This review is LONG overdue... Back in May I was heading to my first class of the summer semester…read moreand was unable to shift out of my parking spot in a parking garage on campus. What I initially thought was my transmission ended up being a broken piece on my shifter cable. Keep in mind, this occurred on the Wednesday before Memorial Day Weekend, and the workers (as they should) were also planning to enjoy the long weekend/holiday. John let me know that it was highly unlikely that my car would be fixed before the weekend, which I understood, but I was still a bit bummed about because I had several plans to start moving, traveling, etc. While I did not mention any of these circumstances to John, he let me know to call in the next morning for an update on the vehicle. To my very happy surprise, he let me know that he was able to find a shifter cable part from a friend in the community, and he even stayed late to fix it! Replacing shifter cables can be a pain, and I was so taken back that he was able to have my car back to me in less than 24 hours, with no appointment or heads up. I am not noting that he stayed late as something customers should rely on when choosing an auto repair shop. However, John was very thorough in explaining the process to me, and A&A exceeded all of my expectations. To stay late for someone so that they can have their car before the holiday weekend is top notch customer service, and it goes way beyond what any repair shop needed to do. Trust me, there are WAY more of people needing repairs and this shop would have stayed busy even without my business. To sum it up, A&A is reliable, I never once worried that I would be scammed as a young woman, and I will definitely bring my car back if I have any maintenance or any other issues. Thank you A&A!!

The cost they quoted me for repairs was more than my car was even worth. Breakdown: Rear brake job- $535 Front brake job- $535 Tie rod ends- $323 Alignment- $125 Struts- $1,920 Ac condenser- $1921 A/C service (which I was told at the last visit would not fix my a/c as it is the condenser that is broken)- $175.85 Degrease engine bay- $138 Water pump- $1041 Air filter box- $499 Air filter snorkel- $451 Windshield wipers- $47 End bill was ~$9,450 Now just for kicks and giggles, I had them replace the windshield wipers as I don't like doing it myself. It costed $144 after labor. I don't mind paying for good work. But the prices are all in the highest range of every Google estimate for fixing these issues. Even someone with money to burn would not pay these prices. I am a teacher. I need a working car. I took my car to my dad, who was an air force mechanic for 28 years. He was able to fix all issues in the car except the a/c for $700 worth of parts and about 3 hours of work. Why? My car did not need half the repairs they told me it needed, and not for their exorbitant cost of labor. Your mechanics are charging more for labor than my dad made per hour in the military. Cars are already expensive. Esler's does not need to charge disgustingly high prices for routine maintenance, and they certainly don't need to suggest repairs that don't need done. I will not be coming back. Half star is for the front desk lady. She was really nice and got me scheduled quickly. Give her a raise. Maybe you can give her some of that labor cost.

Been a customer of El Camino (Georgetown Road) for a few years. They have great hours and service…read morehad always been top-notch. They always treated me fairly and did not try to rip off customers like other tire places. I had (notice the use of past tense) such positive experiences there that I recommended the store to several other people. Today that all changed...dramatically. I noticed one of my tires was leaking so I went to the shop at about 3:15. I got in right away. I was told that I actually needed two front tires. I agreed to that as well as an alignment and to have the tires balanced. New tires got mounted pretty quickly. Then a worker came and got my keys (actually there was already another set in the car) to do the alignment. Then I waited and waited and waited. Numerous people came in the store, had their vehicle serviced and left. Not me though. I waited, waited and waited some more. Very little communication from the El Camino staff. When I asked what was taking so long, I was told there were people ahead of me and they were "working on it." Then I waited, waited and waited some more. It got to the point that I was virtually the only one left in the waiting room. The staff had to know I was getting upset, yet they did ZERO to address my frustration. Finally, at almost 6 pm, when I had been there nearly 3 hours, I went to the desk and demanded my car back, that I would just pay for whatever work was done, and leave. That apparently sparked them to actually finish the work. I finally got the keys back 10 minutes later. I paid the bill and left. I understand that maybe the work on my vehicle "fell through the cracks" or for some reason was taking longer than expected. That happens in this line of business. But there is no excuse for the lack of communication and the unwillingness to treat a longtime customer without even a modicum of respect. They apparently didn't value my business or care that after such a poor experience I would be unlikely to ever come back and would certainly not recommend it to my friends. I would not recommend this place after what I experienced today.

He ended up taking the car to Walmart, where they were able to properly repair the tire. When he contacted El Camino to request a refund for the unsuccessful repair, they refused. Instead, I suggest Discount Tire or Belle Tire. They offer free tire repairs when possible and stand behind their work.
