We were driving by Danny's Drive-In after spending the weekend camping in the area. My brothers name happens to be "Danny" and that was a good enough reason for us to stop for lunch. In all, we ordered two double cheeseburgers, cheese fries, chicken fingers, regular fries, and two sodas, which came out to roughly $20. I'm not sure how you can complain about those prices, but apparently some people can. Those prices don't look like they've changed since Danny opened in 1940. That's obviously a joke, but they've actually only gone up a buck over the past 7 years according to another reviewer's picture. That's not bad and, honestly, pretty nice of the local drive in to stay affordable. The food was great considering how inexpensive it was and rivaled any sort of cheap burger I've ever had. You have to order it "with everything". They said that's how they do it so that's how you should eat it. The staff was also very nice and helped us through the menu. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be back! read more

I've been coming here since I was a child! How nice it is to say that.... Honestly, I love this longtime running diner and am slightly heartbroken it would lose a few Yelp stars due to a couple of negative reviews... please don't listen to their whining bias. I mean...what more could you ask for? Some people just can't appreciate anything. It's a drive-in with the best made to order burgers and fries. Old diner/drive in. Its been there as long as I can remember. My mom says it was there when she was a kid, but they called it The Boulevard. Don't expect anything fancy. We've always gone for the cheeseburger with hot sauce. Be prepared, they're small but good. They taste like I remember. Fries are good. I tried the Honey dipped chicken too, it was good. Be sure to get a jar of hot sauce to take home. And get some ice cream for dessert. Staff if friendly. The decor hasn't changed. I really wish I took pictures of my food. If you can call it food! The owners should be ashamed of themselves. This was the worst burger I ever had, and I've been to some pretty bad place. Sadly this area had virtually nothing open so we stopped in. Big sign out front says "Thicker Burgers". That's a flat out lie! These were thinner than a White Castle, burnt, flavorless and they plunk this vile swill on a big, fat bun and it literally gets lost in it. I threw away about half a bun. Please keep in mind that I am absolutely not exaggerating on any of this. The french fries were ok aesthetically, but they too were flavorless mush. Chocolate shake? Um, please, El Cheapo on the chocolate! Again, flavorless. You paid extra for ketchup, relish and whatever other "topping" you wanted. When did ketchup and relish become a topping? But they obviously don't have inspectors in these places nor does it seem that Pa has standard weight and measure for what they sell you. For example, out where I live, you cannot get a cold cut sandwich on regular bread where there is less than 1/4 pound of meat on it. Most places put too much and you have to pull some out. This place? They just don't give a shit. 40 minutes to make a (virtually invisible) burger and mushy fries, absurd! Shame on you Danny's. You take advantage of hungry people because you know you are the only place open. For shame. read more

This place is really bad. There's no cell phone signal the prices are outrageous. They have wifi but it doesn't work. There was a baby crawling around the floor. The food is priced as plain. You have to pay for anything you want on it including ketchup mustard onions and the hot sauce is outrageously priced at 6 dollars a use. The roof leaks as does the air conditioner. Danny's has been there as long as I can remember . If you like hot spicy burgers they have them . New owners took over and the food has stayed the same over the years . The burgers are small but good . I don't know if they serve 1/4 pounders or not . The thing I can't understand is why it takes so long to get a burger . It has always been that way . Cheeseburgers with Danny's Hot Sauce. I get one every time I stop here.(they are so good) I also buy a jar of Danny's HOT sauce to take home. Good food, reasonable prices and ice cream. Service is always friendly. Danny's has about five booths and counter service, but you can also order takeout. read more

While exploring Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine, we decided to stop here for a quick bite. So glad we did! The food is cooked fresh in the open kitchen, the atmosphere has clearly not changed in years, and the food is fantastic! Try the Mrs. T's pierogis--they are deep-fried! Seating is limited, but on a rainy day there were not many people in the place. If you're looking for a sit-down fancy eatery, then look elsewhere, this is nothing but a diner with friendly, attentive staff and good old-fashioned diner food. The food is way over priced for its quality. The hamburgers and hot dogs were poor quality, draped in a ton of hot sauce in order to hide their flavor. I tried to give them a second chance and order takeout from them on a Saturday night only to find out they close at 6pm. Who on earth closes at 6pm on a Saturday? This is one of our family's favorite places for a treat. Menu is a bit pricey, but you can't beat the food. The hot sauce is great, and I don't normally like hot stuff! This place is ok. A little overrated I feel in coal region culture. This is another coal region institution that has been in operation for years and is still going. The food is average and prices on some of the dishes and burgers are a little overpriced. The place hasnt changed physically either as it is the Same decor for years. If you are looking for a place to get a reasonably priced meal, this is not it. That being said, if you don't mind paying a bit the food at Danny's is consistently great. Their cheeseburgers are a bit small, but they are flavorful (especially with the hot sauce). The milkshakes are good, and they have a good selection of ice cream flavors and sundaes. The atmosphere is very retro diner, it's a small place with 5 booths (if I recall correctly) and the rest of the seating consists of stools lined up along the counter. They have at least one table outside where you can sit and eat your meal or ice cream during the summer. You can also call ahead and take your food home. The restrooms are one person at a time use and also a little cramped, but always clean. The wait staff has always been friendly and quick to see to your needs. Overall, my family and I love eating at Danny's and if the prices were a bit lower I would easily give this diner 5 stars. If you do stop by, do yourself a favor and pick up a jar of hot sauce to take home, it is excellent! read more
