So I thought this place was going to get a good review...until I left the salon. The salon inside looks nice. Cleaner compared to other nail salons in the area. The utensils could've been cleaner. I had to wait at least 15 min but I've had worse. I did the gel-x tips in almond shape. The lady doing my nails was nice and she was quick. I gave her a good tip because I thought my nails looked good. The minute I walked outside I noticed I had dried up glue all over hanging off the bottom of my nails. I wanted to try this salon so I did pedicure with spa and I got charged $95 - she did not do anything but massage my feet with lotion and apply the color. In all of the other places I've been to, they wash and soak in water, they do scrub your feet and polish your nails etc., in here they didn't do a thing for $95 ??? That's insane. They work very hard to try to meet your needs as best as possible. I've been coming here for almost a decade and they are very sweet. Let me start by saying, the women that work here were VERY sweet to me. The price is ridiculous for what they offer. I got a gel mani and regular pedicure and it came Out to 70... that's ridiculous. Not to mention it took my girl 2 full hours to do a manicure and pedicure... 2 hours!? Not only did it take a ridiculous amount of time, I got a parking ticket because my meter ran out because of the ridiculous length of time. Even the woman at the desk said "wow you're finally done." If you have 7 months to wait and sit there for a mani/ pedi then you might like it here. I also never went there before and didn't realize the 30% deal and was not offered it which I think is a little shady. I really had no intention on writing a review but my nails started cracking off 4 days after I got it done! Here goes....... I was recommended to this place by a friend. She warned me it was a little expensive but worth it. She recommended Gina. I had a wedding to attend so I figured I treat myself. Totally excited, I made an appointment to get a full set and a pedicure. When I got there they were extremely friendly. I sat in the pedicure chair right away but no one attended me for 20 min. Which I didn't have a problem with. I gave myself plenty of time. Finally, a nice lady (idk her name) attended me & the pedicure was amazing. Half way thru the pedicure Gina steps in. She did polish & off we go to do my full set. I'm now running late. Still, I decided to go thru with the full set. I've had my nails done plenty of times and quickly realized she wasn't that skilled. Giving her the benefit of the doubt I didn't say a word. Until I realized my nails were all different shapes and sizes. I spoke up and told her they look unfinished and she said she would fix it that I shouldnt worry. End results they were still crooked. What made it worse was It took her 2 hours. Frustrated & late for this event, I told her I needed to go. I checked out and my bill was $150!!!! Appalled, I said how?? My nails alone was 100$. & pedicure was 45$ ( which I was cool with cuz that was worth ever penny!) You would think I had crazy designs done on my nails. Nope, I just had reg gel polish. I had such a great experience here! Would definitely come again-- very clean and extra safe for covid times! They give everyone hand sanitizer when you walk in and take your temperature. Each seat was separated with plastic and manicure stations have a plastic cover in between the manicurist and customer. The staff was so nice and attentive and it made for the perfect relaxing environment I needed in these anxious times. Also smells so good like flowers! read more

I went in for a gel mani and pedi on a Monday because I saw the 30% off new customers and cause I had my baby shower that Saturday. After all said and done I was charged $70. I didn't think anything of it til I got home and realized that they never gave me the 30% off which pissed me off. Come Saturday, all my nail polish started to rise and peel. By Monday all the polish had fallen off. I'm so mad and upset that I paid $70 for something that should last me three weeks not 5 days. Ill never go back there. Very disappointed. I came here on friday to get my nails done. By Saturday I have lost two nails since the acrylics were not out on properly and wouldn't hold on. I go back on Sunday to get them fixed and they did but with attitude. By today (Monday) I again, lost one nail. I believe the material they use is too low to be able to hold onto the nail bed because I have been getting my nails done for years and I never ever had this happen. I used to be a loyal customer, I would always come here and love it when Jina did my nails but she only works on Fridays and some other days so that was a bummer. All the other employees are actual arrogant people, I went in for an appointment and waited patiently but when a white lady came in and it was someone they knew, the workers would sit the lady right away when I literally waited for 20 min and had an appointment. What the hell, why didn't get seated first. They didn't even say anything, they were just rude and told me to wait for another 20 min until I had enough and left to the other great nail salons around the area. This is probably the cleanest, nicest nail place I've ever gone to. I've had numerous different people do my nails and toes, and they all did a great job. Also, they have an LED manicure which lasts about 3 weeks, and doesn't have UV light like usual gel manicures have. The pedicures are great there too, they always last me a long time. I usually do my manicure by myself, but was feeling lazy and frivolous. I've always heard about dashing diva, so I gave it a try. I went in, quickly greeted. Originally I wanted just clear, but the manicurist insisted so she helped me pick a natural color. Sit down, she opens a package of supplies, and gets to work. She starts small talk and then tells me I have "nurse hands" which honestly I don't think she meant it in a good way. But I wasn't insulted because I know my hands were not in the best shape hence - the trip to the salon. The manicure was quick, she scrubbed my hand, gave a little massage, and included some aromatherapy scent - opted for lavender. The whole manicure + dying time took 30 minutes. The cost for a basic manicure was $15, which is almost double my usual nail place. Now, this place is quick and most importantly, sanitary. My manicure is still looking good status post 1 shift at work and 2 casual days. I usually bring my own supplies, but this was worth it bc I didn't have my supplies at hand at the moment and didn't want to contract any mysterious diseases lurking. read more

Came with a gf for the first time. Picked out a color for gel manicure. As they do, after the first finger was shown, I approved and they proceeded. Not until after all my nails were done did we notice that the polish didn't quite cover my white nail tips. It looked terrible. The owner kept says my it was bc the color was too sheer. So I wanted to change color. The owner was pretty rude about it and kept complaining about the additional work they'd have to do to remove and redo. Too bad bc I'm not paying 35 for a gel mani and not be 100% satisfied. Of course it wasn't until the end when the owner was being extra nice. Too late. Won't go back. Gave it 2 stars instead of one bc of the second nail tech that redid my nail. She was super nice and very knowledgeable. She said that if it were her, knowing that those kinds of polish tend to spread when applied, she would've flashed my fingers under the heat individually so it would set the polish. And then proceed. She offered to do my nails in the original color I wanted but I said it's ok and that I don't want to get in trouble AGAIN by the owner. Wish I got her name so I can recommend to yelpers. The place is clean and they do a decent job. The services are overpriced even for Great Neck. I have been coming here on and off for a couple of years, and honestly while the staff is generally pleasant, I find the manager to be not particularly client-centered. I frequently get a back message while my nails dry (I get migraines and the massage is like half the reason I get my nails done), I had stopped coming here because all too often when I would request a back massage, they would say they didn't have time because "other people are waiting." Today I decided I would ask ahead of time prior to getting my nails done so that I would know upfront if the option existed, OR if I should just go somewhere else. The manager said "yes" when I requested said 10 minute back massage, but as the nail person attempted to initiate said massage, the manager stated that there was "no time." Honestly, I have never had another nail place refuse a paying customer this sort of common request that is offered by nail places everywhere. I won't be coming back. It's just a rude lack of courtesy, and for these ridiculous prices, courtesy is really the least they could offer. read more

The treatment I got was the "Spoiled Diva" pedicure, and I must say I was spoiled for all the other 20 nail salons in the center of Great Neck. The price was a few extra dollars, but the experience was worth it. Well decorated, cheerful (you have to like pink), and super clean. I'm new to the area and wanted to get my tired acrylics off and knew I needed a good even if more pricey place to do this since I knew my real nails would be a wreck after removing the acrylics. The place is very clean (and pink!)! The ladies all were super friendly and I never heard a lick of any other language but English. I got 2 great shoulder and back rubs too which are complimentary. I ended up going with a soak off gel which is diff than a shellac as it's a gel that cures into a beautiful natural looking nail whereas shellac type products are more of a polish. I would recommend the soak off gel for anyone who is tired of the acrylic look, it's so dated. The only draw back is the price. I paid $100 plus a $20 tip. She said fills are about $50 but my real nails will grow out fully protected and then I can switch to a shellac. My boyfriend loves my new nails and I imagine he will gladly help me maintain the look! read more

I have been a regular client here since they opened. Recently, there has been a decline in service. Today, I had an appointment for a mani/pedi at 1:30. The owner, Connie who knows me, had me wait "five minutes" which turned into a half hour. This was after she served people who walked in after me and had later appointments. The woman who was doing my nails, had a terrible cold. She was coughing, sweaty and had a runny nose. She spent most of my pedicure coughing on me after she told me to roll up my pants. Last I checked, it is not sanitary to be coughed on. My manicure was a disaster, there were bumps and bubbles. When I complained to Connie on my way out, she laughed. She said the woman wasn't sick, she had allergies. I said being coughed on repeatedly is not what I pay $50 for. When I said it wasn't right to make an appointment then have me wait over a half hour compiled with the horrible mani/pedi she continued to giggle. This is not the service I once got here. Given how many nail salons are in Great Neck, you would think Dashing Diva would treat its clients with respect. This will no longer be my go to nail salon.
