I've had my fair share of PR food and I have to say this is it, this is the one! Sadly, they are only out in the OIP neighborhood during the summer/fall time so the 1 year wait was much anticipated. Family owned and great service, the prices are very decent for the quality of food you're getting along with variety of options. I always stick with their jibaritos, PR rice and their meat pies/empanadas. FUEGO! Rice is super soft and bouncy, the meat pies are incredible and their mini jibs hit the spot. Everything is jam packed with garlic so that will linger for about a day, worth it! Wait time can be anywhere from 30-45 min as they make everything fresh and the line can be lengthy. Patience is key because it's oh so worth it down to every last bite! They take cash/card and are open until 6pm except closed on Sundays. If you get there too late they run out of rice! read more

I was told this place was amazing for years...so I finally came to try it out. My order was rice, mini jibaritos, tostones, alcapurria de yuca, relleno de papa , a pincho and a pastelillo... I googled first to see the pricing, and said okay it's reasonable. I get there, none of the pricing is accurate from google. Then I wait about 25/30 minutes for the food because it is made to order which I'm okay with... I order my food and she doesn't tell me a total...I then realize I am waiting longer because she messed up my order with someone else's. I hear the total come out to about $52 something..i was shocked to see the total for a mini jibarito that was smaller than my palm...my yuca alcapurria was burnt til the middle. The relleno barely had meat inside of it and tasted off. Rice was made with no flavor. Chicken pincho was over seasoned and super small. The pastelillo was the second item that was over loaded with flavor...a little too much that it was overwhelming. Oddly enough, I check my bank statement and my total went from 50 something up to 62 dollars... I wasn't going to make a review about the food and just leave it considering the lady who works there is sweet but I was pushed to the edge to see the total not add up correctly. read more

This is one of the two Chicago places my Puerto Rican roomate deems as amazing Puerto Rican food! Get the mini jibarito- their meat is tender and flavorful, the tostones are small enough to cook evenly but large enough to be filling, and that garlic sauuuuccceeeee lorrtt. Wow: that is some good food. First, both employees were wearing masks and the tables are spaced properly. I had no COVID related concerns. Mini-jibarito was delicious... though I liked it at $3 a little more than $4.50. The sweet plantains were perfect, done but not mushy, still firm and starchy. The potato fritter was CRAZY delicious. I'm Puerto Rican. This place serves pretty good Puerto Rican food out of a truck. Most food is cooked to order. I know it's authentic because they call me by the casual but affectionate moniker for a young man, "papa." Sometimes they forget to give an item you paid for but it's never on purpose. I haven't figured out the best dish but the pinchos are always more savory and juicy than I expect them to be. I've had the Arroz con gandules, pinchos pork and chicken, bacalaito, pastelillo, and alcapuria; it was all good. They also have the typical sodas like kola champagne and inka cola handy. It is a fabulous food truck that serves the standard american fare but then a whole assortment of delicious Puerto Rican food! It is fabulous and fresh and cheap! I think I have had everything on the PR side and nothing has disappointed. I love how food is made fresh and not just reheated from the day before. Worth waiting a few minutes to get great food. During this covid19 pandemic there should be no reason you're not wearing a mask and gloves, especially since you're serving food to people. You are putting everyone in danger and that is not ok. I will never order or eat your food from your food truck. You should be more aware, and if I can find a way to report you to the city I will. Amazing delicious food! I have been to Snix Snacks many times and they have never failed to bring their A game. The food stand offers both Puerto Rican and American cuisine, so you can have a little of both. The chicken pinchos (shish-ka-bobs) are tenderly juicy and seasoned well, bbq sauce is an option but you should DEFINITELY ho for the bbq sauce. The fritters are an exquisite array of flavors, you must try the alcapurrias (fried root dumplings with pork in the middle) soooo delicious. The burgers are also very good. The owners of the food stand are always there working and preparing the food freshly made for each order. They are very friendly people and their service is excellent. You can't go wrong by choosing anything off the menu, it is all Sooooo Gooood. You must give this food stand a try. read more

I finally decided to grab a quick bite one day and was pleasantly surprised to find delicious Puerto Rican cuisine in small samples but delicious nonetheless. Walked by today and saw how cheap the shishkebabs were and had to try em. My friend and I got one pork one chicken and it was honestly amazing. It also came with two little garlic bread slices which also tasted great. I honestly loved them so much that we stopped by again on our way back. I go to Disney II Magnet High School and frequently go here. I go to Snix Snacks for off campus lunch when we have it, and after school. They have amazing cheese fries, awesome ice cream and I've never had it, but apparently the Puerto Rican food is good too. They recently added a bench and a picnic table.
