The slaw, however, tasted very fresh and was not mayonnaisey ; I liked it. The hand-cut fries were OK, but would have been excellent if they had been hot. My dining companion's burger was cooked as requested and she thought it was very good. Service was OK, but definitely not overly attentive. Compared to prices down the road in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, the restaurant is a good value. Based on our experience, BJ's Carolina Cafe mainly caters to a local crowd. All in all, it's fine, especially if it's nearby or on your way to/from Outer Banks.

The staff is always quick to help fix any issues that arise and they are kind and knowledgeable. The sound side dining is nice and perfect with a breeze. The only negative is that it can get quite hot, which is obviously no fault of the restaurant. Always a great to-go option if the heat is too much to dine in. Also to note is that they have a great selection of beers. This is a family tradition we love coming back to each year and will continue to for years to come!

They suggested different ideas and were very responsive to all our emails during the planning process. I'm not sure I can say enough about how awesome the food was and how much there was left for us after the wedding.
