Glass of wine, bar area. Wine was decent. This was on the good day.

I believe I already wrote a review but do not see it. To make a long story short, I am a 71-year-old woman staying in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, for a few days, and decided to stop in the Boatyard, as it looked inviting. The one day I went for a glass of wine and it was quite nice, so the next day I decided to go back. Was enjoying myself with a few glasses of red wine, and the thin-crust pizza. A group of young men wearing the same T-shirts walked in, and there was a middle-aged gentleman to my right, admiring the waitress, Sid. There was also a guy who said it was his first day, Cliford, and he pointed out his name was spelled with one "f." I had short, what I considered, "congenial" conversations with both of them. Suddenly, for apparently no reason, I get escorted out by the police for what they called racist statements! They also accused me of not paying the bill, which I left money on the bar at all times. Mind you, my short conversations had nothing to do with race at all. To make a long story short, the police come and escort me out and to the police station! From there, I ended up at the Ocean Hospital, where a small, smelly lady watched over me all night. I ended up having to take an Uber back to my hotel room. No one cared to ask whether I had any kind of medical condition that required medicine. In sum, I believe this restaurant has something to hide. I suggest never stepping foot in this place ever! Also, it may be racist.

We had a nice early dinner here today. Our server Sophia was super kind and attentive. She took care of our party of 5 with ease and got all our orders right. The inside is clean and bigger than you'd think looking at the building. It's your typical bar. The menu has some decent things to choose from. Our grilled wings were good. Garlic parm was a hit and so was the bbq. The crab cake sandwich was very good, and loved the skinny fry option! My Moscow mule was good and our hostess let us know it was all day long happy hour. Beers were like $2-3 which is awesome! And $6 bar pie. Like how can you beat that? There's an upstairs rooftop area and backyard outdoor seating but it was too hot for us today. Overall we liked it here and stopped after our beach day! Would come back! Cu

The space is great., both indoor and outdoor seating areas are nice. Outdoor area is nice for pets/dogs and kids to have a little space. Both our pup and kids were happy. Servers were all knowledgeable and friendly! Draft list left something to be desired, but decent enough. Neither wife or I were impressed with our orders. Both were okay, but we would like to try something else. I should have known better ordering a poke bowl when I spend so much time in SoCal. It was overloaded with rice and very little fish. It was okay, but just okay. The mussels were pretty good as an appetizer. And the kids pizza was decent. We would happy revisit and try other dishes.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH: Boatyard 401 has everything we love: A dog friendly outdoor patio with picnic tables and umbrellas. The upstairs deck is also dog friendly with a separate outdoor entrance for the pups. A big menu with burgers, salads, poke bowls, pizza, and so much more, with vegan and gluten free options too. A full bar with a great menu. Starting around 4pm, there is an outdoor drink bar and raw bar. Friendly and dog loving staff! They brought Brie a water bowl! They are open until 2am everyday with a late night menu. On Saturdays and Sundays, the bar opens at 7am with drink specials and breakfast menu until 11am. And, there is Sunday brunch. Very close to the Manasquan River with views of the fishing boats!

Nice place, good food & nice service. My family & I stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to have brunch by the water. Since every place we went to either didn't have parking or were fully booked for the night, we were in a pinch. We came in thinking we would be turned away but it was the opposite, we were sat on the rooftop. It was the perfect setting. We all enjoyed our food, drinks & dessert. I definitely recommend coming here.

FANTASTIC cheese burger. Cooked to perfection, with a fluffy bun. Fries were addicting. I enjoy the lively atmosphere, as well.

Went on a friday night, and it was great!!! The service was fast and friendly, the food and drinks were fantastic, and to top it all off there was some great live music!!! We went during the off season and I could only imagine this place is even better in season!

Stopped in mid afternoon on a Sunday. Bar area was busy, but tables weren't. Overall the atmosphere was casual but very loud. Food was just okay. Had a white sangria and I'm not entirely sure what was in it. Was almost clear, and it was quite weak. We frequent the area but I'm not sure I'd come back for more than a few beers and appetizers since the prices are significantly lower than on the boardwalk.

My friends from my class who passed, we had our 20th reunion there this summer. Miss you guys.

Cool vibes, decent food, great outdoor area and the bartenders rule. Good service. Gets a little too busy sometimes but there's two bars which helps.

Food, view and service were great. I had the Shipwreck Burger and my Girlfriend had the Coconut Shrimp Tacos. I thought the burger was one of the best I've had in the area and fries were above board as well. My girlfriend said the Coconut Shrimp were the best she had since the Florida Keys ... It inspired her to have apiece of Key Lime Pie which she said was good. We are looking forward to coming back on a Sunday to watch an NFL game as it had a fun bar vibe ...

The two women working did not acknowledge me in any way as they talked with the kitchen staff for several minutes while I stood a few feet in front of them at the counter. I was the only customer. Finally I said "I'd like to place a take out order please." Neither of the employees spoke but just raised their eyebrows so I said I wanted the veggie quesadilla. They wordlessly nodded and pointed to the credit card machine. I politely said I would pay cash and the one woman stared at me without responding and the second woman turned away to speak with kitchen staff again. The first woman took my cash and handed me change, again without any facial expressions or saying anything at all. It was damn eerie! The quesadilla came out quickly and could have been made by a 10 year old. Some shredded flavorless cheese between two undercooked store bought tortillas with some thawed-from-frozen unseasoned mixed broccoli/mushrooms, bland rice, and a beans from a can on the side. For flavor they gave me a tiny cup of warm sour cream and a tiny cup of sour green salsa. Two stars because it was edible and only cost $11.00. Also, the bathroom was clean and there was a lot of free parking.

There's also a huge free parking lot right outside. Our waitress, Liz, was kind, attentive, and clearly very experienced. The restaurant is BYOB, though they do sell a few bottles for around $35. Just note that wine options are limited--they only had Chardonnay as their white wine option. The complimentary tuna salad was so good that we bought a container from the market to take home. We each had a cup of clam chowder, shared the miso scallop sushi, and ordered the sesame-crusted bluefin tuna special. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The highlight for me was the key lime pie--one of the best I've ever had. We loved everything and can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

So great start. The trouble started with the main course- Cod fish and chips. What I got was what looked like a plate of greasy over cooked shoe string fries. Where's the cod? Surprise, the cod is on the right side of the plate and looked sadder than the fries. The 4 pieces of cod were slightly smaller than my average skinny man fingers. In search of more cod I lifted fries thinking maybe it was buried in the potato avalanche. Alas the cod I saw was all I got. But that's not all. The cod had the consistency of poorly cooked calamari. Thank goodness for Kohrs. Your seafood $$ are better spent at better establishments.
