    The Corset Factory - Exterior

    The Corset Factory

I'm going into my fourth year at the Corset Factory and I still absolutely love it here. I have a…read moretwo bedroom apartment that is very spacious and bright. The unit I'm in has beautiful exposed beams and brick and the tall windows let in a ton of light. I like living in places that have an historic feel to them and this place definitely delivers. You can really feel the history of the old factory here (in a good way). I also love being so close to downtown South Norwalk. I've lived in Norwalk for over 17 years and never truly came to appreciate it until I moved to SoNo. Another reviewer complained about hearing the neighbors. Maybe I've just been lucky, but that really hasn't been a problem from me. I'm 47 and this is the first time I've ever lived in an apartment building. I thought noise would be a problem, but it really hasn't been. My neighbors are great. There are two dogs on my floor that I rarely ever hear. About two years ago they added an outside common area with a fire pit, grills and planters. Its an absolutely fantastic place to hang out on a nice evening. The grounds are kept very clean as is the inside of the building. I have had no issues whatsoever with the management. They have been quick to respond to me and have always been courteous. The maintenance folks have also been great. The building super is a nice, friendly guy. The few times I've needed work done, he did a fantastic job. I just renewed my lease for a fourth year. I would highly recommend the Corset Factory to anyone looking to rent in the Norwalk area.

I lived in the Corset Factory for three years. The physical space of this apartment complex is…read morebeautiful. Lots of brick and huge windows. Feels like a renovated industrial-area loft. The ceiling is quite thin from a noise perspective so I could hear everything my upstairs neighbor did (including sneeze and repeat watching of the entire Rocky movie series). But thankfully the neighbors were not so loud that I couldn't tolerate it for three years. However, down the hall was a resident with two dogs that never stopped barking. The management company did nothing to resolve it and I can't imagine what it was like living next door to them. Also, the heat/air conditioning systems is REALLY loud. Loud as in pause the TV and stop talking until it shuts off. Despite some positive aspects such as location and physical appeal, the management company/leasing office (Spinnaker Real Estate Partners in South Norwalk) is the WORST I have ever dealt with. Rude, arrogant, incompetent, unprofessional, poor communication skills, generally unavailable and unhelpful. BEWARE they also manage the new IRON WORKS buildings. I'd highly recommend staying away from both properties if you ever intend to interact with management or leasing. Or if you hope to get your deposit back. It has nothing to do with damage or deductions from the deposit (I received the full deposit back), but I had to personally follow up with the management company multiple times to figure out how I was going to get the deposit back. If I hadn't been so persistent, I would never have received it. In my experience, the management never responded to emails, answered the phone, or replied to voicemails. Finally, to get my questions answered I had to physically show up in the management office and corner the manager. Its a nice place to live and reasonably priced, but save yourself the headache and frustration if you can and find somewhere else.

We contracted with Maya at Hacker Kitchens Greenwich in February to build our dream kitchen. She…read morehad great reviews and can travel anywhere. Maya is very, very, very precise and careful. Measurements are to 1/16 of an inch and we were thrilled. You will never find anyone like her. She is an engineer, designer and an architect. If you want your kitchen done fast and cheap; go somewhere else. If you want it done just once and beautifully; make an appointment with Maya. I have done 5 kitchens over my life and this was by far the best one. A few things you should know regarding a total redo of a kitchen like we did. 1-The process will take time, probably longer than you think, and you can not rush it 2-It will cost more than you think for crazy things you will pick out later in the process. I just spent $112 for special electrical faceplates on Amazon because they were gorgeous. Hacker Kitchens is responsible for cabinets, appliances (which are frequently incorporated into the cabinets), backsplash and countertops. You may need a general contractor for specialities like electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc. She may be able to help with recommendations or I would be happy to share names of the professionals that I used in the NY, CT area. If you speak with Maya and want to see a finished kitchen, ask her to call Louis or Susan. We would be proud to show you.

We did a major kitchen renovation in 2021 and had zero experience going into the process. After…read moreweeks of looking at every conceivable cabinet line, we settled on Hacker as the style that most clearly embodied what we were looking for--clean lines, modern approach and fully functional for a family with 4 kids. After some research, we were not only thrilled to find Maya--the company's representative in the US--but amazed that she designed kitchens in the DC area. From the first phone call, she immediately got us and what we were looking for. For people with a vision/taste but little practical experience, she guided us in our choices--making the process understandable and giving us recommendations where she knew what we wanted wasn't going to look right. She was the perfect balance of being supportive but also allowing us the benefit of her experience. After the ordering, Maya really took charge of communicating with the contractors--countertop, hacker and installers--and just took so much stress out of the process for us. She wasn't satisfied until every measurement was perfect and every checklist item had been addressed to our satisfaction. Sitting here in our new kitchen, I can't believe how amazing everything came out and we couldn't have done it without Maya.

I moved there in 2022 and they have not power building all clean the stairs since I've been there, a closet fell on 's head and she had a concussion damn shame the Management don't know the word escrow or what it means she said she needs to look it up there was a whole shootout there bullets went into other people's apartments it's just not allThey don't take care of that the washer dryers don't work properly at all they don't fix shit. It's really sad. It could be a better place. If they had a proper management there's nowhere for kids to play their basketball court. Been broke for three years. You can't cook out. They said you could and didn't stopped it. It's really sad. I was so angry about the whole situation, but I will be more careful of where I go from now on each one teach one be careful what you careful what you look for and make sure you and see the place before you even enter Management plays plenty of games. Tell plenty of not move there.

Thats a lie. you get one and when someone parks in your reserved spot there's nothing you can do about it. they don't have a towing company set up for towing, property manager ignores your emails and phone calls when you try to complain about it. The police won't do anything because it's private property. I suggest going to the Norwalk Police station and requesting a log of how many times the police have been called to these apartments in the last couple of years. Theres drug activity and illegal gambling at some of the apartments. property manager also does nothing about that. my bathroom ceiling had a leak since the day I moved in up until the last day I resided there. The stairs are filthy and was cleaned probably twice in six month and that's because of complaints I've made. the residents smoke underneath the stairwell in building 4. The stairs are absolutely filthy, with garbage, food, empty bottles etc. There's no washer and dryer in the units and most likely youre not going to get and apartment with upstairs and down stairs. DONT MOVE HERE ESPECIALLY BUILDING FOUR
