..............geez, I haven't been here in ages. I use to come here a lot back n' da day when I was still "young boi". You know - drink up, play some video games, & take in the live entertainment upstairs (don't know if they still do that). I wanna say I haven't stepped into a Dave & Buster's for over 9 or 10 years or so........ My how things have changed.........especially the food........ because I gotta say the food was pretty darn good. Either I had forgotten how good the food was, or that the menu has gotten much better..........or at least we picked the right items that night. Of course I got a liitle help, as I really didn't know what to I wanted to eat, so the friendly waitress helped & suggested the item I had. For my meal, I ended up getting the Cabo-Style Chicken, & my buddy ended up getting the Fire Grilled Salmon. What can I say about the grub...........well, when I got my meal. Right off the bat I was thinking..........geez, I hope the chicken has some flavor to it? Because back in da day when I was really heavily into my weight lifting, I use to down a lot of bland chicken breast, & flank steak...........so basically I ate the types of food to get the look, not eat to enjoy the taste of food. The chicken looked like it had no flavor, but boy was I WRONG!!!! The chicken was topped with some kind of pineapple salsa, but when I cut into the chicken breast to have a bite, the meat itself had a wonderful marinaded flavor to it. Yay for me! The pineapple salsa only enhanced the favor of the chicken! My buddy enjoyed his Salmon.......the only thing he said about it, was he had wished the serving of salmon was larger........Lol! Of course to top off a meal, you gotta get a little dessert! So my buddy ended up getting a Chocolate Brownie Sundae, and I ended up getting the Banana Foster. Of course, I did not know what to choose for a dessert, but since the friendly waitress guided me in the right direction for my meal, I thought "why not ask her again on dessert?". When the desserts were brought out.........I thought to myself, "Man, that's a lot of ice cream" on top of the Chocolate Brownie. In fact I think it was enough ice cream to feed 3 people! But my buddy gave it the good 'ol college try & downed it all! As for me..........although the Banana Foster was good, it was a little too sweet for my taste. Of course I ate all the bananas, and ate the pie area, but I left the crust as it was just too sweet for me....... Overall, I enjoyed the meal and the price was very reasonable too. Service was good..........and I must say they have a very efficient way of calling you for your seating, as they can text you on your cell phone. There is free parking, but of course you have to share with the other businesses in the same shopping/entertainment complex, so parking can be a pain on a Friday night. read more

This review is based on our experience 2pm, Tuesday July 15. So the kids are out for summer, we are about to take a trip and decide this would be a good place for them to have fun, burn some energy and enjoy some family time. We sit down to eat first in the upstairs game area. Our waitress, female, was one of our worst in restaurant experience. Sit down and she walks buy us several times, not even checking on us or taking a drink order. Others sit a good 5-7 minutes after us and she takes their order first. In the restaurant business that is a HUGE no-no, unless they ask for more time or something of the nature. So finally she comes to at least get our drink order. We order 6 waters and ask for kids menuS. She comes back with just the water and says, "need anything else?" I said, "Ahhhhh yes, we asked for kid menus." She walks away and comes back with A kids menu (we have 4 kids and that's why we asked for menuS). A couple minutes after we ordered I presented our waitress with a coupon I had for a but an entree and get a free appetizer. She goes, "ok." Loonnng pause. "So you want to order and appetizer?" (Mind you this wasn't in a customer service manner but literally a super clueless manner). OMGoodness, duh why else would I briinh it to your attention. Ok order time, I am focusing on my order. I ordered grilled chicken with nothing more than salt and pepper and steamed broccoli. I explained to her I am not having carbs, sugar, dairy or oils. She reiterated what I said and just double checked it wasn't for an allergy reason. I told her not an allergy, but dietary reasons. She said it wasn't a problem. I mean plain food, can't imagine it being a problem, WRONG! So the fams food and appetizer arrive all at the same time. My food, still waiting. About 5 minutes after they were eating, my meal comes. It has balsamic vinaigrette all over it and partially in my steamed broccoli. Great, now I have to tell this different waiter what I told the previous waitress and how I ordered it. One of the managers comes over and apologize and said they will bring a new order and I AGAIN explained my SIMPLE order. It comes out now family done eating and kids bugging to play games. The broccoli has "butter" all over it. Seriously?! I have to again call the manager over and REexplain PLAIN, I have never seen plain be so complicated!!! He comes back and says, it's dairy free like a margarine. I simply told him plain, margarine is worse anyway and has fatty oils! Goodness, just wanted PLAIN steamed broccoli!! Finish my finally ok cooked chicken. The broccoli comes. It took this for the manager to say he would comp MY meal. In seriousness, you should of done that from the get go. Now, finish my broccoli and waited 20 minutes for our check!!!! Check comes out and it's wrong. I am seriously beyond frustrated and flabbergasted at this point. Explain to the waiter and add it for him with a calculator and he brings the "famous" manager to again calculate and show the error. Finally fixed! That was a horrid experience that we will NEVER EVER eat there again...did I say NEVER?! There are many games that are out of order, eat your tokens, and are missing pieces. Time to leave and do you know our food table still has all our stuff from our meal. Lazy, especially when this entire time is was SLOW!! We had family from mainland and wanted a place to talk and kids can play. It's kinda noisy, but the staff was REALLY nice. We ordered A LOT of food!!! We did the shareable type and they we all ono. Pig in the blanket, Asian nachos, quacamole on toast, buffalo wings, cheese balls, tato tots, sliders, ribs and salad. Needless to say we had a doggie bag to take home. We asked a few times if we could add another table or switch to another table so that we weren't sitting on each other's laps, and after speaking to the manager, he moved us over to the long table near the bar area. Thank you! Because of that, they get 5 stars. Even though we had to ask them multiple times to fix the situation, the situation was finally fixed. Our server was so on top of things. She had a great personality, and got all of our orders correct. We all ordered the Eat and Play Combos so that we could get the $10 play cards for later. I ordered the Build Your Own chicken tacos and my hubby ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. We were never fans of the food at D&B, but we are now. Both were excellent and we would order them again. I guess it all depends on what you order! After lunch, we all headed to the midway. This was all new to Grandma and Grandpa, so my hubby took them over to the game where you drop the coin in an effort to push the other coins over the ledge. Ever coin that drops over the ledge gets you tickets that you can redeem for awesome prizes. Grandma and Grandpa were instantly hooked, probably because it's the closest thing that they'll get to Vegas without having to travel to Vegas. We had to keep reloading their play cards and made multiple visits to the coin dispensing machine. At the end of the day, G&G went home with a new food chopper! My original reason for eating dinner here was that it was a convenient place to meet my friend who lives nearby. I guess I would say this was an impromptu meal, just like my yelp friend Ka'imi L. mentioned about his recent visit. We met around 630 and were promptly seated (in a booth!) by the hostess who was for the most part polite and cordial. TIP: For those of you who frequent D&B's, they just got new menus! Well, even if the server didn't mention that you could tell just by the smell of them (they smelled like they were just delivered from the printing company). Since I hadn't been here in a very LONG time, I took my time looking through the new menu. I finally decided to order "my usual", the Goldfingers (chicken tenders and french fries), which thankfully hadn't been taken off the menu. Unfortunately, my friend wasn't so lucky as she decided on her order without even bothering to look at the menu. She was quite disappointed to find out they had discontinued the fish and chips as a menu item. I had to admit she was crushed as she really wanted to eat that for some reason. It took her a while to narrow down her choices, but she finally decided on the Black Jack BBQ ribs. For an appetizer we decided to share the philly steak rolls (large, crispy eggrolls stuffed with paper-thin slices of steak and cheese). FOOD: 1) Philly steak rolls: This is basically two large egg rolls cut into 2 pieces served with spicy ketchup and cheese sauce for dipping. I have to say that I was really impressed with this appetizer. It was just terrific! Yeah I know it's just steak and cheese in an eggroll, but combine that with the cheese dipping sauce and you're in heaven! I made a mental note to myself to order this on my next visit. 2) Goldfingers: Nothing special to mention, it's just basically chicken tenders and french fries served together with a Chipotle honey sauce for dipping. As a french fry lover, I was disappointed that they were quite stingy with the french fries, I think they could have put a bit more on the plate. 3) Ribs: My friend had this dish before, and it seems to be a favorite of hers as she had nothing negative to say about it. She finished nearly half before finally decided to call it quits. SERVICE: It was alright. The server was polite and cordial at best. She did come by a decent amount of times to check up on us and provided water refills. I will have to commend the server on her patience when my friend was trying to decide what to order. The server recommended other fish dishes on the menu and actually ended up coming back twice before my friend made her decision. HH: Apparently, we arrived near the tail end of happy hour, which worked to our benefit as we were able to order drinks at half price. Since we purposely didn't choose to come for happy hour, the only info I can share is that I believe it's Monday thru Friday 400-700pm. All wine, mixed drinks, and beers are half off. Unfortunately, I didn't see any happy hour menu for food nor did the server mention any food specials. Bottom Line: Good deals on happy hour drinks. New menus. Decent service and decent food. Eat. Drink. Play! Dave & Busters is a great place to pass the time when waiting for your movie. The bf and I had an hour and a half to kill before our flick so we ducked into DnB's for some grub. Overall, DnB's food is delicious. I'm sad that they discontinued some of my all time faves. The tempura mushrooms and Philly cheesesteak spring rolls were winners and now...well, it's back to chicken quesadillas. Their drinks have tempting names that lure you in for Round 2...and 3... Walk the Plank is a fun mixed cocktail of Capt Morgan, Malibu, pineaple juice, peach schnapps, OJ, and pomegranate syrup. The Perfect Margarita infuses Patron Silver and Citronge for a sure night of giggles and gab. I usually order the Atlantic Salmon with veggies- delicious flavor and cooked consistently well. But I wasn't too hungry and tried their Chicken Caesar Salad. The Parmesan crusted chicken had a nice taste and the Caesar dressing was spot on. My bf ordered the Philly cheesesteak which came on a hamburger bun, not a hoagie roll. Nevertheless, the sautéed mushrooms and onions were cooked well as came with a decorative basket of French fries. If I wasn't giving up ice cream for Lent, I would have loved to try their ultimate brownie sundae. Guess I'll just have to wait until after Easter! read more

private party... the waiter was not servicing as much as he should have. we had beverage coupons that could only be used in the private party so knowing that he should have been more attentive. The bartender on the game floor lacked customer service. the bar area was not even busy he did not greet me he pointed at me to get my order. the bar was full of empty shot glasses, after i gave my order he put my shot in a place where i could not see meaning it was not put in front of me and when he brought my change he didn't say a word. NO "thank you" nothing so i did not tip. The servers walking the floor at the game level all had on unwelcoming faces nobody offered service no one smiled like what is happening at this place?!! i get it customer service can get frustrating but that's the business your in. either do it or find another job period! read more

Who doesn't love video games and a nice cold drink? The only down fall was that this place's drinks were $12 a pop and games were 5-12 tokens. It gets real spendy, real fast... but very worth the good time! A major plus is that I didn't see one machine that was "out of order!" read more

Excited to go back here since COVID. Sadly the food was a disappointment-salad was sooo salty and chicken tenders too but they forgot sauce and brought it out 10 minutes after we asked. Our nachos didn't come out, we asked twice and canceled it since we were done with our meal. Didn't get our silverware until 15 minutes after . The only thing that was good was our margaritas but it was smaller than expected. What a disappointment. The comped out no nacho and sad salad but we left hungry so went to another place. My son had a few more credits on his card from a previous party he went to, so he coerced me to take him there, but I thought although fun for the kids, a bit expensive place to eat, drink and play games. They make you think you're getting a deal with the eat and play deal, but after buying it, I calculated, with tip and all, that it's costs about the same or little more than buying food and game credits separately, e.g. I bought two eat and $23 credit play meals, which in total cost me $66 total, which if bought separately ($8-9 for each plate and $23 worth of credit) would have cost me $65 - $66 - the same amount. The damage would have been worse if it wasn't a Wednesday since wed. is 1/2 off games: Blackened chicken pasta - 3 stars - oily, but huge servings. A bit on the spicy side that was ok, but your usual fast food tasting pasta.. Philly Cheese Steak - 3 stars - about a 6 inch oily sandwich with bell peppers, onions and mushrooms. Comes with fries. Service - 4 stars - Because it was mid-day, the service was fast and the waitress was very accommodating. A nice place with lots of parking, and a theater next to it to take your kids for entertainment while drinking and eating with friends. They also make it convenient to transfer the tickets onto the card so you can accumulate the tickets to buy a big ticket item at another time. However, I think next time I go, I won't order their meals because it was so oily or something, that it gave me such an upset stomach that could clear out any constipation within an hour. read more

This rating is mainly on the service, drinks, and ambiance of the bar area. The last time I visited Dave & Buster's was prior to their remodel. What used to be the billiard area is now replaced with bar tables. The walls are lined with flat screen TVs. The bar area is completely remodeled, with its space now looking more open and welcoming. The day that I stopped by, I sat at the bar and only ordered drinks. The TVs were tuned into the World Series and Sunday's football games. The service was decent and I would definitely return to hangout. read more
