Agua de parcha, mini jibarito, arroz con gandules

Great Puerto rican food and great service. Seeing this food truck back at the park is one of the highlights of spring in the neighborhood. This is one of the two Chicago places my Puerto Rican roomate deems as amazing Puerto Rican food! Get the mini jibarito- their meat is tender and flavorful, the tostones are small enough to cook evenly but large enough to be filling, and that garlic sauuuuccceeeee lorrtt. Some other Staples: arroz con gandules, agua de parcha, relleno de Papa. Go walk to the park and hang out here, they have some picnic tables set up to wait/eat by, great way to enjoy the weather, get some exercise, and regain those lost calories

Hidden treasure in Independence Park !! If you are looking for some Jibatito sandwich and acapurias look no further especially if you live on the northside , save yourself the trip and try Snix Snacks the food is delicious. Stop by and let's support our small businesses

I'm Puerto Rican. This place serves pretty good Puerto Rican food out of a truck. Most food is cooked to order. I know it's authentic because they call me by the casual but affectionate moniker for a young man, "papa." Sometimes they forget to give an item you paid for but it's never on purpose. I haven't figured out the best dish but the pinchos are always more savory and juicy than I expect them to be. I've had the Arroz con gandules, pinchos pork and chicken, bacalaito, pastelillo, and alcapuria; it was all good. They also have the typical sodas like kola champagne and inka cola handy. If it was more healthy I'd eat here a few times a week. Great for lunch or an impromptu picnic at the park.

It's a quick stop for a snack. The mini jibaritos are my favorite... I always have to order 2 for myself!!

I was a huge fan of the tostones, it was crispy and crunchy and fried to perfection. They put tooo much garlic oil on mines but still edible. I was not a huge fan of the fried pork belly.. it was like I liked it bc I was hungry but I didn't like it enough to come back and order it again.. I think it was the seasoning and it was overly salty for me... besides that it was cooked to perfection. Maybe I need to come back and try something else on the menu but for now it's not a place I would rush back to and eat at.. I'm sorry I hate being mean but I have to be honest.

We were greeted with a smile and guided to choose our own table. A basket of bread and butter was brought over promptly. I ordered appetizers, tostones rellenos de lechón and carne frita. They came out at the same time as the entrees. It only took about 10 minutes! We ordered a volcan with steak in red sauce (mofongo relleno de bistec en salsa), breaded chicken breast and lechón with arroz con gandules. The food was spectacular! Everything was very well seasoned and reminded me of home (born and raised in PR, moved here as an adult). I would definitely recommend that anyone come here for authentic Puerto Rican food. Be mindful that they are very generous with their portion sizes. We ended up taking about half of it home. There are worse problems one can have. :-)

We stumbled on Caribella since it was near spots we wanted to do our errands at. We were delighted by their customer service and delicious food. Items we got: Caribella Skillet: 8.5/10, the plantains were a great addition to the skillet and it was the first time we had it like that. The seasonings that were adding were flavorful. Caribella 2 eggs any style: 7/10 my eggs I requested over easy. It was a lot rarer than I wanted the whites at the bottom were still raw and runny. The house potatoes were amazing, perfect texture and crunch. I love that they had sour dough toast as an option. The sausage links were good pairings as well. Matcha latte (hot): 8/10 great once I asked for additional simple syrup (I personally like it sweeter) They offered us some salsa to pair with the food and their salsa is a great delight for both the skillet and the eggs. Their salsa packed good flavors without being overly spicy for us. We ended up getting their 8oz bottle for $6. The ambiance is good as well for a date spot if you're in town. They open at 8am and we got in around 8:05 so it was not too busy yet for a Sunday morning. I would for sure recommend trying their skillet since the plantains were really good!!
