Dante's Pizza has been serving Columbus since 1973, and after this visit it's easy to see why they've been around for more than 50 years. Our group sampled four different pizzas: Pepperoni & Sausage, Mushroom & Black Olive, Pepperoni with Green Pepper & Onion, and the All the Way. We also tried the gluten-free pepperoni pizza. Every one of them was outstanding. When it comes to pepperoni and sausage pizza, Dante's has long been my personal favorite. The crust is right in the middle, not thick and doughy, and not cracker thin. The sauce is lightly applied with a nice balance of sweetness and tanginess that lets the toppings shine. What really sets Dante's apart is their sausage. It's a traditional Italian fennel-based sausage made from founder Joe's original recipe. We learned that Wieland's Market, just a few doors away, still makes that custom sausage exclusively for Dante's. It has a distinctive flavor you simply don't find on most pizzas, and it's the reason I keep coming back. Our server, Gavin, was outstanding, and it was a pleasure meeting Pat, who has been making pizzas there for decades. Great food, great people, and a classic Columbus pizza tradition. So we were at a yelp event at Winston's across the street and decided to try this pizza spot because we didn't feel like cooking and wanted to try a new pizza place for us! Well I'm so glad we did! THEY DONT TAKE APPLE PAY OR ANY CARD PAYMENTS!!! cash, Zelle and Cash App only! Baby they was packed and busy! So we got the 12in 3 topping pizza and it was $17.70! Everyone was really nice and did tell us their sauce is garlic forward and huni he wasn't lying! NORE DO THEY SKIMP ON THE TOPPING THANK YOU BTW! We got pep, sausage and ham with extra sauce and they put the extra sauce on top OMG!!! IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! The sausage was perfectly cooked and the ham was crispy! There is an area to sit down and dine with some decor on the walls and it was very cute! Now they do have take out options also because baby they was pumping them take out orders out like hot cakes! Since we were in the area we always want to stop in at Dante's Pizzeria. We had a great experience during our last visit so we wanted to patron this establishment again. It did not disappoint. We ordered the 14" pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. The atmosphere is amazing and I loved the rotating Budweiser Clydesdale horse and carriage light fixture. Christina the owner is the best. A Clintonville institution who still takes cash, checks, and Venmo. I realized it had been quite a while since I'd stopped in so on Pizza Night I called in my order, and showed up 20 minutes later to pay for it and pick it up. They use the crispy pepperoni and make the sausage in-house. It's got a little black pepper kick or another spice that makes it zingy but not enough to burn off your taste buds. For years I've been hearing that I need to try place. So last Saturday was the day. I was in the area wasn't really hungry but I did want to try. I ordered a pep, sausage, Ohio, garlic and banana pepper. As I was waiting on my order the incredible smell got to me. So once I got to the car I couldn't wait to try. Of course I burnt all the skin off the top of my mouth but still so good. Let me tell you that one peace wasn't going to do it so as I was driving I took another and another piece of like I said I was driving and this thing incredible crust held up. Not one topping ended up in my lap or on my shirt must of had 5 or 6 pieces on my way home (pic of what was left when I got home) The balm e of flavors was near perfect, maybe a bit more garlic would have been nice for my liking would have been nice but like I said near perfect. It wasn't lacking in any other topping and cheese. The staff was extremely friendly My only regret was not trying this place sooner. Will definitely return. Also I will just add I purposefully didn't eat it all cause I wanted to see how good it was the next day. This is the first time I tried Dantes! I got 14 Pepperoni and cheese with extra pepperoni and cheese. Wow it was fantastic! I loved everything about it! The flavor was so good. I will be back soon. There was a number family and I could tell they all was regulars and getting hugs. It a small dinning area but very clean and comfortable. The time my husband and I will eat there. It smelled so good there and all the way home. I did not know they was only cash, Zelle, Vermont that was not issue I work for Huntington and I sent money thru Zelle. We tried Dante's for the first time this week. I'd rate it a solid middle of the road option - we got Ezzo pep as our topping because it's one of my favorites. We also got a quart of salad, which came pre-dressed in their oily dressing but lacked flavor. Overall, it isn't terrible but it wouldn't ever be my first choice. It was just a bit greasy and soggy for me. As with most of my pizza reviews, I like to mention how it tastes day-old cold from the fridge. The outside crusty pieces were best, albeit a bit chewy. Overall, it was fine but not great. The best thing was the ezzo pepperoni. Also, they have the flimsiest boxes I've ever seen. Like a donut box. First time visitors this evening. So very good! The staff was fantastic from the moment you step in the door all the way through your dinner experience and out the door. Service is key to me and everyone was fantastic. Very authentic and it was very refreshing. Beer and wine only. Glasses of wine are $6 a piece and they have red and whites. We split an Italian sub and a 10" veggie which was SO VERY GOOD. There are about 12 tables total in the small dining room and it's a casual environment. When you go in simply take a seat and you'll be waited on - we didn't know we stood to wait to be seated - not necessary. Small enough dining room. Dante's takes cash/check or VENMO - no credit cards. Kind of unique but super smart on their part. We paid with cash and what I love about Dante's is observing the locals :). With every take out order that was placed, everyone was super casual and chill and they all know the routine. I loved this place. So long as they have beer/wine options I'm golden. Every time I pass Dantes, I say I'm going to order so I finally got myself a Friday night pizza. Right now, they're pick up only. It took about 20 minutes for 1 pizza, which was pretty awesome. I grabbed a couple of groceries from Weilands, and my pizza was ready. Good cheese to sauce ratio. Plenty of topping. I really liked the crust, thin but still a little chewy. This was the first time I had ever had Dante's. Just the smell from inside in the parking lot was a good indicator that this was going to be some bomb pizza. As soon as I walked into the shop, a smiling greeted me and checked me out. I did have to wait a little bit for the large Everything Pizza to be done, but it was delicious. I drive by this place five nights a week and see people working their butts off and think, "damn, are they that busy? Is this pizza that good"? And I finally got to try it. It's a small shop hidden in a corner of a larger plaza on Indianola. I'd never have noticed it if I wasn't going to the gym next door. I ordered two large pizzas and had a $2 coupon. After tax it was $30. The price was very fair and it was worth it. You'll see from the pictures, they are loaded with toppings. Their homemade sausage and pepperoni is simply delicious. The pizza is thin crust and cooked perfectly with a nice crunch. And not greasy. They know what they're doing here. Will definitely go back again. Plenty of parking and pickup only. Dante's is the quintessential local pizza parlor. It may look terrible inside and out, and the staff is crusty and terrifying. They don't take credit cards, or deliver right around the corner. It makes up for it all with their Midwest pie. They also have beer so kick ass. I ordered a large vegetable. It was ready in about 20 minutes. The large is about $10 to $12. It's not the cheapest but the quality is much better than most of the competitors. The pizza was thin cut into squares. It's not my way of cutting pizza but otherwise it was good. They also have other menu items like subs. It also serves beer if you're eating inside. The dining room is really tiny with few tables unfortunately so it would be hard to do so. I want authenticity and Dante's certainly has some. It's what neighborhood pizza should be. This place is small inside so you should order takeout. read more

Tried for the first time and will not be going back. Shared a pizza and Italian sub with my son and neither was great. The sub was burnt and the Italian dressing on the sub I was not a fan of. Also, ordered with no tomatoes or banana peppers and came with both. Recognized the tomatoes but missed the banana peppers. Then the pizza ordered with lite sauce was loaded with sauce an inedible. Best kept secret in Columbus. Edge-to-edge thin crust pizza. Clean kitchen that is visible to customers. Independent business, high quality, fresh, and affordable. The new owner worked at Dante's for 25+ years, then bought the business and operates it with her husband. The service is great - usually the owner will wait on customers. They want customers to have a great experience and they are very attentive. This place was good in the past, but somehow, it's even better now. Dante's has a lot of takeout business.
