Went for the first time. Food and service were both stellar. Ahi Tuna Tower was great, perhaps a bit more soy sauce. Steak was cooked exactly how I asked. My wife loved the crab cake and filet mignon Next reservation already made

Another outstanding meal here at Daniel's Bistro. Here with two other couples last night we were all pleased with our meals as well as the service and ambience. Chef Bass, not only a great chef but an excellent host as well. He makes the rounds to insure everything is meeting your expectations. Can't wait till we get back here again! Food, service and ambience - All Excellent.

What a special place this is. You can see and taste the love in every dish. One better than the next. Best ingredients cooked perfectly. Each dish better than the next. Owner comes around and makes u feel like family. Gnocchi was little pillows of clouds. Array of mushrooms was amazing. My stuffed pork chop cooked perfectly. My wife's attic char was so fresh and seasoned so good. Pricing not too bad. Plenty of parking in there lot. Definitely great please for dinner at the shore.

Food lacked flavor and was over priced for the quality. I had the duck and while it looked promising it lacked flavor and the meat was kinda chewy. We had the oysters with caviar to start and it was like the caviar was put in with a tweezer, there was like literally 6 caviar beads on each oyster. My daughter got the steak and it was chewy and had a taste of burnt something in outer crust, like the grill wasn't cleaned. Like the steak was not good and for the price I want something that you enjoy with each bite . The highlight was the bananas foster which was good but presentation lacked. We were sitting outside so they couldn't prepare table side (not sure why) , which is ok but you would think they could present better. But it did taste good. Service was ok, waitress didn't come around to check on us which was annoying. the bus boys are high-school kids with no training. The constantly reached across the table even though there was plenty of room to walk around , they filled the water glasses and over flowed the glass so when they brought the glass back to the table it dripped on everything including in my wine glass. In summary over priced with some decent food quality but lacks flavor. Not going back. I should have been suspicious when all other places were packed and this one wasn't.

We Celebrated our Anniversary here. Our first visit in the 5yrs that we have resided in Point Pleasant. I don't know what took us so long! Being from the New York City area and having been in the restaurant business, I am somewhat of a stickler for service. The attention and professionalism was superb. As was the food experience. I ordered the duck. What a delight for the eye as well as the palate. Our desert, bananas forster, was prepared and flambe'ed tableside. Love that! I highly recommend this restaurant (byob) for anyone looking for a special night out.

Was it just an off night? Scallops ( not large sea scallops) And Crabmeat Risotto, the risotto was like plain white rice with a few chunks of good crabmeat, no infuse-ion. Duck Brest medium that was almost raw. Not what we are used to, we appreciate the BYOB as we pre planned the wine to the meals. Service was quite good as usual, a pleasing decor, and a medium noise level made a comfortable appearance.

WOW! First time here. What a surprise, a good friend of my wife recommended we try out her restaurant. When we arrived, parking was perfect, and we walked in to find an intimate setting, just the kind of atmosphere we love, relaxing, well-maintained, and with a bright, cheerful, and accommodating hostess. The staff were the best. Right on point and knew exactly what they were doing and when. As for the food, well, it was scrumptious, a word I seldom use. The chef sent us soup with bruschetta. I ordered the Tuna Tower appetizer, one of my favorites, and it came with a generous portion. Guests had the Ceaser salad enough to split. I was expecting everything to be a gourmet-sized portion, but to my surprise, it was most generous. I had the seafood Fra diavolo cooked to perfection, and the sauce was to die for. I tried to avoid bread, but I couldn't leave the wonderful sauce behind. My wife and guest both ordered the Barramundi seafood dish and loved every bite; it was fantastic. We ended our dinner with a tableside Berries Flambe. What a way to go. Bring your favorite wine, and you are set for an evening you won't be disappointed with, as well as the price. We can't wait to come back. Great job Chef Bass. Five Stars. Brew & Yvonne

We tried Daniel's under the new owners on a Thursday night and they were quite busy. There were was plenty of staff-service was cordial. Decor hasn't changed much since our last visit years ago. Their outdoor patio was charming. We started with an amuse bouche of tomato basil soup and a mini bruschetta crostini. Appetizers Crab cake- good but not the real lump crab I expected Gnocchi with bacon tasty, small portion Escargot- very good Foie gras- good Entrees Duck breast over risotto- duck was good but the risotto was more like wet white rice Prime pork chop- a bit on dry side Artic char- good Pork osso bucco- good Dessert Ricotta cheesecake - nice texture Zabayon with fresh berries made table side- very good Bananas foster- good I was glad to see that they are thriving under new ownership. We met the owner/chef as we were leaving, he was very gracious. There were definitely food hits and misses, however I didn't have the wow factor. I would be willing to go back at some point but not run.

This place use to be amazing, unfortunately it missed the mark for us. We come the day before new years. The array of mushrooms was delicious. The duck was okay and the fish wasn't terrible but the risotto for both dishes was absolutely awful, soupy and flavorless. Overall we were not impressed.

The food was well prepared and it was served in first class fashion. White table cloths, plenty of servers etc... Bruschetta appetizer plus tomato soup in small dipping cup were complimentary. Fresh rolls on bread plates . Our table of seven was outside but finely appointed with comfort to have conversations going without interference from neighboring tables or diners. I had the Halibut special over risotto , two had veal chops , one had pork osobucco. One had the char and 2 had the barramundi fish over risotto . Appetizers were excellent , ahi tuna tower, spicy duck meatballs, escargot and mussels . For a side we had asparagus which was amazing, spinach and green beans .. We ate well! The food was very good. Valet service was a nice touch outside .

The crab rangoon was surprisingly good. This appetizer is what made me pick this place. Such a good combination. Didn't need the marinera sauce. Next up soups. Lobster bisque was ok. I guess I was expecting it to be a little more rich. But it was good, it tasted exactly like lobster and I got good chunks in the soup too. Now the shrimp and corn chowder was super flavorful. Favorite dish of the meal. For mains, cold lobster roll and two tails w butter and side salad. Side salad was well dressed and I appreciate the ribbons of Parmesan. The lobster was mostly cooked right. There was one that was a bit chewy. Added salt and butter but felt like something was missing still. I couldn't find a good combo of toppings to go with the lobster. The cold lobster roll was alright. The potato bread added a good sweet flavor that complimented the lobster. Overall a decent meal.

So great start. The trouble started with the main course- Cod fish and chips. What I got was what looked like a plate of greasy over cooked shoe string fries. Where's the cod? Surprise, the cod is on the right side of the plate and looked sadder than the fries. The 4 pieces of cod were slightly smaller than my average skinny man fingers. In search of more cod I lifted fries thinking maybe it was buried in the potato avalanche. Alas the cod I saw was all I got. But that's not all. The cod had the consistency of poorly cooked calamari. The worst thing about the dish was the bland rice and the black beans that were served apparently right out of the can with no seasoning. You could've at least thrown some spices in them. Since it was lunch time we both got the sunset dinner specials which are served from 12:00 - 5:00 pm. Both of our meals came to start with a generous salad (you can also get a bowl of chowder if you aren't interested in salad), soft drink of choice, and dessert. (I got carrot cake and my mom got chocolate cake) The food was extremely fresh and came out very quick. The restaurant itself was also clean and we had a beautiful view of the water with the docked boats. Food - Broiled Jumbo Shrimp - These juicy broiled shrimp were smothered in the most luscious butter sauce. The shrimp itself were very tender and the seasoned butter sauce gave the shrimp an amazing flavor. My meal came with a baked potato that I added some butter too and a side of mixed veggies which were also seasoned nicely. - Coconut Shrimp - These were the most perfect coconut shrimp. Each of the jumbo shrimp were battered in a generous amount of coconut flakes and fried to perfection. These shrimps were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The shrimp paired nicely with the sweet chili sauce on the side. The dish was also served with French fries which were nice and salty.

I really debated on whether this was a 3, a 2 or even a 3 1/2 star (please add half stars). But,…read moreeither way it will not be repeated for us. It was just not up to par. The atmosphere is nice, the view of lovely boats, etc. The drinks were I would say a step below average, we didn't complain just drank them and did not order seconds (were never asked anyway). I don't think the bar has experienced bartenders so there was no point in asking for a remake on any cocktails. Onto the food and the service: the food was just passable, it was more of what you would get in a diner. This was not all freshly made seafood, this was the type of seafood such as stuffed shrimp that you buy premade in restaurant depot and heat up and they are all perfectly uniform and skimpy. The jumbo shrimp were smaller than what you would serve for cocktail shrimp, and they were all precisely the same. Two people had this at the table. There were seven of us. The lobster tails seemed to be freshly made, chicken seemed to be a reheated premade item like the shrimp and the 2 different salmon orders both seemed likely to be made there. The oysters Rockefeller was so cheesy and very little spinach. I had never had it like that at all and they were too large a size oyster for that particular dish which I order whenever I see it on the menu. This place was recommended as a good seafood house. It's not. Is it edible? Yes. Did we eat everything? Yes, we did. Will we go back? No, thank you. The service person was very nice (sweet), but really should not have been working. She had a bad leg and a really bad hobbling limp and she had laryngitis which made it hard for the table to hear anything she said. It wasn't that she was a bad person it just made it less comfortable of an experience for us. And due to her leg, most likely hurting her we were not asked about a second round of drinks and our waters were not refilled until we asked so the service was OK. Possibly they need more help and they need to be able to pay somebody to stay home when they're not up to working. I blame the restaurant for that, not the waitress. Restaurants see somebody coming in that kind of condition - they should send them home with pay if they value the employee. It does not make for a good experience for either the employee or the customer. That said I have taken pictures of the food and the lovely atmosphere. I do believe that the majority of the food is just reheated from restaurant Depot, which is not necessarily a bad thing but when you pay $35 for stuffed shrimp and you get something that came out of a frozen box it's not exactly a vote for quality. I don't mind the price, I did mind the lower quality and precisely uniform machine made style (also the lack of any crab in the crab stuffing). Chowders were OK, not much of a clam flavor, but the soup was good. The steamers were good. Salads were fine. Dessert was good, actually very good. Everyone had dessert and all the varieties were good.

When we arrived at about 5:40pm the place was packed so it took a few minutes for us to get seated, but no biggie because we didn't make a reservation (if you're here in the beach season, it's a MUST). We got seated in the bar area, but it was right by the window so it was a fantastic seat. Only down side was there was a guy playing music right next to us, but he wasn't super loud so it was fine. Our server, Matthew, was over fairly quickly to take our drink orders. Wifey ordered a Ruby Spritz and I had the French Pear. Both were delicious. For our appetizers my wife started with baked clams and I ordered the Drunk and Angry clams (steamers with lager and cherry peppers) and like the drinks, both were excellent. I was really happy with mine as the level of spiciness was perfect. We also ordered two white sangrias with dinner. Server suggested getting a pitcher if we were going to have more to a one, but we had a bit of a drive and didn't want to chance it. Great job on his part. My wife ordered the Crab Stuffed Flounder - very rich and tasty, but two plates of stuffed food was a little too much. I ordered the Pistachio Crusted Halibut special with jasmine rice, bok choy, and a lemon sauce. WOW it was great. The halibut was ever so slightly overcooked, maybe 60 seconds, but the FLAVOR was amazing. I love bok choy so this dish was a home run. We were too full for dessert, so that was it. We really loved this place and our server, Matthew, was great - friendly and engaging. I would 100% return and try another entree here.
