Needless to say, Dr. Trager calmed down my keloid scars with his skill and precision, gave me the treatment plan I needed to bring down my acne, and in the past few months has transformed my aggressive acne scars with affordable and innovative laser resurfacing treatments (within my budget and customized for my skin type!). The facility is clean and well kept. The receptionist was extremely friendly and answered questions that I had. Then, I was taken into the back with Olga and she asked me a lot of questions and examined my under arms before she used the laser to ensure to put the laser on the correct setting for me. She was extremely knowledgeable. The laser barely hurt. I was very happy with the experience and have gone back a few times and the hair is almost already gone. Just a few days ago I went to the spa for a facial with Olga and once again I was not disappointed. They had a great variation of specials and deals in November so I got buy one get a facial 50% off. My first encounter with this woman was when booking an appointment. She has what sounds like an Eastern European accent, and I evidently misheard the appointment time, entering it into my calendar an hour later than scheduled. Having driven all the way from East Hampton, I arrived only to be rudely informed that I was late. There was no attempt to accommodate me, nor was I even offered the opportunity to rebook. When I eventually returned for an appointment and mentioned this to the doctor, she told me I could simply have waited to be seen that day. Unfortunately, that option was never offered to me by this staff member. On arrival of my appointment, despite having been instructed to verify that the doctor was in-network before I booked, which I duly did, I arrived for my appointment only to be told that the office needed to call my insurance to confirm coverage. Apparently, she didn't have time to do so, meaning I would have to pay out of pocket. I purchased $220 worth of skincare products from the practice, which caused a bad skin reaction after just two days of use. The doctor herself authorised a full refund, yet I have only received $110. This woman now insists I only requested a refund for one product, which is simply untrue. Rather than acknowledge that she may have misunderstood or failed to listen, she chose to argue with me instead of apologising and correcting the mistake. She has also accused me of not paying a copay, despite my having done so. I have now called multiple times trying to resolve this. She repeatedly talks over me, hang ups, or leaves me on hold then hangs up on several occasions. It seems impossible to have a reasonable conversation, let alone resolve a straightforward matter. Having since looked at the Google reviews, I can see that other patients have reported similar experiences with the front desk. Clearly, my frustrations are not unique, which makes it all the more disappointing that these concerns appear to remain unaddressed. At this point, I am writing this review purely in the hope of finally receiving a call back from the doctor. I specifically asked this woman to arrange for the doctor to contact me directly, yet astonishingly, she didn't even bother to take my telephone number. (hung up upon that request). It's extraordinary that a patient should have to resort to a public review simply to obtain the remainder of a refund already authorised by the doctor. What should have been a simple resolution has become an unnecessarily unpleasant and time-consuming ordeal. The doctor herself is good, which makes this all the more disappointing. However, a medical practice is only as good as the experience it provides its patients, and this particular staff member is doing the doctor's reputation a tremendous disservice. Patients deserve basic courtesy, professionalism and respect, not to be argued with, dismissed or hung up on when raising legitimate concerns.
