Fortunately I was in a group and we were able to split a half dozen donuts so that we could try a few different flavors. My favorite was the canoli and the Nutella maple. The flavors rotate and I believe they have a few staple flavors that are offered all the time. I did not try out a drink but a few people in my group said their iced drinks were good. read more

Donerds Donuts is a locally owned small business that's well worth a stop when you're visiting Jim Thorpe. I learned that the owners met in Chile, where they were inspired to start a donut and coffee food truck. They sold their handcrafted donuts from a vintage VW bus on the streets of Santiago before eventually bringing their passion to Pennsylvania. Today, they have two locations, and I had the pleasure of visiting the Jim Thorpe shop. The storefront is charming, welcoming, and has a few seats where you can relax and enjoy your treats with a fresh cup of coffee. Best of all, everything is made fresh on-site. Their display case is filled with an impressive selection of classic and specialty donuts, along with colorful macarons, French toast cinnamon rolls, flaky croissants, and a full lineup of coffee drinks ranging from lattes to iced coffees. Honestly...wow! Deciding what to order wasn't easy. Since it was already midday, I kept it simple and went with a Boston Cream donut. It was incredibly fresh, light, and filled with rich, creamy custard, then topped with a smooth layer of chocolate. Absolutely delicious! A special shout-out to Sarah, who made the visit even better. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the different donuts and macarons. Everything she described sounded amazing, and she definitely had my mouth watering. I had to show some self-control or I would've walked out with half the display case! She was fantastic. Absolutely delicious donuts. We were in Jim Thorpe for three days and went here twice, lol. I had a fasnacht donut with powdered sugar the first day, and it was fabulous. The second time I had a PB cup one, and it was delicious. My daughter had a smores donut and absolutely loved it. My husband also had coffee and said it was great. The service was quick and prices were reasonable. Definitely would come back if we're in Jim Thorpe again. read more

The croissant was actually our favorite between the creme brûlée and strawberry cream croissant. It's a nice stop, but a once and done for us. While the donuts were good, we didn't think the flavors were as good as they could have been. We were spending a Tuesday in mid August in Jim Thorpe so we decided that this donut shop would kick off our day there. We came in at the perfect time as there was no line at 9:30am! The donuts that are stuffed definitely taste better. My favorite from the ones I got was pistachio and the cannoli. The tart-ish raspberry/berry cream on top of the pistachio cream really works well. The cannoli cream in the cannoli donut was really good. When it's just the topping, I taste more of the donut which doesn't have much flavor. Upon entering, although there were quite a few to choose from, I was a bit underwhelmed with the available selection. Had the chocolate glazed and raspberry jelly and both were definitely better than Dunkin' Donuts. Fairly priced. Had the matcha also which was not sweet and was flavorful. I can never refuse a good donut. Came to Jim Thorpe for the weekend and this place caught my eye while walking down Main Street. Had a fantastic time. Came to Jim Thorpe for the weekend and had to stop at this highly recommended shop! We got here around 9 am, on a Saturday (Easter weekend), and they still had quite a large selection of donuts and there was not a line. We got a wide array of donuts and enjoyed them ALL. I particularly enjoyed the crème brûlée and "homer," which is one of their more simplistic donuts. We were even able to have a few the next day and they were still just as delicious. I also got an iced chai here and it was truly incredible. I didn't have super high expectations for my coffee, but was pleasantly surprised. Tip: Their menu does change everyday, so you want to be sure to check their social media before going there, as their store is not large, and can be overwhelming if you're not familiar with the flavors do the day. I think Jim Thorpe is donut heaven and I just made a visit, wow. The banana brûlée was amazing, maybe the best donut ever . The blueberry cheesecake was also delicious but not as good as the brûlée , they have so many amazing choices it was a difficult decision but I don't think you can go wrong. These are not the average run of the Mill coffee shop donuts, they are clearly made by passionate bakers that know what they're doing. I didn't read about the places story but I'm sure they have been around a long time, and will be around for a long time. The donut is very hearty but light and airy, the cream filling is very creamy and you can tell made with quality ingredients. They are definitely well worth the cost , probably should be more. Definitely go glad I tried a few and will definitely visit this place if I ever am in Jim Thorpe again. Apple Crumb Donut (2/5) - I know cake donuts lean on the drier side but this felt like I was eating cardboard with apple flavor. There was a little pipette of liquid to inject into the donut, but that nowhere near salvaged the donut. Coffee (3/5) - Sadly, I can't even remember the name of the specialty coffee I ordered because that's how average it was. Hard to say more since there really wasn't much to write home about. It might be safe to say, the best donuts I've ever had in my life! They are so thick, rich and delicious. They're a bit pricey but completely worth it. Every time I think about them, I want them. The Oreo donut was ridiculous. My wife got the pistachio one, and even that was amazing. The cinnamon sugar was just piled on that one, as you can see.
