Choice Home Warrant assigned Daugherty to diagnose and fix my water heater. Daugherty gave me a 9 hour appointment window which is their way of saying we will get there when we want to. When I complained I was told that the tech would not wait for me if I was a minute late after they arrived. I guess they don't like complainers since they cancelled my appointment by text after we hung up. After reading other reviews I am glad they cancelled. Avoid at all costs. Unfortunately I'm a Tennent and dealing with a home warranty forcing me to use this plumbing company. They have been working on my hot water heater and messing it up for weeks, replacing parts and it still not working. I've been without hot water for 4 days now. When I call for an update as to when they will be back out, I get attitude from the lady answering the phone. This company was dispatched from our Home Warranty provider: Choice. My husband submitted a claim early in the week and Daughtery Plumbing scheduled the appointment time for Friday between 3pm and 8pm. He was proactively calling the phone number provided and seeing if they could come earlier than Friday. He called twice, no answer and left a message. No call back! Then called few times on Friday to confirm if they were coming and again no pickup or call back. By this point, we figured the company would be a no show and that's exactly what happened. The same experience as another reviewer. Unbelievable, terrible service and no accountability whatsoever! Avoid this company at all costs! I live in Killeen Texas. I thought I had a problem with my Maytag Water softener system control module So I put in a claim to Choice Home Warranty. They sent out this guy from Daugherty plumbing (owner?). He tells me the control module is obsolete and tells Choice I need a whole new system knowing damn well my claim would be denied and it was. I like to see and ask questions about what all is going on with stuff being added to My home and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. I have read the many poor reviews, and I think this is a good example of a bad employee can ruin your name. I had a great experience having a brand new propane water heater installed by Bradley and Marvin today. I use First American and called in a ticket. The guys were out the next day to take a look and they agreed that it needed to be replaced. They called the insurance from the driveway and got it approved. This was on a Friday. They came out today, Tuesday, and in about 90 minutes, replaced the water heater and tray, which included installing some new copper. The guys were efficient, very easy to talk to, and explained the operation of the unit afterwards. If you get Daugherty with your insurance - ask for them by name! read more

Our home warranty called Daugherty Plumbing for a solidly backed up kitchen drain and leaking pipe. They sent Justin out who did an EXCELLENT job. He diagnosed two different problems and quickly had both fixed. I would highly recommend Daugherty again and certainly ask for Justin if available. I also should mention that Justin had to fight flood waters to get to us, and he still got to us in a very timely manner. read more

Veey poor. Sent to me by CHW and walked into my garage and asked if I had flushed ny water heater. Once I said no, Bradley said, "that's the problem". We don't do that, that's the homeowners responsibility. He didn't check to see if there was any other cause of the reset button to keep tripping. When I had researched, the problem could have been due to a faulty button, thermostat, or wires. Took the money for the service call and after I flushed it, the button tripped the next evening. Very frustrated and disappointed. Emailed them to tell them that they took my miney and was told if I would have asked nicely and told them what he told me to do had not work, they could have scheduled another appointment. read more

Daugherty Plumbing installed a water heater provided by my home warranty company, Choice Home Warranty. Despite my request for a breakdown of the $890.00 they charged, they replied to several requests with promises only. The only parts they provided not covered by the warranty were a drip pan and two pipe joints. They did remove the old water heater. I asked specifically for the costs of parts, labor and overhead and received no response. The installer, Robert, seemed to be very experienced and did the install in just 3 hours -points for him. But, the office communication sucks. I do not recommend Daugherty Plumbing. read more

Choice Home Warranty sent this company out. The tech never diagnosed the problem and hooked the washing machine back up, saying everything was good. My wife and I ran the washing machine two days later, and the laundry room flooded, causing damage to the drywall, insulation, baseboards and paint. Obviously the issue wasn't ever fixed. We called to have them come back out, the owner said they would have someone out the next day. Never heard from anyone again and they don't answer their phones, texts, or anything. Choice Home Warranty says they are not liable for the damage, so here we are with a bad drain and water damage to our home. It appears everyone has the same issue with this company. Terrible company! the kid that showed up didn't inspect it, demanded the call fee before briefly looking at it and saying "it's broke" then submitted claims for $400 worth of parts he said were broken(how did he know he didn't inspect it!) in addition to the water heater. I called the owner who was rude and too busy doing something else at his house to bother with me. Couldn't get him to give me a date and time of fix, lied and said company hadn't approved it yet the home warranty company said they'd told him 3x's they'd approved him to do the work!!! Needless to say after 3 days with no water I had to hire my own plumber! Don't ever use this company as they obviously don't have the staff or qualified, ethical staff to do the job, and most certainly are not ethical or professional! Will told them he replaced a thermocouple that clearly has not been replaced and that I wouldn't know because I was present the entire time of the service call. I would never use them again. I had a simple toilet fix in two toilets. First, the customer service person told me they could not call me 30 minutes ahead but would put me first on the schedule so I waited at home. When I called at 10:00 (since they had not arrived yet) they told me they put someone else in front of me but failed to let me know. The 2nd customer service person told me they could contact me 30 minutes before so I went to work. Got a call a couple of hours later and met the worker at my house. First toilet he basically did nothing to, and it is still turning on and off on its own. The 2nd toilet he replaced a piece but failed to tighten the bolt underneath and there was water dripping out of my toilet. Horrible customer service and repair work. read more

Don't use Daugherty Plumbing. My home warranty company called them and asked them to come out and fix the water line to my freezer that had been leaking. He simply came out, turned off the water, took my $125 and left. When I called them to ask him to actually come and replace the valve, he seemed put off, asked my repairman if he could do it and then when I said he needed to replace it, he insisted that it would be the following week. We filed a claim with our home warranty for a leaking hot water heater. I hadn't heard from them after a few hours so gave them a call. Gave them my location and he said he'd check with his tech and give me a call. He called me back a little while later and said he had someone in the area and they'd be there within 30-45 mins. I work from home, so no big deal for me. Charles came out and determined we needed a new hot water heater. He got the approval, set everything to drain in the meantime, and then went and got the new water heater. My old one wasn't on a pan so thinking we'd probably need a replacement, we went out and bought a pan just in case. He set up the pan and the drain for it. Overall just a really nice and personable guy. I'm surprised to see some of the negative reviews, but my experience was nothing but great. read more

This company was assigned to me by my warranty company and while they showed up promptly to fix my plumbing issue, the plumber's sawsall nicked my sink's line and it sprung a leak the next night. Since their work is guaranteed for 90 days I figured it would be no problem to get them back out to fix the mistake. I called and left a message on a Friday evening, and they are closed on weekends. Mind you, I can't use my sink during this time period. Monday: no call back, not answering phones. Tuesday: no call back, not answering phones. Tuesday: called on my wife's phone and suddenly they figured out how to answer! Well then they tell me I have to go back through my warranty company to reissue them. I do that. I get no call back from them to schedule an appointment. Wednesday: no call back. I call in again and finally get someone and they tell me they "might be able to have someone come out today if they have time". No call. No show. Terrible sense of customer service. Do not work with these people. I'm calling my warranty company and urging them to remove this plumbing company from their list of service providers. I'm utterly disgusted. read more

The business is horrible! They totally suck at customer service. After 2 days and at least 10 calls to a clueless office receptionist. I still didn't get to talk someone who could schedule me an appointment. These people did some plumbing work at one of my rentals last week and the stoppage returned after 2 days. My guess is that they didn't want to come back since they wouldn't be getting paid. They didn't seem to care that my tenants didn't have water for 2 days. They claimed that they didn't want to come back because I owed them 45.00. This reasoning was bogus since I told the receptionist they would be paid in full when I meet the plumber at the property. The only reason I used this company was through Choice Warranty. I would highly recommend NOT using this company unless you are in to poor customer service. I didn't want to use this company after I saw their horrible reviews, but my home warranty picked them. Spoke to them on a Friday @ 0846 and was told that they may be able to come that afternoon which would have been great because I got off work at noon. The guy said if they couldn't get by that afternoon then they would be out Sat. between 1100 and 1500 which was the scheduled appt time they made with my warranty company. They never made it Friday afternoon, which was not a problem, so I called them Sat. at 1152 to let them know that I was going to be outside doing yard work. Then the guy said they were going to try and make it out, and I said what do you mean try? We have an appointment. Right then I sensed it was going to be a problem esp. with the previous reviews of customers stating they no-called no-showed. At 1502 when they hadn't showed up, I called and of course this time got a voicemail. It's bad enough for a service provider not to fulfill his obligated appointment with a customer, but to avoid answering their call after not showing up is nothing short of cowardice and pathetic. So I had to go without hot water for a couple more days until I could get a competent and reliable plumber out; Campbell's Appliance Heating and Air in Temple, who I wanted to begin with. Not really sure how this company stays afloat with business practices like this; truly despicable and deserves a zero star rating. read more

I would leave zero stars if I could. They left damages on my property at the time after replacing the "whole water heater." Horrible customer service. I finally spoke to the owner of the company and he said he will try anything to not refund the damages his company caused. The integrity of this company is disgusting. I had to pay out of my own pocket in order to fix the damages they caused. Mind you that they didn't contact anyone about what they did, they just stated the work was complete. I am in the military and currently in a different state, so I couldn't inspect the property afterwards. I got word of the damages on the closing day of selling my property. I was then emailed photos of the damages. Before the work was even initiated, since the house was being sold, a thorough home inspection was done. No one occupied the house. It was empty. These damages were obviously caused by them (Daugherty Plumbing). I tried to voice reason and just ask for a refund of what I paid and he still refused. I will be headed back to Texas soon and will be headed straight to the small claims court. You do not care for your customers. It's obvious! I guess this is how you conduct business! I'm not a "Lone" customer either, look at your other horrible reviews. I want a refund of what I paid on the damages your company caused. Do not trust these people in your unoccupied home. They cause damages and then leave without taking responsibility. My husband called and emailed and they refuse to reimburse us for the damages. They ignored my husbands phone calls and emails for a entire day (probably because they needed to think of a reason not to pay us back) when we did get a hold of them.. someone (assuming it was the owner) hung up on both of us. If my husband wasn't in the away and in the military we would have gone up there. So in a sense it's like they took advantage of him being in the military. They lied on google reviews (for the public) to make themselves not look bad. But the truth is Will Daugherty has YET to respond to my husbands email. His lack of common sense makes him feel that what is clearly DAUGHERTY PLUMBINGS fault isn't their issue. Attached are photos of what was the after math of replacing a water heater. This company was also assigned to me by a home warranty company. I scheduled an appointment with them over a week in advance for when I returned to town. I had company coming the next day and needed my hot water heater. I called the day before twice to confirm the appointment. I got no call back. Called the emergency number the day of the appointment hours prior to the scheduled time.... Got a message they were closed thru the weekend and they would call back Monday. A lot of good that did as I had company coming that evening and the warranty company was also closed for the weekend. Fixed the problem myself for $42 verses the $125 I was gonna pay them. So plumber was no help & unreliable & doing it myself was cheaper than using home service club warranty as well!! read more

I'm very disappointed with Daugherty Plumbing that you sent to service my claim. They got there on time, a 10-year-old or so boy and an adult that seemed not to know why he was even there. As I asked questions and demonstrated the issue, only the boy answered me. He noted a few possibilities for my issue but said he really didn't know. After about five minutes another person showed up. He also wasn't sure what the issue was. First, he said it was the water pressure, which tested OK. Then he said it could be a loose pipe. Finally, he said he thought it was the cartridge in the water on and off valve. Then he said he'll go check with his office and see if they have any ideas. He collected his $45.00, after noting that he wasn't even sure how to spell Daugherty, and told me it would cost $140.00 an hour plus the cost of parts to fix it. The next thing I know, inside of a few minutes or so, I get an email from CHOICE saying it was the cartridge. I'm not pleased at all with the provided service of Daugherty Plumbing or with CHOICE's judgement, in knowing or unknowingly, providing them. Additionally, after they left, and feeling I was being very unsatisfactorily served, I looked on the internet at sites like Yelp, and found terrible reviews of Daugherty Plumbing. Some posting pictures of the mess they left, and some saying don't let them into your home, and also noting that CHOICE sent them. I will have the cartridge replaced. If that works, fine. If I still have the same issue, whether covered or not by our CHOICE home warranty, I will request an immediate refund of the $45.00 service call charge and may possibly look into alternative warranty services for CHOICE's poor choice in service providers. read more

This was my experience with this company, my home warranty company assigned them to me to fix my water heater. The plumber was supposed to be at my house from 3 to 8 according to the email I got, but they showed up earlier so I missed that appointment. Not sure who messed that up. I had to call the plumber back to make another appointment. It took several tries to reach them but finally I had a new appointment. This is day two of the process. The plumber does not really give you a window of when they will be there so you have to be on call and wait for there call and then be at your house within 30 minutes. I met the plumber and he told me what was wrong and then checked with my home warranty for approval. It took longer then usual to get the approval due to high call volume, so he said he would order the part and come back the same time tomorrow. The next day I'm waiting at home for plumber and no one shows up or calls, this is now day three of the repair, I call the plumber back again after several tries and finally get a hold of someone, who tells me they were still waiting for approval from the home warranty and that I should call them myself. "So if I didn't call them to get this info I would have wasted another day waiting for the plumber to arrive." I called my home warranty and they told me the repair was approved. I called the plumber back after several tries and let them know it was approved. She said someone would be out tomorrow but once again with no window so basically I'm on call again and have to stay within a 30 min radius of my home. I wanted to switch plumbers but that would start this process all over. Day 4 I get the call meet the plumber and the hot water is on again. Im between a 3 and 2 star rating but went with 2 because yes they fixed the water heater but the process was agonizing. Also this plumber needs to communicate better with there customers. read more
