While Danish bakery is known for their high-quality baked goods... their customer service is awful. I placed an order in person and paid a month in advance requested a certain color and style of flower i sent an email a few days later with the description. Imagine my surprise getting a call 40 min before my cakes were to be picked up. The girl told me "We didn't realize you had an email with special instructions... we didn't receive it" She later acknowledged my email and wanted to know how late I could pick up the cake... as it wasn't done...in fact not even started. She then proceeded to tell me "it is mother's day and we would like to get other orders done" Wow like my order wasn't as important as the mother's day goods. It doesn't end there the next call I get was from Tracy who took my order telling me she charged me the incorrect amount and it would be an additional $26. Not sure how that happened as she recommended the cake sizes and charged extra for the special requested color.I let her know how upset I was that this was happening as the cakes were for a christening so now I needed to backtrack to get the cakes and be at the church. Her apathetic I'm sorry didn't bother me as much as her comment well at least you know your cake is fresh. Really isn't freshness an expected goal for$160 cake order. Will I come back to Danish bakery I'm sure I will. Would I refer someone or buy a cake for a special event... I'm not sure.

Big selection and all delicious! Love the smell inside. Great place for all occasions and high quality sweets. During COVID they are only allowing 3 people in the store at a time and increased the minimum on some orders (only selling by dozens, etc). I recommend placing an order ahead of time for pick up. Butter cake was good but could be a little more gooey. Apple crumb was really good!

I loved this place!! The shop is really quaint and cool. The town is the same. I got a chocolate loaf cafe and a butter cake for Christmas. The butter cake is similar to a cake my mom makes. It was a big hit for everyone that had some of it. All of the bakers/employees seemed very friendly. I will definitely go back for all of my dessert needs.

Love love love Danish bakers baked goods. My fave has to be their donuts. So big and soft but hearty and just scrumptious. It's a real treat. The staff is nice too and you can smell the goods as soon a you pull up in the parking lot. Yum.

I enjoy this little bakery. However, I'll tell you what I don't enjoy first; their hours and their cash only policy. I've never heard of another bakery that opens so late (8:30 am every day? I thought bakeries often open before the sun rises?) and it's just plain annoying to have a cash only business in this day and age. Now that I'm done complaining, I can tell you their butter cake is of good quality. It's not so gooey that it just falls apart, and it actually resembles and tastes like a cake rather than just a huge tray of buttery icing. Aside from butter cakes, I think their coffee cake danishes are their stand out item. They're sweet and spicy and crumble nicely. Their regular cheese and fruit danishes are solid as well. I thought their cookies were okay, but don't come here for the cookies. There's a reason it's always crowded here despite some inconveniences, and they're worth a try at least once.

Cheese danish, peach danish, powdered jelly n some French pastry. I ate the powdered cream donut already.

I have been coming here for years. I moved but I still will drive to come here. I won't eat donuts anywhere except for here. Their donuts are soft and fluffy. It is so good. My favorite is their jelly sugar donuts which they ran out today. Their butter cake is so good too. We got that last week.

Drove past this wonderful shop on my way to Giant the other day and wanted to check it out. I woke up crazing a Danish today was the day it had to go down. PRO TIP: place your orders in advance especially during COVID TIMES. Fortunately for me, they had just enough for me to order which I was extremely thankful. As soon as I parked, someone came outside (wearing a mask) and took my order. Super professional and extremely nice as this was my first time here. I was able to try blueberry and cherry which were incredible! Soft and fresh! Not much more I can ask for! Truly looking forward to trying the butter cake since that's what everyone seems to rave about! Until next time!

The Danish Bakers is a Rockledge staple. The baked goods are excellent and always very consistently made. My family loves the butter cake and will travel over an hour to buy it a few times a year. The prices are not posted in the store, but if you call they will share pricing. From my experience, the prices are always fair and reasonable. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit!

Butter cake is what they are known for. $11.75 including tax.

Great place for danish! Some of the "sticky" stuff can be a bit too gooey and sweet, but overall, great pastries.

But I've been known to leave with a danish, a slice of coffee cake, and a few cookies I swear are made with fresh-churned butter. There's something very special about the traditional offerings of Schenk's and the genuine, old-fashioned vibe. I'm good with leaving the gluten-free whole oats to the on-trend places a few blocks away--Schenk's knows exactly who they are. Sticky buns would 100% be my death-row dessert. And now that they deliver with DoorDash, I don't even have to put on shoes to make bad decisions.

DoorDash to the rescue. We took whatever was available so it was a white cake w/ vanilla crème frosting. Thank you to the bakery angel who personalized it with my son's name and even managed a soccer theme decoration too. Sweet, thoughtful, and totally spot-on. There's clearly new leadership quietly leveling things up--modern touches, helpful updates, and new offerings--but still showing up with traditional cinnamon-swirled schnecken. You can come back here and thank me later.

There's a hidden gem in Elkins Park - a small bakery near the SEPTA station. I've been there…read moreseveral times and it's been a wonderful experience each time. We went there this morning to pick up a raisin challah - we were making French Toast! The challah is excellent - rich, soft and sweet, it has a tender, delicious taste. The raisins added an extra touch of sweetness to the French Toast. Then there are the numerous pastries and cookies. We decided to get a few Hamentashen (chocolate and poppy), a raspberry croissant, a chocolate and a raspberry rugelach, and the most amazing looking Sticky Bun. I'll start with the Sticky Bun. It was exceptional; a soft, fluffy, and slightly chewy dough - challah like, but denser. It was laced with a sticky, caramelized glaze, studded with raisins and walnuts. It was 'melt in your mouth delicious', and a must try. Next up - the raspberry croissant. This is not your typical croissant - I'm used to the plain, or chocolate - I can't recall having a raspberry croissant before. It's one of the best I've had. It combines a flaky buttery croissant with a sweet, tart raspberry filling. The Hamentashen were good - the chocolate was better than the poppyseed - as the later needed much more Mohn (poppyseed paste). The rugelach was good; the raspberry was too sticky, but the chocolate was fine. If you're near Elkins Park, and you haven't tried Rolings Bakery, it's time you did!

When I arrived after a very good Mexican lunch further up York Road there wasn't much to choose from in their display case. A few pastries were about all there was. Not a loaf of bread to be found. The young woman behind the counter was friendly and helpful, but she couldn't provide what I was really looking for, great brownies or a fresh fruit pie or coffee cake to take home. So, I opted for a Carrot Cake pastry and a large Chocolate Chip Cookie. Both were adequate, but less than the rapturous experience I was hoping for. The Choco Chip was very sweet and crunchy, but without many chocolate chips. The Carrot Cake looked great, but its flavor was muted. The cake was not as moist as I anticipated, and the icing with a mild light cream texture, as opposed to the heavier cream cheese topping I was expecting. Not at all what I was craving. Sure, it may have saved me from calories and a diabetic coma, but I was looking for a small splurge. This place clearly was too healthy and sensible for my moment seeking temporary indulgences. Although the cafe was cozy and sat at sidewalk level, it just didn't "pop" for me. Perhaps, a better time would permit more satisfying results. 3.5 Patisserie Etoiles.
