While I found the treatment effective during the first year and appreciated Dr. Zhang's nice…read moredemeanor, I experienced several ongoing concerns with the overall office operations. My main issue is that this office has always felt like a money-grab. The office often recommended additional tests and appointments that did not seem necessary. Although I understand the value of Ni-Ox and lung function assessments, the repeated testing rarely resulted in meaningful adjustments to my treatment plan. Appointments frequently ended with vague feedback rather than clear next steps for improvement. During one visit, I had a reaction to the shots, which was a stressful situation. The staff appeared uncertain about how to respond, and Dr. Zhang invited a medical assistant to observe my hives without asking for my consent. This was uncomfortable and dehumanizing. Additionally, I received the bill for this appointment and they charged me for a lung function test I did not take. I contacted the billing department who said they would call me back. I never received a call back despite following up. I check today to see they have revised their billing statement to deduct that charge. Very shady business that prioritizes money over patient care. I am now seeing a new allergist who looked at my tests and said that allergists should not be administering shots to people with numbers as bad as mine were.

I've seen Dr. Yu in the past and had a good experience with her. However, my recent follow-up…read moreappointment in January was completely unacceptable and misleading. On the day of the appointment, I was initially seen by a PA, Siobhan Finn. I assumed she was simply taking notes before I spoke with Dr. Yu, but instead, she proceeded to take over the entire visit. During our discussion, she even told me I didn't need a medication that Dr. Yu had previously prescribed. The call ended, leaving me confused and frustrated. At no point was I informed that Dr. Yu would not be seeing me, and ultimately, I didn't receive the medication I had scheduled the appointment for. A few weeks later, I attempted to contact Dr. Yu through the Sutter Health Message Center. Instead of hearing from her directly, I received a response from someone named Dominique. I explained the situation and asked if I could speak with Dr. Yu without being unexpectedly replaced again. Dominique informed me that I could--but only if I paid an additional charge for a separate visit. This is incredibly poor customer service on multiple levels. I never had the opportunity to speak with the doctor I had scheduled my appointment with. I was never notified that she would not be available. And, I did not receive the medication I originally sought care for. To make matters worse, when I checked the "Appointments and Visits" section in the Sutter Health online portal, I noticed a record of a telephone visit with Siobhan Finn from this past week, late February--yet I never had such a call. I'm willing to give Dr. Yu the benefit of the doubt, but it is highly unprofessional not to inform patients when a doctor will be unavailable. Trust is a fundamental aspect of patient care, and failing to communicate this--whether personally or through an unreliable front desk--is unacceptable.

I took my 70+ year old mom (who had suddenly come down with a very rare and debilitating sun…read moreallergy - yeah, I had never heard of this either!) to Dr. Blessing Moore based on a recommendation from a friend. No other doctor had been able to help my mom for over a year. Dr. JBM solved it right away. She was extremely patient with the first visit, and asked all sorts of questions over a 45 minute session (!!) to understand everything. She recommended a recently approved treatment for urticaria that she thought would apply to my mom. She said it would take several months to take effect, and indeed after that time my mom was almost completely cured (slight occasional itchiness in her palm). I see from the other reviews there have been complaints about billing. The office was actually fantastic from a billing perspective. This particular treatment required an expensive injection once a month ($600/month, not covered by Medicare) which she now takes a few times per year. The office manager knew of two different grants that could apply. They did all the paperwork and have managed the grants for my mom for over two years. Net: she has had to pay very little out of pocket for this otherwise expensive treatment. I cannot recommend Dr. Blessing Moore any higher for allergy issues. Just remember to have some perspective - it is a small, very personal office, not a huge well oiled corporate machine like Sutter Health.

So, I still go to Dr. Cummings now…read more After spending 2 1/2 years trying to get Dr. Blessing-Moore to bill my insurance (and stop sending me bills for thousands of dollars that had not been run through insurance), I finally got the matter resolved. in fact, Dr. Blessing-Moore's office cut me a check for $200, money that she owed me from 2002. Flash forward to 2009--I got a flu shot in November, and now I am calling up in January to pay for it (because, at the time, they told me they'd bill me...but no bill.) At first, they had no record of having given it to me. Then they said they billed my insurance. Then it turns out they submitted the bill under the wrong name, so it's coming back. Of course, this is after the front desk receptionist told me that they don't bill insurance for flu shots--I had offered to pay on the spot to avoid any further Blessing-Moore billing hassles. We'll see how this goes--I hope to resolve it by May or so. Like I said, some things never change. I am grateful for the shot, but the billing issues remain. I am still pleased with my decision to move to Dr. Cummings.
