Let's be real there are A LOT of nail salons in Great Neck and I have tried several w different results... the ONLY one I love is Brilliant Nails on Great Neck Road. Anna is my favorite nail tech who I see regularly but Summer and many others there are all excellent! I go regularly for powder gel manicures and regular pedicures and their pricing is good. In the past I used to have a lot of issues with gel and powder gel not lasting the 2 weeks and with Brilliant this has never happened. Andy the owner and his wife are always super friendly and inviting and it's my one chance to relax in an otherwise hectic week. I got powder nails again and $43 with cash only which isn't bad. The lady doing my nails this time wasn't as gentle and cut my cuticle and it started bleeding. She said sorry. Her back massage was really rough. I did see clipped nails on the mat my towel was on which is gross. The tools used were out of a clean package. I've been to so many nail salons, but very few compare to this one. I typically go for powder dip nails. Linda is an amazing technician who always shapes and colors my nails perfectly. Summer is also fantastic. I often request complicated designs (dreidels, snowflakes, etc.) and I'm always impressed at how skillfully they paint them by hand. I've come to this nail salon a number of times and there is always a problem. The girls are talented and they do excellent work, however the management is awful and the prices are super expensive. They often don't book correctly and you are left waiting a long time. The manager Andy is extremely rude and temperamental. Just today I spent 4 hours waiting for my nail technician because management made a booking error (which they blamed me for) and I wasn't even offered a courtesy discount. Anyways, after the 15th time giving them a chance, I will no longer be coming back here. There are cheaper and better places around the area. read more

Linda did my gel powder i choose number 5 similar to essie fij/ the place was clean organized friendly and took their time! a lot of pride went into the care they gave my hands and toes! i usually bring my own nail polish for a pedicure because that is always a regular polish anyway! i dont recall the special pedicure i receive but it had 20 minute massage on legs. i like that they put a plastic liner inside the pedicure tub. i suggest you make an appointment because that way time is reserved for you. i came in on a thursday afternoon found parking on the street and put some coins in the meter it has been a solid 3 weeks since i got my nails done so here is my update... my nails have just grown out hasnt chipped or discolored! i am so happy my friend turned me onto this place!! keep in mind when i do wash dishes i do wear gloves that may affect why my nails have lasted as long as they do but i do constant hand washing and hand sanitizer at work at work so that it is getting exposure there too. i will be returning! read more

And they constantly talk in their language and very obvious and apparent that they are talking about you. My manicure and gel pedicure were done by YOYO who not only ruined my perfectly straight square nails by filing them at an angle but also cut my cuticles while dry and made me bled. I called on Tuesday and made an appt with Summer for a powder manicure at 12 and a spa pedicure with Ruby at 1. I got there at 11:50. I've been coming here for 2 years. They do a great job and they are very clean. The reason for the 3 stars is that the manager although they accept credit card always makes a huge deal when you try to use your card. I understand the tipping on the card is difficult but come on most of us don't carry around a lot of cash. 2nd is the up-charges aren't made apparent until after the services are rendered. If a specific polish costs more the customer should be aware prior. I went in for a gel pedicure and asked how much and she said not much more. It turns out the use of the gel polish costs an additional $22... that's almost the same price of a full gel manicure (which is $27). If you decide to go get the basics, be clear about the price before hand, and bring cash. read more

I can usually tolerate a 'bad' nail job such as filed crooked, hand and feet color don't match, chipped nails even breaking or 'peeling' off sooner than usual. However I CANNOT tolerate rudeness and inconsiderate people. I frequented this nail salon back in 2012 thru 2016 when it was under the old mgmt of Jason , jenny and christine. But in 2016 new mgmt took over... a woman name Helen and I think the male is her husband(not sure tho) in the beginning they were FAKE nice to me because i was an inherited customer of the old mgmt regime. The FAKE nice change to outright disrespect and rudeness toward me and also other clients. One time in 2017 , Helen came up to me and said I under-tipped my technician. I was in utter shock. in the 25+ years i have been doing my nails no nail mgmt has ever said that to me. Even though reluctant and made to feel embarrassed / shamed i started tipping in bigger amounts. Soon after , helen said it was their new policy that tips be given in cash and not thru debit card. I was like ...OKKK fine so now i had to make sure i had cash on me (wtf , it's 2018, who carries cash!!??). now they want you / demand you to pay cash. Clearly they are not wanting to report their correct earnings to state/ federal IRS tax authorities, basic principle of tax evasion. SHAME ON HELEN AND HER ENTIRE ESTABLISHMENT. SHE WANTS TO BE IN THE POSH AREA OF GREAT NECK BUT DOESNT WANT TO PAY TAXES ON RECORDED EARNINGS. I will never go back there, EVER. they wont last long in that area. read more
