Inspired by a NYTImes review of a Bronx restaurant that serves incredible pork, I did a Yelp search on "lechon" and came up with this 2-1/2-month-old restaurant. Thank you Yelp reviewers! A bit past noon, we walked into a nearly empty dining room. It was immediately filled by the warm hospitality of two women who greeted us like long-lost relatives. They sat us down, took us through the menu, made a couple of recommendations, then got to cooking. The food: piping hot, huge portions, very flavorful. My wife loved the Puerto Rican chicken stew; I had the same reaction to my roast pork sandwich. The only thing we finished were the empanadas--they were simply too good to leave any behind. Our gracious hosts treated us to a dessert of powdered chips and a homemade guava dipping sauce--fabulous! Service: attentive. Value: we took home as much food as we ate!

Sandwiches were so flavorful! It is a small place however it wasn't crowded when I arrived and I was able to choose my seat. The rice was very tasty and the empanadas were amazing as well! The staff was also very friendly. Will be back again !

Nice business... Affordable, delicious food! Husband got the steak sandwich... Really good! I got a half pound of the pork that was tasty... Some pieces a bit dry but overall a steal! We also got casava... I could have ate those all night . We will be back for sure!

My mom and I were in the neighborhood walking the dog and searching on google for a place to drink a coffee we found Deborincuba. We were not hungry since we ate before but were craving some coffee so we stopped here and decided to also add some empanadas as snacks. The restaurant wasn't busy so it didn't take long although they do have a sign saying to please be patient because everything its make at the moment so it might takes a little longer. My mom order a beef empanada and I ordered a Chicken one. When the snacks and coffee arrived I was actually in shock of how AMAZING this empanadas tasted. It had meat from the beginning to the end, no gap in between. Since they made this empanadas fresh, they were warm and it also comes with a mayoketchup sauce. Coffee was also very good, it was truly a real Cuban cafe con leche. We decided to placed an order of some pastry that reminds me a puerto rico desert call pastelillos de guayaba (Guava puff ) but this one were different, they were like a tortillas shapes, it call besitos tropical with a side of guava. When I am telling those things were AMAZING it was because they were amazing. We couldn't stop eating them, so addicting. The owner also came to talk with us for a bit, a very lovely lady, she is half cuban and half puertorican so she has the best of both world. In overall I give this place 10/10. Only subjection I would give its to maybe change the glass tint on front, you can't barely see inside so you are not sure if they were open or close until you actually push the door. Other than that highly recommended, next time we need to go back to order food since we didn't this time.

I am so happy I now know DeBorincuba! The food is outstanding. It is also a little different from the usual places, which is refreshing. The steak Jibarito is FANTASTIC! The shrimp, beef and Cuban empanadas are awesome. I lived the Cuban and Puerto Rican rice equally. I would not know how to pick between them. And the Besitos! Where has homemade guava sauce been all my life. The perfect crunch and sauce. Wonderful food!

I was not a huge fan of the fried pork belly.. it was like I liked it bc I was hungry but I didn't like it enough to come back and order it again.. I think it was the seasoning and it was overly salty for me... besides that it was cooked to perfection. Maybe I need to come back and try something else on the menu but for now it's not a place I would rush back to and eat at.. I'm sorry I hate being mean but I have to be honest.

We were greeted with a smile and guided to choose our own table. A basket of bread and butter was brought over promptly. I ordered appetizers, tostones rellenos de lechón and carne frita. They came out at the same time as the entrees. It only took about 10 minutes! We ordered a volcan with steak in red sauce (mofongo relleno de bistec en salsa), breaded chicken breast and lechón with arroz con gandules. The food was spectacular! Everything was very well seasoned and reminded me of home (born and raised in PR, moved here as an adult). I would definitely recommend that anyone come here for authentic Puerto Rican food. Be mindful that they are very generous with their portion sizes. We ended up taking about half of it home. There are worse problems one can have. :-)

A friend and I decided to hit the Humboldt Park area (Western/Division) and take in some Borinqueña atmosphere and sights. After walking up and down Division Street awhile we stumbled upon Papa's Cache Sabroso. The place was jumping! The weather was amazingly gorgeous and outdoor seating was packed. There was a line for seating and takeout. The friendly host was doing an amazing job of keeping it all organized. We chose takeout and ordered a steak Jibarito con arroz y gandules and a side order of plátano maduro all totaling $22.27. As another reviewer noted it is a tad pricey but not overly so. It took about 20+ minutes to get the food...but like their sign states, something on the order of, "this is not a fast food place and good food takes time, please be patient". The Jibarito tasted good overall like other Jibaritos I've had in the past, however my friend commented that although the steak was flavorful, it was a tad chewy and I would slightly agree. The mayo, tomato and garlic kind of brings it all together for me, but I would've liked way more garlic...and there was even a small container of garlic "sauce", but it was very light on the mashed garlic paste. Whenever I dipped my plátano maduro, I couldn't get any pieces of garlic on until most of the olive oil was gone. The rice was standard and flavorful and I really did enjoy the plátano maduro. I would probably return to try the garlic chicken.

We stumbled on Caribella since it was near spots we wanted to do our errands at. We were delighted by their customer service and delicious food. Items we got: Caribella Skillet: 8.5/10, the plantains were a great addition to the skillet and it was the first time we had it like that. The seasonings that were adding were flavorful. Caribella 2 eggs any style: 7/10 my eggs I requested over easy. It was a lot rarer than I wanted the whites at the bottom were still raw and runny. The house potatoes were amazing, perfect texture and crunch. I love that they had sour dough toast as an option. The sausage links were good pairings as well. Matcha latte (hot): 8/10 great once I asked for additional simple syrup (I personally like it sweeter) They offered us some salsa to pair with the food and their salsa is a great delight for both the skillet and the eggs. Their salsa packed good flavors without being overly spicy for us. We ended up getting their 8oz bottle for $6. The ambiance is good as well for a date spot if you're in town. They open at 8am and we got in around 8:05 so it was not too busy yet for a Sunday morning. I would for sure recommend trying their skillet since the plantains were really good!!
