I found this salon on Instagram when I was looking to make a change with my hair. I am glad that I found them. I was going for a semi-drastic change to my long brown locks. I wanted black hair with blue/teal peek-a-boos. I was given a color consultation and explained to her what I wanted. We were set...and It was time to make a change to my hair! I was getting a lot done, and I was in that chair for a long time! Roughly 5 hours! I had to get some of my hair bleached for the blue/teal part I was getting done, and then the rest black, and a haircut and a blowout. Lots of work! The stylists continued to come over to me to see if I was okay and if I wanted tea, coffee, water or even a bagel! Not only my hair, but myself as a person was well taken care of during my time at this salon. I don't remember the name of the stylists who worked on my hair (it's been a long day!), and more than one stylist helped me achieve the look I was going for. My experience could not have gone any worse than it did. No wonder why I've never heard of them in the 10 years I've lived in the area. I had an upcoming weekend getaway and was trying to find a salon nearby that could be my "go-to". Long overdue review of salon....been coming here over a year and half. ALWAYS walk out happy, satisfied & feeling pretty. Shanna is my girl & never disappoints. She "sculpts," colors, highlights, conditions, applied hair extensions,and has done keratin treatment on my hair. She fixed my hair after a botched Magic Sleek treatment that turned my hair orange and made-my hair fall out. I Love her so much. She is a true artiste. All of the staff are lovely especially Sweet Nora who greets you and offers coffee, tea or water. I use their app to schedule appts and earn hair treatments (which i have yet to use )which is a nice incentive. Its a great salon. Im very happy I started coming here. The hair stylist was very nice and apologetic BUT I did schedule for an appointment in which I still waited 55 minutes for them to be ready. I think she tried her best based on her experience.... Which meant direction from other stylists.Overall, I'm not in love with my hair but I didn't have a choice being that it made me running late for all my other appointments... Its definitely a good style. Customer service wise, it was a poor experience ( as the owner is talking about her argument with the Chinese man next door so loud that I can hear it across the room) and they were nearly an hour late. I've had terrible hair experiences in the past and I hate having try to find a new stylist. I have extremely thick hair, which I love to wear in funky, short styles. You'd be surprised just how difficult it is to find someone who can legitimately style short hair. In my hunt for a new stylist, I searched review after review and stumbled across Salon Danielle Loren. I booked an appointment with Kathy, one of the owners. I figured that if anyone should be able to style my hair, it would be the owner. My only regret is not having gone sooner! As soon as I stepped through the doors I was greeted warmly by the receptionist. Once she checked me in, she instantly asked me if I wanted a beverage and quickly went to work making my tea. I could easily see the rest of the staff smiling and intent on their work. The whole vibe was friendly and every client had a great style in the making. I sat down and waited for my appointment, relieved to be free of the new trend of pretentious, overly fussy boutique salons popping up all over. When I booked my appointment online, I must admit, that I thought it funny that they refer to their cuts as "hair sculpting". But after sitting in Kathy's chair, there is really no other word for it. She deftly cut away at my thick tresses; thinning them out like an artist using normal shears - not thinning shears. The result was amazing. I have unbelievable texture rather than a flat, uniform look given by lesser stylists. Kathy devoted an hour to me. She made sure I walked out loving my style. She jokingly told me that she has hair OCD. She does, but this is to the client's benefit. What I also found remarkable was that she asked me to play around with my hair while I was there. I've had experiences when I tried to move my hair around and the stylist got miffed and moved the hair back; as if hair were a static creation that won't ultimately be in my control once I leave. When I finally got home, I was happy to discover that for a short style, it is remarkably versitile. I can part it to either side, wear it in a fringe or with no bangs at all. I am happy to report that I have finally found my new stylist and look forward to my next visit in Kathy's chair! read more

I moved to a new neighborhood and I figured I would a different place a wow was it a mistake! I have been highlighting my hair for 15 years, and the other salon owner said she would "match" my color by doing a single process...MY HAIR WAS ORANGE!!!!! I went back the following day to have it fixed and rushed to fix it as if she was doing me a favor! After she was done, she asked me if it was "better". Let me tell you it was most certainly WORSE. After a week I could stand to look at myself anymore so I knew the only place that would help me was Salon Danielle Loren! My stylist Shanna could not believe what was done and she said it was in my best interest to make it dark at this time to save the quality of my hair. I was wondering why this place had so many high reviews, so I finally decided to see for myself. For men, then pay the same amount of attention to your hair as they would women's hair. My hair stylist had spent a long amount of time on my hair - not because she didn't know what she was doing, but because she wanted to make sure my hair was perfect. She knew exactly what type of hair I wanted without me saying much, which is impressive. She continually touched up my hair until everything looked amazing, and needless to say, I was blown away. Their floors are always clean, and they operate with the highest amount of professionalism. Though it is a bit pricy, you definitely get more than what you pay for. It's easy to book appts online and track what I've had done in the past. Everybody is so friendly and easy to speak to. I got an astonishing phone call this evening. I have been going to this salon for over 13 years. I had made an appt. and got a call the day of the appt. my stylist couldn't make it. I rescheduled. Again, the day before or the day of the second appt. I got a call that my stylist couldn't make the appt. AFTER I got a bit upset, Shanna told me, "you have to understand, Jenn was diagnosed with breast cancer!" I've know the woman for over 10 years. I was shocked. Concerned. I stopped into the shop about two weeks ago to see if she was there and how she was doing. I called to schedule an appt. with one of the other stylists because Jenn is not back to work yet. This evening I got a call that after about 13 years I'm not welcome back in the shop any more because I got upset (well, that was because I didn't know about the health condition until AFTER two cancellations!) and showed no compassion. Seems they forgot about me stopping in to see Jenn. Just to say hi and see how she was doing. I hope Jenn is on the road to recovery, but as for Salon Danielle Loren, after being unceremoniously banned from the salon, I wish them nothing but bad times to come. I'm really shocked that not knowing about Jenn's condition I was taken for being uncaring and not compassionate. Did they bother to remember me stopping in just to see how she is? Disgusting way to treat a very long-term client. Be forewarned. This is supposed to be a business. It's not like it's friends or family. Yes, I was going to this salon for approx. 13 years, but NEVER socialized with the people out of the salon. Why did I call why did I know them? To get my hair done! Lol and they wonder why getting my hair done was a priority when my stylist had health issues....... Ask how she's doing, but I still need my hair done. Sad way to run a business. I was in New York for a wedding, and needed a very last minute appointment for my Mom for a blowout. I was hesitant to call Salon Danielle Loren since it was a Paul Mitchell salon and I was expecting attitude and the typical "we don't book appointments this late" eyeroll response. However, when I called they were VERY accommodating and booked 3 appointments. 1 for a blowout and 2 updos. When we called later to cancel the 2 updos (and then called again to rebook) they were extremely accommodating which was amazing considering the rush/madness we were in. My Mom got EXACTLY the look she wanted (and she is at times impossible to please). She has short hair and wanted a blowout that would give her hair some volume and shine, but not make it look frizzy like it normally does and not have it coated in hairspray or teased to death. Salon Danielle Loren gave her EXACTLY what she wanted and the look lasted all night. To top it off, it was only $25! I would definitely come back here the next time I'm in New York. read more

The stylists are friendly but this place is overhyped to say the least. To say more, it's hard to express the level of my disappointment on my hair cut from here. Now, I have to save up to spend the time and money to commute into the City and ask my regular stylist to fix it. Just to start off, for a salon at this price point, I was surprised that I wasn't even offered water. Attentiveness to other service details were also lacking. But the most important part is about the haircut. The first red flag was that my stylist was slow. I'm used to swift, efficient snips so it concerned me that basic scissor work was taking so long. But I gave her the benefit of the doubt. The bigger problem is that they don't include blow dry and style as part of the standard cut fee. So unlike at other salons, I can't judge the final product before I walk out. When I pointed out that my cut didn't seem to have the layering and the style as described, I was told that once I style it at home, I will see the layering and the framing. No matter how long or hard I tried to style it at home, it just looked flat and unflattering. The reason I'm giving this salon 2 stars (instead of 1) is because my husband said the cut wasn't great but also not horrible. But it makes me feel gross to look at my hair as it reminds me of cuts I used to get back in highschool at Hair Cuttery. It's not a botched cut but also not what I asked for. I've become accustomed to flattering cuts, and this one does absolutely nothing for me. Looks like everyone I asked ( my neighbors, the checkout girl at the supermarket, Tennis Courts , my Fed-EX guy, Local Gym, the old lady walking her dogs and even at my Mechanic) they all looked at me as if I was from a different planet and told me in a convincing matter to go to this place. It almost felt like you are in a private Spa. The place is very neat. A dirty salon with cut hairs everywhere and a weird air smell is one of my pet peeves. The waiting chairs are very comfortable and the bathroom is cute and tidy. I like how they set it up like you are in a Spa. No harsh lights, just nice soft lighting and comfy chairs! They even offered me coffee while I waited. My appointment was with Jen. I was shocked at the amount of time this professional spent with me. She took her time to ensure that I would come out of this salon with a positive and satisfying experience. AMAZING!!!!!!! It was the best haircut EVER!!!!!! It's been 2 years now... and I still continue to make appointments at this salon. Sometimes I'm not able to get Jen to cut and style my hair, unfortunately because of my schedule. And to my dismay......Shanna, Karen and Erin are just as amazing as Jen. These girls can work in any Movie Trailer cutting and designing hair for any movie star. I went there twice and had two completely different experiences. the first time i went, i got the highlights i wanted but she didn't have time to blow dry my hair let alone blow it out like i wanted. Whatever, that was fine i was obsessed with my hair anyway. the second time i went, i wanted to go lighter and showed a picture like i did last time. took a crazy amount of time like it did the first time but because of this, more than one person was working on my hair. it started off great but then they started to blend my ends which only lasted 5 seconds so now, my hair goes from black to blonde then back to black. aside from that, i wanted to go more blonde but instead i came out with pretty much orange hair. this time, she was able to blow out my hair and ended up curling it but both times i went, there was no time to take a picture or post it. Not only that, my sister went and her hair was posted on our hairstylists page. both times i went, i took pictures of my own hair like i was told to and sent them to her and yet she never posted a picture of my hair. on top of ALL OF THAT, i paid an insane amount just to not like it in the end. never going back here ever again. not spending $400 for orange hair. read more

Shanna did my color and did a great job, Kathy worked her dry cutting magic and gave me a great haircut. Even my husband was impressed. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that they were so busy, that they didn't take me until 11:30 for my 11:00 appointment, but it was worth the wait, since they treat each patron as if they are the only one there. Potentially was going to use them for wedding, friendly people but quality of service was nothing special. My bridal hair trail went ok, nothing over the top. The updo looked nice but I've had better elsewhere. The make up trial was not tgreat. Light and natural did not look light and natural. The quality of make up they were using was nothing impressive either. I only got maybe a good hour out of the make up before it starting fading and creasing. The eye make up was heavy in terms of the eye liner and the eye shadow creased rather quickly. Ended up taking it off about three hours later since it just looked horrible and felt horrible. My skin broke out the day after so I am glad I decided to switch to a different place for better service and better pricing. read more
