The Garlic Buttercrust Pizza is definitely one of the highlights here. This is Oneonta, and there are a lot of pizza places here. Dante's is definitely one of the go-tos for the family. It's got a rustic atmosphere, which is a nice way of saying that they probably haven't updated the interior in a while, probably since I was a child. It's okay though. It's well maintained, they keep it clean, everybody there is friendly, and the pizza is so good. The Oneonta area is certainly not having the best of times economically, so I will not subtract points for someone who's thriving and surviving in a business in this area. I first ordered stromboli about a month ago. Great! I again ordered it 2 days ago- Awful!! The crust was thick and tough, and undercooked. It's shape was flat, and the veggie filling thin, barely there. Not likely to order again. read more

Dante's is my new favorite pizza place. We love a good white pizza, but since Gino's and Joe's is no longer at Southside Mall, we had not found a replacement. We have now. Love the pizza! We have tried the white three veggie pizza -loved it. We have tried the white basil pizza - liked it. Great pepperoni pizza. Poppers are different that what you can normally find in the area. A bit spicier. I enjoyed them. Wife loved the Mac and cheese bites. The fried cauliflower was solid. The ugly sticks were interesting, but we didn't end up finishing them. I rank them higher than Alfresco's, Sal's, Wise Guys, and Pondo's. Much better sauce than Cabin Pizza. read more

Am an out of towner here for baseball with the son. A buddy and I were looking for pizza and were grateful Dante was open. Solid hangover/ bar pizza. Fries were fine. The guys in the back seemed genuine and nice. The restaurant was empty and my friend and I were dripping with sweat....dripping. Maybe an off day regarding the HVAC, but we used more napkins to wipe our sweat than to wipe our mouths. Ha. Otherwise, while not gourmet pizza, solid food and will go again. read more

Coming from Connecticut..Im pretty picky about pizza and living jn the Oneonta area, I have been greatly disappointed. I saw decent reviews on Google and on here. So, i was willingly to give this place a try. I will tell you..the pizza is horrible! I should have known when I went to pick up the pizza around 6ish..no one was in there eating or waiting for pizza. It was empty! Thats a bad sign. I brought the pizza home and its very thin, soft pizza with a weird after taste to it. My boyfriend and I only was able to eat half and threw the rest away. I will never order there again. Horrible we waited 1 hr 20 minutes and got the wrong pizza and cold wings. Spent $50 for horrible food. Called back they said they make another pizza in 30 more minutes but wanted the wrong pizza they delivered back. Yuck we're they gonna resell it . Oct 13, 2015 Let me preface by saying that my experience with Dante's started out great. The pizza and wings were really good, ordered there several times. Over time the wings have gotten worse (hard and chewy like dry meat, or even jerky), pizza bland and seemed lazy. But tonight, when I wanted to relax with my family and watch our shows I was treated to this. The burger peeled apart, from top to bottom, in half it was so mushy. The entire texture was like slime, with a few raw looking parts. The buns looked like sub bread or rolls. The other dish ordered had a small round hole punch size piece of plastic in it as well. Taking a serious break from their food/service, as it seems they no longer want high standards, let alone free positive exposure by this page and its members. Hope everyone has a better night than I did, ended up going to McDonald's and grabbing a mushroom steak burger so I could have a more cheerful night. Aug 4, 2015 Really been enjoying Dante's Pizzeria. Pizza has been good except 2 times. Once was crunchy and somewhat burnt, second time was doughy and soggy. But more good ones than bad, and wings are good. Had chicken parm 2 times, second time the noodles were a bit overdone, but I suppose being sealed in a container for a bit will do that. Ordered my pizza to have it delivered. 1 hr and 5 mins later it arrived. I was told it would be 45min until delivery. 2 small pepperoni pizzas and a small salad cost $34. I was willing to pay it because it must be good. I was horribly wrong. I won't even eat the salad. The salami and ham on the salad have a green and grey color. The small pizza each had tough to chew dough. The pizza was extra greasy. If it wasn't cold with a flat hard to chew dough it might have been good. The flavor was there. I would have called and asked for my money back, but my 3 and 2 year old were crying they were so hungry. All in all I will never order there again. Buy a Frozen pizza. You would save your money and your time. read more
