I've been coming here for a few weeks now, I love the garden city location, but I moved to queens so this one is a little closer to me. I came to get my nails done today and I was treated so poorly, I ended up walking out. They were very busy and told me the wait for a gel manicure would be 10 minutes and to sit in a chair (in one of the technicians chairs because the waiting area was full). Fine. No problem- happy to wait. I understand I walked in on a Saturday and that I may have to wait. After a few minutes a technician approached me, very friendly and asked if I would mind sitting at a different chair, escorted me over since I was next and let me sit. I was there for maybe a minute when a different technician comes to me and tells me she needs the space for her client, and I just responded that another technician asked me to sit here. Before I finished the rest of my sentence she picked up my purse and moved me back to where I was. I told her to forget it and I was leaving. The party that was waiting defended me that she had no right to pick my things up and move me. I was happy to wait and I was happy to move, I was just confused because I was just moved there by someone else. Honestly, I'm a little embarrassed and I just think I'll make the trip out to garden city from now on. read more

Kim gave me a wonderful pedicure! She was attentive and kind, gentle but thorough, and even let me use the nail clippers and clear nail polish on my fingers while she worked. She used hot stones and aromatherapy oil which I loved. This place is clean and quiet (a big plus for me, since loud music of any kind is never very relaxing), and has a pretty atmosphere. The only nail salon that actually can magically make my manicures last! Not sure what it Is, they say they use a special 1 week polish but I have seen and used them at other places and by day 2 it's chipped away! Not sure if it's a different formula but it works for me and I am brutal with my nails. Gel manicures were just destroying my nail bed so happy to discover them here. I came here because of the high ratings but I ended up extremely disappointed. I came in for a pedicure and a gel manicure and almost walked out while she was doing my gel nails. It was that bad. I really wish I could receive a refund on the terrible job that was done. To start off: 1. The lady doing my nails was in a terrible mood the entire time. 2. Because of her terrible mood, she did a terrible job and I was in pain with her aggression. Let me tell you about my experience... Pedicure was okay. I asked her not to clean under my toe nails because last time it got infected but of course, she did it anyways. And let me tell you, it was painful. Blah blah blah done. Next, the gel nail... now that's a different story. She removed my gel from before, filed my nails and I asked if she could shorten it a little more and she filed it to my skin. Literally. Which was fine, I guess. Super short nails are in, right? Anyways, the thing that irritated me was that after she did all her filing, she didn't ask me to wash my hands or clean off the "dust", she immediately put the first clear coat on my nails. So my nails have these little bumps here and there. GREAT. And did I mention, she was cutting my cuticles on DRY skin? I mean, c'mon, how careless can you be. I know you're in a pissed mood but I'm paying alot of money for this, the least you can is try to make it painless... anyways, long story short, she didn't paint within the lines and she even filed my nails AFTER my gel nails were complete. Why? Because she did such a terrible job and she tried to file away the nail polish around my nails. Basically, this is the WORST job I have received. I don't recommend. Sorry. read more

I went to Dashing Diva on May 19th. I had called in advance for a 6:30 pm appt and when I arrived they were very courteous. The owner, Elaine, made it a point to address clients by their first name, which shows great customer service. They are extremely hygienic. They sterilize and package each toolkit, which is refreshing. While getting my pedicure, the owner asked if I mind if they had someone also work on my manicure while they are doing my pedicure. I assume it was because they close at 7:30 and they wanted to finish timely. While apprehensive, I agreed because I too wanted it to be done timely. The person who did my manicure was Danielle. While Danielle was very sweet, she didn't seem capable of properly filing nails. In the beginning I noted that one nail broke and I wanted the others to be filed down slightly so it isn't as noticeable. After filing one nail she realized this would be time consuming and asked if she could cut them a little and then file and I said that would be fine if she only cuts it a little and cuts it round to keep the shape. I also told her the problem with cutting it is it will be cut square and she assured me that wouldn't be the case. In summation, she wasn't able to hold true to her promise. At one point I did ask if she was new because it seemed that she was struggling severely. The pedicurist, Pia, called the owner over and I explained the problem. The owner, Elaine, showed Danielle how to file and Danielle tried to say let someone else finish but Elaine insisted that she finish. Danielle continued to struggle to file my nails in a round shape and by this time, I lost my entire nail length and my nails were now even to the broken nail. At one point, I began filing my own nails since my left hand didn't match with my right. Danielle did paint my nails neatly but the whole ordeal was exhausting. Pia did a good job on my pedicure, however I couldn't truly evaluate her since I was so preoccupied with Danielle. Despite Danielles lack of competence, I still tipped because I am not sure it was entirely her fault. More so it could be due to lack of training. When leaving the owner did apologize and I showed her again how some of my nails were square and some were round. She didn't offer any type of percentage off for a failed manicure or anything to show she was truly empathetic to the situation. I can't help but think that if they were not close to closing that my manicure would have been more successful. For a first time customer, I would say I was disappointed in my experience. I have given them 3 stars solely because of hygiene and Pia. I do not see myself going back in the foreseeable future. Update: I am changing my review to 2 stars since my pedicure only lasted one week and my manicure lasted 4 days. I brought my own polish, which was Essie Gel Couture. With that polish, I normally get 2 weeks for my toes and 10 days for my hands. I will not be going back to Dashing Diva and I regret going in the first place. My friend who went had a better experience with Ivy and she went in the morning, therefore I suggest if anyone wants to try them, go in the morning and request Ivy. read more

So Happy I decided to try Dashing Diva! The salon is immaculate, they're following all the necessary safety protocols, and the best part--the staff is truly warm and super accommodating. As a first-time client I was a bit nervous but I was greeted by Sunny who was super sweet and then I met Kelly who...let's just say by the end of the appointment, we behaved as if we were lifelong friends! Both Kelly and Sunny worked on my hands and feet, respectively--and they both did a Wonderful job! And Sunny also gave me a complementary mini shoulder/back massage which felt sooo good!! I Loved how gentle and thorough they were and understanding of my particular needs, IE--I have super sensitive cuticles on my hands so Kelly took note and was really gentle and it was much appreciated. I live in bayside and decided to try this salon after driving past it a few times bc it's so pretty. Well I won't be going back to my old nail salon, my pedicure was so relaxing and the girls there are great. They aren't obnoxious and loud like at some of the other salons in the area and the spa pedicure with hot stones was fantastic. Walked in to get a manicure after reading the many good reviews on yelp. First off The lady who did my manicure was rushing to get my gel polish off she filed my nails way too much that it hurt. On top of that she didn't clean my cuticles at all. The tools that they were using/stored in did not look clean what so ever! The over all finished nails were done very sloppy and I had bubbles/bumps in my polish, it was very uneven and it just looked terrible! For being charged 5 dollars on top of everything to take my gel polish off,17 dollars later I expected to at least have a decent job. Defiantly won't be comming back. read more

So I've been coming here for a few years and I have thought they have been so nice and great, until today. I went to get a basic pedicure with no polish or buffing. They had the nerve to charge me $37!!!!! Fine, I understand they charged me $10 more for the callous remover (that the woman had no idea how to use!) but, $26 for a pedicure with nothing else. They didn't give the oil they usually do or the massage with cream. She put on the smallest amount of cream rubbed it in for 2 seconds and then told me to move my feet so she could start cleaning. As I was putting my shoes on I stopped to look at my feet and all the cuticles she left behind she was like oh, let me take care of that. Like what the heck was she doing in the first place!!!!! Very disappointed. I don't think I will ever go back for the mere fact of how much they charged for nothing. Covid or not, that's just not right. I didn't use half of their items, such as polish, air dryers, water for the second washing before polishing, nail polish remover, the oils, the base and top coats etc. So how can they justify that price! Nice clean place. It was a nice change from the nail places closer to where I live. They were super friendly. I got a regular manicure and got a paraffin dip for free with my manicure. Felt great! My only complaint was they were pushy, trying to sell me a gel manicure and pedicure, even though I kept saying "no". I was hesitant to try this place as I've been a regular at another nail salon in the area for almost 5 years, but based on my mother's recommendation and overlapping appointments at my regular nail salon, I decided to try them out. I'm in love with this place!!!! I got my gel manicure, pedicure, and eyebrows done. I had the assistant Ivy and she's the sweetest girl! She talked to me and was very funny. In love with the service!!!! My gel manicure was absolutey beautiful!! They have so many colors to choose from. They even do chrome nails. The gel manicure and pedicure came out beautifully. Day of the party each girl received a 4-5 min quick treatment of file and polish only. The owner refused to honor the price quoted and charged me $10 for each girl, which is disgraceful. I did tip the techs, but would've given a big fat tip for a good experience. They don't honor their quotes or care about repeat business. They gave my daughter a certificate for a free manicure.
