Place is disgustingly dirty. Work utensils don't even look sterile and clean. Chairs shake aren't stable. Went in & said I just need my gel nail polish off of my feet and hands. That's it. And got charged $50 Refused to refund or discount. I kept asking why was I charged so much I thought it was 15 to take off the gel without any color changes or anything else. Ridiculous. Never again. And to top it off the tech kept asking for a bigger tip when I'm asking why I was charged so much. read more

I'm so upset with my experience here. I stopped in Tuesday morning for a powder mani $40 and regular pedicure $14. The manicurist was nice, despite the cold vibes I got from everyone else who worked there. Firstly, powder gel manicure is done without UV lights, but the manicurist insisted that they have to use lights in order to work (even though their poster in the salon says no lights needed and I've gotten powder gel manicure at least 2 dozen times before. My finger tops were burning. After 3 days, my entire powder gel chipped on every nail. I couldn't even get it fixed because I'm on vacation. It's safe to say I won't be back. UPDATE: A day after I wrote this review, all of my nail polis were chipped on each of the nails, so I felt like it was only fair for them to fix it. They were not friendly or apologetic, but they fixed them all. The only issue is they did a sloppy job and layered it over my old polish, so now it's bumpy with 5 layers. I guess it's better than having them chipped for the next two weeks. read more

Made same day appointments on a holiday weekend. Nail sense was very accommodating and professional. All the safety measures were followed. As soon as we stepped in, our temp were taken at the door and were directed to the hand washing station. We were immediately given a book for nail color selection. Each seat was wiped down after used. All employees wore masks and plexi glass set up in each station. My powder gel was nicely done by the owner Young. She's not only down to earth but has a great sense of humor. Korean was mostly spoken in the nail salon. Woulda feel a bit more comfortable if they've spoken English more amongst each other , nonetheless, the owner and the ladies are friendly and professional. Would def return again. read more

This salon is doing everything to make sure it follows regulations. I felt very comfortable. Appointments MUsT be made in advance by phone. They check temp when you walk in. Policy to wash hands before picking nail polish is strictly followed. Client also signs a paper giving salon info such as name and telephone and temp you have when you are checked. I like that they are keeping track of clients, that way if ever exposure in there they can let you know. Each seat has the plexus glass to the front and the side. Employees all wear masks and face shields and keep them on! I've been here twice since they re-opened for a regular manicure and pedicure and I've only been in with 2 other clients so they seem to be spacing out the appointments very nicely. read more

I hate giving bad reviews as I know the hardships of running a business. That being said, multiple things upset me about this place. It looked nice enough and I really wanted to like this place as I need a good spot near me so I can become a regular. 1. They gave me an inexperienced manicurist who didn't even know how to give them a shape and made excuses that my nails are too short and the shape can only be given on fake nails. After I had to shape my own nails, another lady came and took her place on my hands. 2. The new lady rushed through my manicure, didn't even properly push back my cuticles and gave me uneven coats of polish. Then they rushed me out of the chair as soon as this lady saw a familiar client of hers. 3. I had to then request the pedicurist to fix my manicure and she kept making excuses saying the polish was too thick or that my cuticles were not right. 4. When I got home, I noticed the same issue with my feet of uneven coats and my feet were still very rough. Why I paid $40 ($28 for mani pedi, $12 tip I gave in advance) for something I could have done at home for $5 beats me! read more

The worker then gave her a disgusted look and was like "just $5," which then pressured my friend into giving her more. How disgusting of an establishment is this. It's called a tip for a reason. Thanks to this salon I had one of the most disappointing nail experiences. I came here prior to my cousin's wedding to try powder gel for the first time. I picked a soft pink color and by the time the more advanced coats were being applied, I realized this looked more like a bright bubble gum color rather than a blush or soft pink color. I asked the manicurist to show me the nail color palette to compare the color I chose to the actual color being applied. I pointed the difference out to her but it was as if I wasn't speaking her language (no pun intended). I made my point with the help of some of her coworkers, however she insisted to keep on going, and said I could come back if I don't like it. By the time the final layer was about to be applied, for some reason, my right thumb nail would just not dry. It was as if the chemistry intended to dry the nail wasn't working or something. Again, more help from the coworkers and after about 3 to 4 applications and reapplications (30-40 minutes), my nail dried as intended. I returned the next day because I already had one of the nails peeling and also to change the polish to a more preferred color. I appreciate that they were able to accommodate me at no charge so I could get my color of choice although I paid tip again. Within a matter of 2 days, even before the wedding a new nail chipped!! I have no idea what is wrong with their polish, or their application, but I signed Nail Sense off for good after two negative experiences, and a waste of time. I was here again the other day and thought it might be helpful to tell people about the parking lot. The spots in the lot along Hillside Avenue can fill up quickly but Nail Sense has its own parking lot; to get to it from Hillside, pass the Dunkin Donuts entrance and follow the arrow immediately after you pull in their lot (it looks like you're driving onto a sidewalk) to go behind the salon. To follow up on Nail Sense's pedicures, I'm still happy! Pedicures are $17 + tip, they have a good selection of colors, and the salon is clean. There are always a lot of people in this salon but you don't need an appointment. I haven't gotten a manicure here yet but from what I can see, they do a good job. And while your nails are drying, the owner (?) gives you a neck massage too. read more

I had a horrible experience here today. I went in to get a regular manicure and the guy there was extremely rude. He was so aggressive and rude and was pulling my arm so aggressively. I've never had such a bad experience at a nail salon. Because I had gel over my nails he was ripping my hand and cutting me aggressively. He painted my nails and the color was so sheer so I asked for a different nail polish color and he was spilling things all over my nails. I would not recommend this place whatsoever. Do not go here. This nail salon has become terrible since taken over by new ownership. I called for a soak off acrylic (which is all I could afford) and they told me it was 9 dollars. The nail technician did not keep the shape or length I wanted even though I mentioned it twice. She harshly filed my nails leaving scratches and leftover acrylic on my nails to which I felt too shy to say anything. She asked me repeatedly why I didn't just get a manicure and I said this was all I could afford at the time. When she finished I asked her if it was possible if she could just clip a few of the cuticles that had been ripped during the process and she told me I had to pay for a manicure for that. Then she told me the soak off was $10, not $9. I think the nail techs name was Joanne, she had a short bob haircut and was tall and skinny. Usually I never am one to promote such negativity, but I have an interview tomorrow and now my nails look terrible. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I have been getting my nails done at this salon for many years. Now it's new owners and I still wanted to give them a shot but I had a bad experience last week. I was rushed for my mani and pedi and I got there at 6:35. They close at 7:30 pm They were done in 20 minutes. My time to relax and be pampered was rush and done uncomfortable. My nails were cut but not filed smoothly. They're so ragged and my own nail feels uncomfortable on my fingers. My gel polish was applied thick and not smoothed out with the nail polish applicator brush. It was just plopped on. My cuticles were covered in the blue polish and the sides of my nails were left bare. There's no attention to detail or thoroughnIt was done in such a rush that I wonder if the quality of work would have been better if I had an appointment instead? Either way, I don't recommend. I went there with my friend for a gel manicure. They had me soak off my nails for almost a full hour. While the owner started doing my friends nails, she did two coasts of the dip and told her they needed to dry.... and made her wait an additional 30 + minutes with red dip all over her fingers while she did multiple other costumers manicures. I've been doing dip gel for over 3 years now and I never heard that before. If she was too busy to start her manicure she shouldn't have. Her skin was stained right red for hours due to letting the power reuse sit in her fingers for that long. The lady that did my nails didn't do enough coats, because after 3 days my nails cracked and then after a full 6 days they all either chipped or cracked. The only thing good about that place is that they don't use that god awful file machine on nails. But $35 for a dip gel manicure to chip after 3 days... that's ridiculous. Nail Sense literally has 2 competing nail salons across the street and three stores down. I'm surprised that they can all be successful & which is the best one. Regardless, Nail Sense has incredibly nice staff, a wide array of Essie colors, and comfy chairs! Mani & pedi was $25 (wish they had a weekday special...o well). Lisa did a wonderful job on my nails, was really meticulous, and super friendly. I felt a lot more welcomed compared to when I went to Fine Nails. I am a nail biter and after 29 years I'm not sure I'll ever stop being a nailbiter. But I came in to get the acrylic nails for my friends wedding because I wanted my nails look nice. And sunny did a great job getting me ready. She was very nice and sweet to talk with considering getting your nails done takes at least an hour. I thought everyone on the staff was quite nice. I find going on Saturdays to be a little funny because it must be the time for all the little old ladies to go and gossip with each other. When I went the first time I was easily the youngest one there aside from some of the women on the staff. But they were able to fit me in and so going and listening to little old women were worth it. The owner the only man that I've seen there so I'm assuming that he's the owner is very friendly. He makes a point of asking your name and then doing his best to remember it so you can welcome you the next time you go in. He also gives little back massages while you're getting your nails dry by the machines. I love this is many places that I go to to get my pedicures have stop doing this. So it's nice to be able to get this done and set this salon apart from the rest. It's very clean and looks very nice inside it has a bit of an Asian Korean and American feel to it. A nice mishmash together. When I went back a week later to get my nails touched up just to make sure they were perfect for the wedding Grace did a great job and she's also very friendly. This place is a horrible nail salon . There is a big language barrier and when you tell them that they are smudged they don't listen. I got my nails done with sns powder as everyone knows the powder color is never the same but this lady insisted the pink powder would come out white pearly color but nope it's pink and when i said that she said but you chose the color . Well I am not one to write a negative review but this is a must. I have been going to them for years and I loved it! But my most recent trip here, I was unsatisfied! The lady I got was not giving me a thorough cleaning! She did not clean my cuticles nor soak my hands in a bowl like how I always got it and worst of all she did not utilize clean utensils! I saw her take out the utensils from her drawer and use it on me. Then maybe 4-5 days into it I noticed spots underneath my nail polish but didn't think of anything of it. Then my nail polish started coming off and I saw green spots!!! I freaked out and went to the DR and told me it's nail fungus!! I was so livid! Now I'm on an ointment and have to wait it out for 6 months- year. I went and told them and they apologized and gave me a gift reward but after this I'm not sure if I'll ever go back :( read more
