Authentic Mexican in Albany Park, serving fresh ingredients hot and quick. We split a torta, a house specialty combination of steak, chicken and pork with a side of rice and beans. The sandwich was so big we were happy to have shared it. The beans were thick and flavorful. There are a few tables to dine at. Very warm service. The price was very fair. We will come back.

This is a small mom and pop place. The sandwich was huge so easily shareable especially with the fries. I preferred the combo protein sandwich than the carne asada. There are isn't much seating inside but there are several tables. It's about $15 a torta so don't expect a bargain. As a side note, this place is right across the street from a local supermarket which you can park at if you can't find street parking. I grew up in this neighborhood in the 70's and 80's. So much has changed since then.

Torteria san lenchito sooo many options I been here many times for lunch with great friends this time I was disappointed because I ordered a semita poblana The only thing authentic is the bread bun with sesame seeds on top, but the ingredients are not really Cemita poblana soupost to be Milaneza, ham ,avocado ,Chipotle pepoers, papalo, and lots of queso Oaxaca string cheese This one was milaneza lettuce, tomato Was ok but not the original cemita anyways, torteria san lenchito is still my favorite torteria. See you soon again

I came here last night, and the employees were super kind and helpful. The food was amazing, and I'll definitely be coming back for sure. They have tons of options to choose from, and what I bought was good. The horchata was also delicious. I didn't sit and eat there because it's a little small. Their salsa verde is also very good!!!!!

Small torta shop with many options. Service was great. Our waitress was very nice. Free chips with beans. Our food came out pretty quick. Huge portions. One torta can really feed two. Great prices as well.

Super tasty and authentic food. We were welcomed with fresh nacho chips and beans. Our al pastor tacos and torta were terrific. Big portions for an affordable price. The owners are very kind and friendly, and we are happy to support a small and nice family business.

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. The service was also AMAZING from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. I must admit that I had low expectations because quite frankly, I have not enjoyed Mexican food outside of Mexico or California. However, we were hungry, and it was near where we were staying, so I decided we should check it out, and I am so glad we did! The food was great. Both adults and the VERY picky children in our group all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the green chicken enchiladas and the other adult ordered a chile relleno combo, which I also got to try. Everything was delicious and devoured by all! We were so full but the owner talked us into the chocoflan, and we did not regret trying it. It was soooo good! Speaking of the owner, the service was great. We really enjoyed how he and the rest of the staff were very courteous. It is a small establishment, and it gets a good amount of people, so I assume that there are waits during peak hours. I highly recommend Sabroso! And we plan to return the next time we are in the area.

There's no parking lot, but we found free street parking on Erie Street right next to the restaurant. We'll definitely come back!

Appetizers were quac and chips, and shrimp ceviche. The guac was really good, but the ceviche was the star. Served on a bed of cucumbers, it was visually beautiful, and the flavor was fresh and complex. There was also a LOT of it. We ended up taking some home. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates. Finally, the service--the servers are attentive without hovering. If we needed something, they were there, but never intrusive. It is hard to believe this is a little neighborhood spot, given the service and the quality of the food. It was not too busy tonight--we ate early--but I recommend reservations. It is very popular with the neighborhood. Bottom line, we each had 2 margaritas, appetizers, and entrees, and our bills with tip were around $105.00 each--totally worth it! Try this little gem--you won't regret it.

We came later on a Monday night so we did not have to wait to get a seat although it was still pretty busy. The place is decorated nicely. Well on a block with many other Mexican businesses. Located right off the pink line it is very easy to get to and also noted to be near the Mexican art Institute. The chicken mole enchiladas were delicious. Spicy and bitterness of the chocolate balanced super well. rice was also cooked perfectly. The shredded beef dish was short rib and mashed potatoes. They were meant to be assembled into a homemade tortilla - a very interesting concept. The homemade tortillas were so warm and fluffy. I have never had such good tortillas. I took a tamale plate home. It was large and had a good portion of shredded pork. Super flavorful, but also I felt the texture might've been firmer than I would've expected.

It was a hot, humid day, but apparently it was warmer inside than on their sidewalk seating, so we dined outside. My wife ordered the Vegetarian Torta ($13.75) and I chose the Shrimp Torta ($14.50). They were each quite large and filling. My shrimp torta was good, but a little one note. The vegetarian torta was an awesome combination of flavors and I would order it again in a heartbeat. Only real negatives were that they did not offer any draft beer options and the Chips y Salsa ($3.75) had a meager quantity of chips to eat their tasty and generous tomatillo and 3-chile salsa options. Would actually go 4.5 stars based on those 2 factors, but gave the benefit of the extra half star due to how good our service was and the excellent flavor of the veggie sandwich.
