Right at the front of the entrance you first smell the freshly popped corn and you know you are about to buy a bag. Who can resist fresh popcorn? The owner is super friendly and gave us a sample of kettle corn. My friend got the mix that had cheddar and kettle corn. I got a huge bag of salted popcorn which was crunchy, lightly salted and had just the right amount of oil. I would have taken a pic but my mom and I have inhaled more than half the bag already haha. I like how their ingredients for the kettle corn are so simple: corn, corn oil, pure cane sugar and salt. That's it! Their website shows they are at a TON of local farmers markets all summer and fall. Check out their site to find their next event, you must try a bag of their popcorn!

They're light, have a good balance of saltiness, and are crispy. I bought the Chicago style mix. It has both flavors and I almost finished the bag in one sitting. I looked on their website and they have a lot more flavors. Prices are fair for the quantity and quality. I recommend stopping by and buying a bag.

Johnnie's Beef has hands down the best Italian beef in Chicago! I wasn't sure what to expect. I…read morecame here on a Saturday around 1pm and the line wasn't too long. The menu is straight to the point and the restaurant itself is pretty small. You'll be standing eating inside or you can go outside where they have tables. The employees are incredibly efficient! The line moves quick and I recommend reviewing the menu ahead of time. For the food, I ordered the Italian beef, French fries and Italian ice. The first bite of the Italian beef was incredible. There was so much flavor and the peppers gave it a great kick. I ended up ordering another one. The fries were fresh and I would get again. The Italian ice was the star as well. It was so good! I can't even put it to words. The whole meal was perfect. I cannot wait to try it again. Thank you so much Johnnie's Beef!

So it was all about the beef and sausage sandwich for me and I will say I found the sausage to be spicier than the peppers themselves which was totally awesome as anything that's hot I'm game for, while it wasn't overly bearing hot it just had a good flavor to it with every component especially the beef itself which honestly I kinda wish I would have only gotten the beef as I just enjoyed it's flavor on that yummy bread with the sweet and the hot peppers! They had a tamale here too and it was ok it was 4 small pieces that were easy to share or had a good corn flavor to it while it was yummy It really reminded me of the ones that you can find on the corner of Rampart & Beverly in LA as the flavor was very similar to me. One of the biggest goodies here was that lemon ice like that was sooo yummy such a good lemon flavor all iced out it really hit the spot for being one of the best lemon ice I've ever had! Overall super yummy little spot doing it right so do yourself a favor and just go to Johnnie's you'll be happy you did!

Long layover in O'hare so I needed lunch and figured why the hell not? When in Rome, right?…read moreThe space is small and u assuming yet manages to feel like a little shop on the Chicago streets. An army of people was cooking and I ordered a Chicago dog, which came with fries and was about $10. No bad. The meal was ready in about two minutes. Freaky fast . The peppers really accentuated the relish and the dog itself was juicy and perfectly Cooked. Eh on the tomatoes.

I absolutely LOVE Chicago Dogs, as living in VA, we don't have access to the authentic thing... So,…read morewhen in Chicago, I always try to hit a Portillos or someplace that has them and on this most recent visit I was too busy to get any while in town, so I ended up grabbing one here, at Gold Coast while about to fly out. I also equally love a good Italian Beef with spicy giardiniera, so I got one of those as well. The guy taking my order was friendly and when I asked which was better, he told me to go with the Italian Beef. I ultimately chose both and waited for them to be made, which only took a few minutes. Each sandwich comes with an order of fries, but I didn't want that many fries, but they don't sell them (or didn't offer them) without fries. When it came time to dive in... I started with the Chicago Dog and it looked decent, even with one sad slice of tomato across the center. It's supposed to have a small wedge of tomato inside it. The pickled green peppers were all at the back of the hot dog and there were only 2... so, I didn't get a bite of this until I got to that part of the hot dog. The rest of it was on-point! They even used a Vienna beef hot dog. When it came to the Italian Beef, I got the au jus on the side to dip and it came in a small cup, so I poured it onto the sandwich as I was eating it. Unfortunately, the beef was very dry, even though there was a LOT of it there and the spicy gardenia was basic and bland... I hardly noticed it was there. The bread was starchy and dense and not flavored well. Overall, this wasn't a very good Chicago Style Italian Beef sandwich. I really wanted to like this place, as it was my only hope for trying the basics on this visit, but I wasn't too impressed. If I needed to stop in here again in the future, I'll only go with the dog, definitely not the Italian Beef.
