Well, a week later I have my laptop back and I'm in business!

DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5 STAR REVIEWS. PC SERVICE DALLAS IS A FRAUDULENT BUSINESS AND A SCAM. DO NOT…read moreBELIEVE WHEN THEY SAY "NOT IN OUR CUSTOMER LIST" LOOK AT MY PHOTO FOR PROOF!! I chose PC service Dallas to have the keyboard replaced on my MacBook Pro, because the keys were sticky and making strange sounds due to a small spill on the keyboard (other than the feel and sound, the keyboard and every other part of the machine was performing normally.) Sam told me they would install a "Grade A,"brand new keyboard in this machine. Sam failed to inform me that this keyboard would be taken from another MacBook Pro that they had in their shop, which is a used machine and therefore it is not grade A condition. When I initially arrived to drop off my computer to have the keyboard replacement done, Sam attempted to convince me to also have them replace the battery, and proceeded to show me the battery cycle count, which read at over 1100. I said that I did not want to replace the battery, as even though the cycle count was high, it has been working normally. I paid $320 and signed the paperwork for the keyboard replacement in the morning. (Note: I have now learned you should never pay upfront for a computer service that has not yet been completed.) Sam said the computer would be ready later that same day. Just before 3PM that day, Sam called me and AGAIN, attempted to convince me to pay $200 to have them perform a battery replacement, saying that he had just received a new package of batteries for MacBook pros and I once again declined the service. Then, after initially stating the computer would be ready by the time the shop closes at 7 PM, Sam called me back at 3PM and said that there were "a few keys that still need to be installed." This statement in and of itself doesn't align with service requested, a brand new keyboard replacement, because new MacBook Pro keyboards come as one unit. Sam told me to come back and pick it up on the following day, Sunday, even though their google profile states PC Service Dallas is closed on Sundays. I questioned them about this, and Sam said the shop would be open regardless. I arrived to the shop on Sunday morning and initially, the computer seems perfectly normal, and so dID the keyboard. so I take it home and use it the following day on Monday for work only to find that my space bar was not working properly and all of a sudden my computer started to say " Service recommended new battery" which at first I thought was just a coincidence, I called Sam back that same Monday and he would replace my keyboard again, I trusted him yet again. I went in the following Saturday to have the keyboard replaced and I picked it up that same day at around 7 PM. I asked for my computer and after waiting 10 minutes I started to question where my computer was they brought it out attached to my charger and I questioned why they needed to recharge my computer in order to turn it on, because I had specifically left it at 100% when I dropped it off that morning and Sam said that they needed to turn it on even though all they had to do was a keyboard replacement which does not require any battery power. He plugged it to charge my computer, after taking more than 5 minutes it finally turned on and I noticed that it would not charge more than 1%, I took it home and it would no longer connect to my wifi or connect to any of the ports. I had my computer professionally inspected to find out Sam had completed changed by mother board, battery, and several other parts to scam me and reuse them for other jobs. SAVE YOURSELF THE SCAM AND DO NOT GO HERE!!

I brought my computer in to SewellTech because I had some minor liquid damage to my MacBook and…read morewasn't willing to pay the absurd price Apple quoted me at. The only issue the computer had at the time was that it wouldn't charge properly and they quoted me at $368 to replace the board and the battery. When i got the computer back I was told by Luis (my technician) that everything was tested and to be in perfect working order, however, after getting my computer back i noticed immediately that the MagSafe port would get scaldingly hot. The surface of the computer would also get extremely hot and my MacBook charger was also starting to turn yellow and fray despite being just 2 months old. I knew that something was wrong and therefore brought it back for repairs once again. After about a week they told me that they had once again replaced the board, the battery, the charging port, and also added that since they didn't have my exact Logic Board in stock they upgraded it with a better processor "free of charge". I was immediately skeptical of someone upgrading my computer for free, and of course when i got my computer back, it was now having NEW issues with the battery. The battery indicator on my computer was displaying absurdly long amount times to charge (8.5 hours to full charge), it would die unexpectedly while at 6% battery life, and had a whole host of other issues. Instead of going back to SewellTech i took it to the Apple Store where they ran diagnostics and found that the battery had issues and needed to be replaced. I emailed David a copy of the failed battery diagnostics and was furious at him for lying to me and demanded that he refund me the cost of battery replacement. He asked me to bring in the computer so he could personally look at it himself, which I begrudgingly agreed to do. After looking at it for a few days he said he ran diagnostics and that the battery was perfectly fine and that my charger was most likely the issue. He also told me that Apple computers tend to be inexact and that the battery indicator can be off by several percent and that nothing i mentioned was unusual. Both his answers here are complete bullshit, and at this point I knew David was just trying to con me. My charger was only a few months old, had been inspected by Apple less than a week ago, and was confirmed to be perfectly fine by an Apple Store technician. I've also had multiple MacBooks and iMac's for almost 15 years and have never seen any MacBook have the type of battery issues that it currently has after David and his "technicians" performed "repairs". To be 100% certain I also called Apple afterwards and spoke to an Apple Technician who told me that the battery issues I was having are not normal and that David's explanation was 100% nonsense. To sum things up, going to SewellTech has been an absolute nightmare. David and his staff are grossly incompetent at performing repairs and they make up lies to cover up their shoddy work, hoping that people will be ignorant and naive enough to believe them. I also found out that despite being an Apple Authorized Servicer, when they replace parts on your computer they do not use original Apple Parts but instead use third party parts - which are often cheap and unreliable. This explained why my board was upgraded "free of charge" and why the battery was also failing Apple Diagnostics - because they weren't new and they weren't even Apple parts. Look folks, I really don't care where you go to get your computer fixed but please don't go here - David is a grade A con-artist and makes a living by defrauding his customers. David is also a complete asshole and a repugnant human being. My MacBook is now filled with cheap refurbished third-party parts, has a myriad of issues, and will have to be taken back to Apple for more repairs. I'm in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB and will be taking David to court for all losses. I'm sure David will reply to this post with some half-assed nonsense and falsehoods but don't believe any of it! This place shouldn't be called SewellTech, it should be called FooledYouTech
