I had a very pleasant and relaxing rental experience with this location. It was so much easier…read morerenting from this smaller shop than at the busy airport. The agent took time to sit in the car with me to make sure my phone connected to Apple Play and which map app worked, I tested the windshield wipers since it was raining and it squeaked so he cleaned up a different car for me quickly, I could make sure mirrors adjusted to my height. He answered all my questions and never rushed me. We were able to sit down to process the forms and pay which was more comfortable than standing at a counter and gave me a little more time to acclimate to the vehicle. The website said it doesn't allow afterhours dropoff but they said it does which was quite a relief since I wasn't sure if I'd make it back before 6pm. Afterhours Dropoff was super easy and my receipt the next morning showed that I was only charged through the dropoff day and not the next morning when their office opened. Everyone in the office was nice. Location is easy to find and drive to.

Despite this, the location didn't process the return for nearly a week -- then they claimed without any evidence that the vehicle was damaged while the vehicle was in our possession. There was no damage to the vehicle when it was returned to their lot. When we called to ask about a damage claim, we were verbally told there was no issue and that we'd receive written confirmation we weren't liable. That confirmation never came. Instead, months later we started receiving bills and collection threats for damage we don't believe we are responsible for, with no clear documentation connecting the damage to our actual rental period. We ended up paying rather than risk our credit, but we do not believe this was handled fairly or honestly. If you rent from this location, take photos of the vehicle prior to and at drop-off and get written confirmation of your return time -- don't assume they'll process it promptly or that verbal reassurances mean anything.

Then when I was told who to meet that night, I came in and he pushed me off to someone else. In the end, I bought a Ford SUV 20011 and that experience went great. They gave me 19,500 for the truck ( far cry from 15,000 ) and took off close to 3,500 from the sticker. Great on the trade and fair enough on the markdown. Would I recommend them "never" . Even my wife said, don't you remember we had a bad experience 10 years ago? Why would you go back... She is right!

They did a fantastic job on my bumper, cleaned my headlights (something that has been on my to-do list for years now, so that is a huge life saver), did an excellent interior/exterior clean, and even left a little goodie bag in the car. Let us also go back to the part where the did all of this in a day! When was the last time you had car work done in 1 day?! As an added bonus, the people there are an absolute delight to work with! Also I swear I'm hearing a louder whistling noise when I'm on the highway like the door isn't fully sealed but rain doesn't come in so I guess that's okay too. They fully cleaned and detailed my car which I thought was a very nice gesture after taking longer than the initial quote to get the work done. However when I looked in my bag of tote bags I saw evidence of mice/some small animal who went after a couple bags and my orange hand sanitizer. I don't eat in my car and have never had this problem ever, so I know it occurred while at the collision center. Take everything out of your car if you go!!

Budget Peabody Review: AWFUL This is my second experience…read moreusing this rental brand's location in Peabody. My latest encounter reminded me of a filming for training purposes only of what a sales representative(s) should never do when dealing with a customer, especially one who has been loyal to the brand. I truly believed that I was maybe on some show that tries to catch you in an unexpected situation recording the way you handle it. Later telling you: Surprise: "You're on Candid Camera". SADLY this was not a joke, they really act that way. Verified now in stone as it was my second such experience with them in a very short time. The staff I have dealt with are rude, uncaring, and do not wish to even make eye contact. The parking area is inadequate, they literally throw the rental key at you, tell you the car is fine (do not take you to see it prior to leaving) they do not tell you where the care is, and couldn't give a darn if you ever come back. My car was located by pressing the unlock button on the key and then following the headlights that went on. This location's staff are appalling, they have no place in any service industry and if Budget wishes to retain their loyal customers my suggestion is either retrain them or let them go. They are harmful to the company. Note: I have had many previous rentals using Budget in various other states in the past. Without exception they have been wonderful, friendly and really flawless encounters. Can't understand why the Peabody location is so awful. You can do so much better.

After waiting 5 hours for road side assistance to arrive I was given a tow to my final destination. This location initially tried to give me $20 back for all of this. I explained that I would have to touch base with an attorney before going forward with anything and was immediately kicked out. Later I received an email stating that half of my purchase was refunded, something like $170 of $300. I was broken down for 5 hours and these guys seriously were only willing to give me half of my total charge back. I am now in the process of working with corporate to figure something out. The entire situation was a nightmare.

I had a pleasant conversation while she filled out my info, and she gave clear instructions on what I needed to do. I found the store to be clean and organized and it was easy to find the truck parked in the back lot. The truck was also in good condition when I left with it. I would recommend this location for picking up a truck!
