Dr. Newman is a great physician. His specialty is Pulmonary but he is so well diversified that his…read moreexpertise flows into other areas as well. He saved my partner in crime from having to be hospitalized for weeks in a hospital when the Covid 19 was rampant. He checked on him weekly and gave him hope that this too shall pass. His recovery due to pneumonia and sepsis took months and Dr. Newman was there every step of the way. As for me, I have been a patient for decades. When other asthma doctors did not know what to do except pile on the Cortisone which had dozens of unwanted side effects, Dr. Newman was willing to investigate multiple treatments. He does not use on size fits all. Each patient is treated like an individual. He does not stop until he gives everything he has got. He learns all the new medications as they come out and tries them out to see which one is the right fit for you. An avid scuba diver, Dr. Newman treats divers all over the world. He has also treated Olympians who needed relief to compete in swimming and other sports. Dr. Newman is associated with Stanford and has been on staff for years. I cannot say enough good things about this Doctor. He is the epitome of what an excellent Doctor should be and often today are not.

He also has a beautiful new office and excellent office staff and is able to do quite a bit of testing in-house so if you go in for a diagnosis, you'll likely walk out with one unless you need blood work or radiology scans.

What I told her during my assessment is not what she put in my chart. A few things were fabricated. She had little professional objectivity; she was vindictive because I got mad at the front desk a few days prior. She made me out to be a monster in my chart. A chart is not a place to lash out at a patient. What happened at the front desk: I called to say I would be 10 minutes late. The person said to still come in. When I arrived, the woman at the front had a line. I checked in and she said the doctor would not see me because I was late. Clearly, they had zero communication. She could have rescheduled my appt instead of me rushing to the office. The office manager was antagonistic, not kind or understanding. She told me to go home and reschedule. I told her I was mad, but I was not cursing or throwing things. That somehow prompted her to accuse me of threatening the staff. What a lousy way to treat someone when your staff royally screws up. The staff is the bottom of the barrel.

The doctors tell you to pick up an order for tests, etc. at the front desk but they never have them. They don't order imaging or even preauthorize until you call wondering why you never heard back. I just cringe before calling because it's always a confrontation. If you call and ask for a doctor's assistant she is ALWAYS "unavailable" and then when you explain you are following up on something they were supposed to do they magically become available. It's really hard to deal with when you're very sick.
