There aren't many organic cafes (that I could find!)in Key West so I was very happy to find this one! My smoothie was wonderful (the Golden Dragon) and my husband - who is a big eater and usually does not appreciate a place like this - loved his Mexican breakfast bowl which was the special. This place offers a variety of very healthy foods which I really enjoy. Although they offer groceries, theres a very limited selection so this wouldn't be the place for generic grocery shopping. I also dined here and thought the menu offered very delicious items. I decided to settle with the pesto garden wrap. Honestly it was just okay...it felt like a bunch of vegetables were just stuffed into a wrap. As soon as I picked it up, everything fell out. The highlight was the delicious pesto sauce. My other guest ordered the paleo plate and said it tasted quite good. I tasted the kale and it was steamed perfectly and the pesto was the perfect touch. Although I'm not wild about this place, I would definitely go back. Their smoothies look heavenly! read more

I think I just found my favorite store and restaurant!!! They have a whole menu of good and yummy stuff, a lovely organic grocery store, and nice outside seating. Love the breakfast sandwich, honestly the best I've ever had! I'm from NYC and I seriously didn't expect my first lunch stop here in Key West is so nice and healthy. Stopped by here on our vacation in Key West Florida. My sister is vegetarian so this was a perfect place for her. I on the other hand am not a vegetarian. I completely fell in love with Help Your Self and it wasmost definitely my "spot" during my vacation. I feel GOOD eating here, everything on the menu is healthy and delicious (I particularly enjoy their version of a lasagna..its out of this world!) Additionally, They put emphasis on recyclying and being "green" and offer trash receptacles for different materials which I appreciate. They also offer a farmers market on certain days and while I have yet to purchase anything, the spinach lettuce looks realllllly good. My only complaint is that it often takes a while to get your food which is perfectly understandable since they prepare everything from stratch the moment you order it, but since the venue is small and unairconditioned and the seating area is outside in the hot key west sun...it's sometimes annoying. regardless, i heart help yourself, it's such a wonderful find. read more

I absolutely love this place. I stayed at Nyah next door and came here for breakfast & coffee everyday. Their breakfast bagel and avocado toast are amazing and fresh. I also had their green warrior smoothie and overnight oatmeal with fruit from the fridge. That was also super yummy and healthy. This place has really nice outdoor seating as well. The only Ocean Friendly Restaurant certified by Surfrider in Key West. We found you on the Surfrider OFR app and were so excited to visit. The kitchen was closed (past 4pm) so I grabbed a pre-made Asian Tuna sandwich and shared it with my boyfriend on the patio. It was delicious. Wow this place has so many delicious (and actually healthy) options. As a plant-based vegan, I was so thrilled to find this place. Everything was so fresh. We went here three times during our stay, and each smoothie, veggie bowl, sandwich and latte was perfect. They even have a little shop with lots of good drinks and snacks. Date & Thyme catered for my wedding. Brielle was very kind and helpful. The wraps we ordered were delicious. The hummus wraps are a must if you intend to visit here. They were demolished at the wedding! There is more to this place though than the wonderful food. They were willing to help us out of a bit of a problem we faced. The bakery where our cake was being made closed considerably earlier than the wedding was to take place. Date & Thyme stored our cake for several hours and kept it safe until it was time to pick up the food! They were also very kind to my groom when he came in to pick up the catering. After riding by on my ever faithful bicycle, 'Violet' (lavendar bike with streamers and an orange basket...:), a number of times while exploring our new home, Key West, my husband, and ever willing dining companion, and I, tried Help Your Self Organic foods. We initially stopped today because a friend reminded us that the fresh market was only there on Mondays...so...after the gym workout we headed over. I am amazed at the eclectic quality of life here on our Island....Here, on a sweet little corner, local performers were playing their guitars softly. Friendly (and yes, friendly...Im not sure what the last reviewer meant when she stated the staff was unfriendly..) staff, (I was warmly welcomed) and just a relaxed ambience. Im JUST tossing my hat into the ring as far as starting to change my diet from 'typical' yet somewhat healthy to EXTREMELY healthy for body AND soul. This was a good beginning...:) I did purchase some lovely organic leafy green veggies and we decided to stay for lunch. We both shared a hummus wrap that was out of this (cosmic) world delicious and have not been hungry ALL DAY since enjoying that meal. I also enjoyed a small bottle of what was labeled 'Daily Detox'. It is a combination of beet, carrot, and lemon juice. This review is for the coffee. The other food in this cafe may be good as per other reviewers. We chose this place because of the image on yelp that would suggest they know how to make a decent coffee. We paid $12 for a latte and a cappuccino - more than you would pay at the best cafe in any major city. That price is fine if the coffee is actually good, unfortunately we could have had better coffee at a gas station - that's how bad it was. They used pre-ground, stale coffee - any decent cafe grinds the beans fresh for each cup. The coffee was over extracted. The milk was burnt and poorly poured. If you're going to sell espresso based coffee, at least learn how to make it, and train your staff! read more

What prevents me from choosing Date & Thyme is the cashiers. They have no situational awareness regarding getting paying customers in/out (and it is a tight squeeze if busy), but will small talk about jack sh*t instead of ringing up customers and moving the line. The food is very good from the kitchen though, but sometimes is not worth waiting for the cashier to wrap up their boring conversations with the person at the head of the line... Walked over a mile from our hotel because I saw on their menu that they had açaí bowls and I was craving one. It was 12 dollars which is pretty pricey but definitely WOULD had been worth it if it was any good. It was the worst açaí bowl I've ever had. Super cute and just what Key West needs. It's a great market with organic, vegan, gluten free, etc options that you can grab and go. It also has a cafe to get breakfast or lunch. The prices are a little over the top for how much food you get, but it's the same pretty much no matter where you eat on the island. The food is delicious, healthy, and quick. Totally loved this place! Great find that has plenty of vegan options. Also super allergy friendly. I'm gluten/soy intolerant and also we are vegan. I had a salad with roasted veggies and a tahini sauce. Hubby had a tempeh wrap. Both of us really loved our food -- suppppper filling. Word to the wise they have HUGE portions! :) Also definitely try the fresh juices, ours had a bit of jalapeno and some greens and cilantro and lemon in it -- it was so tasty!!
